Mohammad Rizwan shared following thoughts in post match presser today, after facing 7th consecutive loss in PSL 11:

## **On Personal Performance and Responsibility**
* "First and foremost, my own performance wasn't up to the mark, and the team's results reflect that. Had I performed better from the front, the outcome for the team would have been different."
* "I am not offering excuses, but I recognize that I fell short in certain areas, which ultimately led to these results."
* "We are only human. I admitted to myself from the start that I made mistakes and my performance suffered. However, that doesn't mean I will give up or quit; I will remain strong and keep going."
* "I stand before you and openly admit that this is my failure, just as my current form is a personal failure."
## **On Batting Position and Team Roles**
* "While I have always had a preferred batting number, I have never complained or reacted negatively if I was asked to move down the order. I have never made demands of that nature."
* "I am willing to do whatever the team requires of me. Whether they ask for a specific role or I suggest one myself, I am always ready to adapt for the benefit of the side."
* "I handed over the gloves to Rohail Nazir [Razaula] because he is a youngster; I felt it was important to support him and be out there with him on the field."
## **On T20 Retirement and Passion for Cricket**
"If you feel that at this age, or for any other reason, I should take retirement, I will take it. But my love for the game isn't something I walk away from just because of a string of poor performances. If I am not performing, I have the courage to tell the captain to give someone else a chance, which I have done in the past, but I will not quit the game itself."

That has to be the CRAZIEST press conference I have ever seen from a player that is centrally contracted by PCB in the history of their press conferences!

## **On T20 Retirement and Passion for Cricket**
* "If you think I’m going to retire just because of my age, I won't. For me, cricket is a passion—whether it’s T20s, Tests, or ODIs."
* "I love the game. I play it because I don’t know anything else in life; I don't have a business or other sports to fall back on. It’s all about cricket for me

He said something like “if you people think I should retire, I will retire”

Yeah get the hell out ya fraud!!!

How? he’s openly admitting his faults, something our cricketers refuse to do

You think he isn’t fit for T20 but why do you want him to retire from cricket in general?

So you admit you don’t just want him out of the T20 team? You just want him to retire completely because of a personal dislike ?

Thank you for the honesty and having more integrity than most of our players have historically who refuse to ever admit their own faults like this openly. Instead they cry on national media why they are out of the team instead of working on their own deficiencies. Still a few good years and ultimately still the most superior pure wicket keeper in the country.

You’ve gone back before, worked on your game and come back a better player. Still young in cricketing years so you will come back stronger I’m sure

(6:46 onwards)

What a ******

It’s clear as daylight that he should retire from T20, but he says that he will retire from all of cricket and not one format only!

Alright, so retire from all of cricket then and be done with it!

What flaws has he admitted to having exactly?

“My performance was not good”. That’s not admitting anything we do not know already. Which flaws in his game has he admitted to openly?? He says he is still good enough for all of cricket!!

Yeah and what is wrong with him for the longer formats ?

He should retire from cricket in general because you don’t like him as a T20 player and hate him in general?

He’s openly stating here for the world to see that what is happening is his fault. He has taken the entire blsme
Upon himself which is a good leader.

They lost today because of Sam Billings, a coward would have come out and solely blamed him

Why? Because he's owning up to his mistakes and responsibility of failure of his team as captain?

Kiss pe Ehsan Kar raha hai yeh?

“He came out and admitted his faults”…”what a great and honest man”

Yeah no **** he lost 7 matches in a row and has lost 16 from his last 17!! Plus 5 when he was Pakistan captain too!!

He’s dented the careers of at least 2 potential opening talents for Pakistan and was very close to ruining a 3rd player in Masood but that kid luckily held his own!

also came out and said that he was acting like a nightwatchman for Yasir Khan who can’t play the early swinging ball! So now his opening position is also questionable forever because Rizwan thinks he can handle swing better than Yasir can!

One thing you have to give him, Rizzu understands the local media system well. Knows what to say and how to say it(in Urdu/Pashto). Does the performative stuff off the field as well(speeches at the gatherings). Good survival instincts for his local envs.

rizzu is a very talented player who has been ruined by his propensity for playing politics, establishing his religious influence and inability to step away from the limelight.

hes a world class red ball wicket keeper, hes a very good lower order red ball batsman, hes a very good white ball wicket keeper. what he is not, is a power hitter, unfortunately he has never admitted this, and has ruined his career because of it.

its a shame, because hes still the best red ball keeper batsmen pak have had.

Enough reasons to never select him for PCT again!

Thanks for enlightening us but anyone with an internet connection can find out that you've lost 17 of your last 18 T20s as captain and average 15 with the bat this season at a strike-rate of 116.

I guess maybe @RizwanT20Champ may not know but then again he also thinks Babar Azam is the Novak Djokovic of cricket

All this dramabaazi and he still doesn’t have the shame to retire himself.

I will answer his question - yes we feel you should take retirement. Will you comply or was it just another bit of dramabaazi?

But what’s he gonna do about it? Talk is cheap. Action, action, action

Bro's Pakistan's Alan Knott lol
ive banged on about it for ages, for those of us old enough to have lived through moin khan, kamran akmal, and even sarfu, rizwan is a god send in red ball cricket behind the stumps. unfortuantely the red ball format isnt given the respect or exposure it needs to thrive in pak. aus, eng, sa, nz, ind, rizzu would be a undisputed generational goat contender, but the fact that hes a rubbish white ball opener means his entire legacy is defined by the trait whicih was never his primary strength.

im not saying this is fans fault, its his because he loves attention and politics which compounds issues, and the PCBs for just not playing enough tests for him to make a career out of that.

he's rubbish for whiteball I agree, but I'll keep him for red ball, he still can score runs in SENA, but I doubt that now, since he's struggling in all frpnts, let's hope atleast eh does that there, but tbf the level of keepers we've had they make rizwan look like alan knott as a keeper, and gilchirst as a batter already lol

I think I'm pretty vocal with my criticism of Rizwan as a T20 batter, but even I will admit that he is one of the best Test wicketkeepers we have ever produced. He is absolutely spotless behind the stumps and regularly makes important contributions with the bat when the team is stuck in a tricky position. Even if you are Rizwan's harshest critic, this is something you should be able to admit as an objective cricket fan. I am even willing to give him a chance in ODI cricket, eventhough he has been off-color as an ODI batsman for quite some time now.

My issue with him is his failure to admit that he is simply not cut out for T20 cricket anymore. The era of 120 SR anchors is over and has been over for a while now. If he just decided to be honest with himself and retired from T20 cricket, I would have no issues with him. But for some reason he is delusional enough to think he can still make it as a T20 batter.

Yeah problem is that he's declining in whiteball, and even then his sr of 80 in ODis and 120 in T20s is useless regrdless of his avg, the game has gone past that, but ai'll keep him in tests because he's pak's best batter for both home and away, agreed with everything you've said

Anyone who has followed Pakistan's test cricket during the careers of Kamran Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed knows what a Godsend Rizwan is behind the stumps. Even if he makes ZERO runs with the bat I will select him purely based on his ability as a wicketkeeper. You CANNNOT quantity the impact a wicketkeeper's dropped catches have on the result of a test match. Heck, I have seen seen Kamran Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed throw away test matches for us just because of their lazy and shoddy glovework.

So why not focus on that? Why not focus on being the best you can be in areas where you actually have something to offer? Instead you decide to insult our intelligence by making us think he has ANY SKILL WHATSOVER as a T20 batsman.
