Easier said than done. Azhar will be probably the first one out tomorrow. He has a horrible 4th innings record.

As a pakistani I want us to win but I dont want a draw. Instead of a draw I would take Irish win :P

we are a batsman short

and yourself and Shafiq are known to collapse under pressure
 
he's talking as if misbah and younis are still playing

his own performance his so horrible and he's talking about chasing down any target. it's like he is taunting the irish team. why can't our players just keep their mouths shut? especially when you're getting spanked by a test team on debut
 
He might have seen the weather forecast and knows they might not even bat tomorrow 😂
 
Even though I still think Pakistan will easily win the game, I still suspect the Pakistani squad isn't that confident. Starting with the comments from Sarfaraz at the start of the series, it does seem like the Pakistan camp was little worried about this one off test. Hope they don't take that fear with them to batting batting crease tomorrow.

You just highlighted the difference between a random poster on the internet and that of a Professional representing his country.
 
We are not winning this game. Weather forecast not good as per reports and our batsmen struggle under cloudy conditions. I am hoping for the worst.
 
Calm down people last session has been favouring the batsmen

Conditions and pitch are completely diffrent in the afternoon compared to what it is in the morning

Day 2 last session Faheem & shadab
Day 3 porterfield & Joyce
Day 4 o brian and thompson


This morning we will end it in the first hour

But the suns not out today so it will be difficult for batsmen even in the last session
 
If we loose this match Azhar will be the main culprit to drop catches and score nothing, along with Babar, Rahat, Sarfraz.
 
4th innings choker, Sharjah Test vs SL aside.

Consistently fails to stands up in a pressure chase.
 
Apart from that fluke innings in Sharjah, Azhar has been a walking wicket in the fourth innings.

He actually helped the team by getting out in the first over. A 40 ball 10 would have been more damaging.

Knew it. Both Azhar and Asad do not have in them to lead the batting. Shameful that they have been outbatted by much younger and inexperienced batsmen.

Azhar is it eight years into his career, and he has been a consistent flop in the fourth innings barring that one innings against Sri Lanka at Sharjah, where Mathews' defensive field placings and some poor bowling allowed Azhar to score a hundred at a 70+ SR.

Clearly, that innings was a flash in the pan. He averages in the 20's in the fourth innings, and has been dismissed for single digit scores more than 50% of the time. One of the biggest culprits of our numerous day five capitulations in the last few years.

That doesn't make that innings a fluke. An anomaly, fair enough, but to call that innings a fluke is simply downplaying what was a great innings.

We know that Azhar does not have the capability of scoring a 100 at a SR of 75, and he was greatly helped by the captaincy and the bowling. Because of the situation, he took risks and they all came off that day.

In my view, a great performance can be a fluke as well. Most of Afridi's ODI hundreds were flukes, because we know that his only way of batting was to slog blindly. Any half-decent hitter would score 5-6 hundreds over a 20 year career by playing the way he did. However, that doesn't mean that they weren't great performances.

Great yes, but also flukey.

You can say what you want about the tactics that day but Azhar Ali played a great innings to level the series. You can not say that is a fluke. A fluke is flipping a coin 5 times and predicting correctly each time whether it will be heads or tails. A fluke is bowling half volleys but taking wickets. A fluke is not playing a great innings under pressure in a must win test against a bowling line up of Lakmal, Eranga, Mathews and Herath, known to be one of the best spinners on day 4/5. Lots of records were broken during this innings, so if you, a so called "Pakistani fan" are not ready to accept this, then I really question if you really are a Pakistani fan or just a troll.

I'm not disagreeing with you that this was an anomaly, just to make that clear, but credit where credit is due for this innings.

I don't agree that there was a lot of pressure on Pakistan that day. Our inability to handle pressure is there for everyone to see, I have lost count of the number of times we have failed to save a match on day 5.

In the Sharjah chase, Pakistan did not play with fear and pressure because they were not expected to pull it off. They were resigned to lose the series but Mathews' defensive captaincy gave them a window of opportunity, and they had a good crack at it.

The batsmen including Azhar played with freedom and attacked the bowlers, something that he cannot do under pressure. If he had to do our usual tuk tuk on that day, he would have failed as usual, especially against Herath who has had the wood over him.

My definition of a fluke is something that cannot be replicated again. Azhar will never produce an innings like that again. Please don't call me a troll because we have different definitions of fluke.

So because Pakistan are known to collapse on day 5 you feel they have no pressure? By the same logic, do you think that South Africa have no pressure in knockout matches because they are known to be chokers? If you are expected to lose, teams can play with nothing to lose, I agree with you there but downplaying that innings due to that is poor logic.
When a minnow plays a full strength team they are expected to lose, so if they win would you use the same logic and say that "minnow x were expected to lose to full member y" and therefore under rate a good innings/bowling performance by a player from an associate team?
 
Azhar Ali speaking ahead of Lords Test:

Clearly woefully out of form, to do well in england you need to know where your off-stump is and also need to be able to leave the ball well as its just as important as blocking early on. Also the need to play straight is very apparent.

So why was Azhar feeling need to walk down wicket to bowlers? Is that going to give him any balance? is that going to given him better idea what balls to leave and play at? Also this wasnt an ODI where the bowler was going to lose his lines all off a sudden and be taken off.

Azhars lost concept of the batting basics at crease and no wonder hes a walking wicket at moment.
