Sikandar Bakht on TV giving his $0.000001 on the reason for why Haris Sohail hasn't made any big scores so far:

"I think Haris Sohail isn't mentally strong. If we look at the past, I don't want to discuss this but I am just using it to explain my comments... He saw jinns and bhoots and disappeared for 2 years because of this illness of seeing things. He isn't that mentally strong. He plays for 3 months then disappears for 2 months and gets injured. His mental approach and concentration isn't strong though he has a good technique. He hasn't hit hundreds or any big scores. I don't like such players, the best players play long innings"

Why are such 'analysts' accepted on TV?

disappeared for 2 years because of this illness of seeing things

Was Haris seeing jinns and bhoots in his knee? As he was in England undergoing intensive, long-term rehab for months due to a knee injury, which kept him out of the game for a long time (not some mental illness ).

The media is just getting worse everyday. The worst part is that people actually listen to these 'experts' and believe what they say.

God these experts sharing there "expertise" is hard to bear. Its best just to avoid them.
Most times we Pakistan fans seem to know more than them.

Oh uncle, he has performed better than you. Please keep your mouth shut.

Then we wonder why Pakistan lags behind in progressive thought and care for people with any issues. These 'analysts' represent the nasty side of Pakistan. Wish they would go away.

Why is this guy given footage even on this site? It only makes this never-was more relevant.

Let it be known that this is the same guy who wanted Sarfaraz dropped and sacked after the first match of CT

Sikander bakht is an imbecile.

He’s linking the ghost story to him being injured for two years, what kind of idiotic logic is that?

They’re just sitting these donkeys down in front of the camera. Shameful, you’d think these former cricketers would have better insight.

Why is this guy given footage even on this site? It only makes this never-was more relevant.

When was the last time he was given any importance on PP? I can't recall.

The point here wasn't to air his views but to criticise the media and such 'analysts' for talking utter nonsense.

Trp stunt from very well known media channel who invite people like sikander bakht who just speak rubbish

Let it be known that this is the same guy who wanted Sarfaraz dropped and sacked after the first match of CT

Probably the only wise comment he has made..

Lol why so serious?

But it’s pity that whenever a person has some mental issues he is declared mad by the majority of our public. Ignorance at highest level.

Remember when this guy was actually decent? I'm talking 2011-2012. Now he's turned into a bhoot himself.

Lol what a joke. These guys are clowns. Abdullah719. The knee bit cracked me up lool. Couldn't stop laughing.

This is the incident in question.

Pakistan’s Haris Sohail traumatised after meeting hotel ‘ghost’ in New Zealand

Pakistan’s team management has said the all-rounder Haris Sohail was left visibly shaken after a ghostly encounter in a Christchurch hotel room.

Sohail fled what he believed was a supernatural presence which shook his bed at the Rydges Latimer hotel, taking refuge in the room of a team coach after the encounter earlier this week.

Pakistan’s team manager, Naveed Akram Cheeva, said that Sohail, 26, phoned a member of the coaching staff to say he had been woken by his bed being shaken. The coach rushed to Sohail’s room and found the player shaken and feverish.

Cheeva said management tried to persuade Sohail that the fever may have caused a nightmare but the player was adamant his experience was supernatural. The hotel’s management says it knew of “no active ghost” on the premises.

Cheeva said Sohail was examined by the team doctor after his encounter and found to be in good health.

“He’s OK and he’s concentrating on cricket as he should be,” he said. “He had a fever. We think it was the fever that caused it but the player still believes his bed was shaken by something and it was a supernatural something.”

Pakistan media reports said Sohail, who has played nine ODIs and three Twenty20 internationals, was so traumatised by the experience he has been unable to train and was forced to miss a one-day warm-up match against a New Zealand President’s XI.

Sohail took the field in a second warm-up game in Christchurch on Tuesday and made six runs from 25 balls. Pakistan’s captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, hit 88 not out but his side would lose by one wicket with one ball remaining; Michael Pollard leading the President’s XI to victory, finishing on 153 not out.

Sohail joins an elite group of international cricketers who have had ghostly experiences. Stuart Broad switched rooms at London’s Langham hotel last year after a ghostly experience. The England fast bowler said he had woken in the night and “all of a sudden the taps in the bathroom came on for no reason. I turned the lights on and the taps turned themselves off. Then when I turned the lights off again, the taps came on. It was very weird.”

Australia’s Shane Watson fled to the room of his team-mate Brett Lee after becoming spooked in his own room at the Lumley Castle hotel in County Durham in 2005.

By posting about him, he is being given importance. These folks have no shame. All publicity is good publicity for them. It is the equivalent of writing a zero star review about a movie which will only attract attention towards it. Calling someone mentally weak when he was legitimately injured is pathetic and losers like this guy do not deserve thread time on PP.

Was it Danny Morrison playing a prank?

He's doing fine, with a bit of luck he will exercise his demons and score a century this year if not this test.

No need to pay attention to this. Haris isn't mentally weak. Coming back from the injury he did, shows a lot of mental strength.

1) Complete disrespect for mental health issues
2) Sohail was out with a knee injury

Bakht really embarrassing himself with this hot take.

Severe Badam Doodh ki Zaroorat hay issay! How do channels even appoint such dimwits is beyond me

This guy played cricket for like 2 years but has been an expert on cricket for 2 decades.

Give him some time guys, he will IA do wonders for Pakistan. If we can give 9 years to players like Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahezad then surely Harris Sohail deserves a good run in our ODI/Test team.

LOL I have never laughed so hard :))

Can't believe what this guy says...

Afridi rightfully called Siqu Bhai as "Mr Bean"

But it’s pity that whenever a person has some mental issues he is declared mad by the majority of our public. Ignorance at highest level.

Dealing with mental illness is one of the most difficult things to deal with in life, your brain betrays you and often medicine/others are powerless.

Obviously, treating people with even mild mental illness poorly and like mad dogs is how to help people.

Sikander Bakht is so irrelevant that his family forget he exists.

Afridi is a bigger cartoon than Mr. Bean himself.

Don't think Afridi would have made a stupid statement than this about jins and bhoots about Haris Sohail tho.

Bakht has a point but he made it in the worst possible way.

i can see him going down Sarfraz route with regards to fitness and concentration.

this guy has a thing against seniors.

Siko and his hate for Haris goes long back.
Honestly he isnt different from some posters here who in their hate for some players go on length to criticize them with illogical reasoning.

I agree that he is mentally not strong, but it is not because of the reasons cited here.

Most of our formers are mentally deficient and don't know how to talk

He makes a sound argument. Haris Sohail, though bats pretty, throws it away more often . He isn't the batsman you would want in a test team batting at 3 perhaps at. 6 or 7 would suit him more .

Pathetic player. Looks pretty for a few runs and nothing more. A joke as a test number 3.

Hate is a strong word. How dare anybody criticise Haris.

Fact is ..he was touted as the ‘next big thing’...a ‘saviour’. Sorry to say he is anything but that. He is lazy & has fitness issues.

He deserves the criticism but hate is the right word when you criticize someone with illogical reasoning like Siko is doing here.

And calling someone one of the best players of fast bowling when they don't have single century outside of Asia is logical ?

He has lot of time playing fast bowlers and Mickey etc also have backed this.
One of the best players of fast bowling is my own view backed by his domestic innings (and you can say its bit over the top) but pathetic quotes like what Siko did is totally illogical and uncalled for. He was out for 2 years not because of njury but because he saw jinn bhoots. Wahh!!

One of the best in domestic but hasn't done anything in international cricket yet. He needs to get some big scores fast. People are losing patience with him.

People should be patient, they want him, Babar, Azhar, Imam all to be dropped. These things dont work with international teams. We don't have Bradman, Tendulakar and Lara in domestic who will replace them. Mostly people never give any solution just criticize the players, the same people will be asking the kids to be dropped who will take their place. Thats what I am against.

What exactly are this Siqu bhai's credentials to spew nonsense on television? Does anybody even remember him playing? It's like someone like Farhat or Iqbal sits on tv and acts like an expert a decade from now.

I’m a psychiatrist, and I have to say I have major reservations about Haris Sohail’s temperament.

He reminds me of Mansoor Akhtar thirty years ago.

He has the technical ability, but his shot selection is totally inappropriate for a Test batsman.

Why did he drive in the air to get caught when Pakistan needed to save the game?

If in doubt, skip a generation. I think Haris has had his chance.

And replace him with...?
I don’t actually care.

Pick the best top order batsman aged under 21, and stick with him.

That shot today was an absolute disgrace. If I was Mickey Arthur I’d tell Inzy that Haris Sohail has to go.

To be fair, Haris looks good while he is out there in the middle and plays like a batsman, of course he played a poor shot to get out , but then even the great Inzamam and Yousaf played poor shots when they got out.

Give me a player like Haris who at least resembles a top order batsman, over one who bats in top 3 but plays like a tailender suffering from constipation (not going to mention who).

Saad Ali doesn't deserve a chance ?

Fawad puts a big price on his wicket... he would’ve really frustrated the Jimmy & Barbie, we had a chance to win here in England ,if only on guy turned up.. even Azhar Ali has been ridiculously bad in his shot selection this tour, he ought to have takin more responsibility

Bro you know I rate youngsters like Saad , Usman and thnk they should be in the squad but my cricketing understanding says you cant just drop players after few test matches when they have done reasonably well compare to other much experienced batsmen from both sides. Saad and Usman should both be in squad that will keep Haris and Babar on their toes but I wont drop them just now.

Only batsmen in current batting line up whose place should be under immediate threat is imo Shafiq. 8 years of investment and now batting at the most easiest position but he still couldn't average more than 40.

Saad Ali should have played instead of Usman.

Yeah blame it on the new guy... What about your favorite Azhar Ali who was supposed to carry the batting. Looked like a tailender all series

Haris Sohail is 30-40 runs player. Good technique but lazy person, must be replaced by Saad Ali

oh here we go the shoaib malik defence..he looked good but unlucky. No..he isnt good enough..end of..he should have taken more responsibility. who told him to hit stupid shots at such a time? just doesnt have the goods to be a good test player..will always be a 30-40 oh he looked good player..

Haris Sohail averages almost 15 runs more than Shoaib Malik in first-class cricket. Not much of a comparison.

I am surprised to see experienced fans going down the route of wanting everyone dropped due to a couple of failures.

Funnily enough, Haris finishes the series as the top-scoring Pakistani... which really isn't good for our batting tbh, but that's what happens with an inexperienced team. The ones who SHOULD be under fire are the experienced seniors who are on their second or third tours of England and continue to fail.

I'm not blaming anything on anyone. I just wanted Saad Ali to be given a chance. Why are you crying about someone's opinion?

I was calling Azhar out on that match thread. All you do is "Sarfraz needs to score" that is the most you critizce your glorious leader .

Lol pathetic punditry from sikander bakht. Though haris does seem to have a mental issue when it comes to throwing his wicket away and playing loose shots. He always looks comfortable on the crease but just throws it away. Needs to overcome that hurdle

I have heard rumours that Haris being away for 2 years was due to politics in Sialkot

Maybe they should but when those seniors came onto the scene in similar conditions they made scores beyond 30. Haris cant get beyond 30-40 runs which shows a mental problem. He is very airy fairy outside his offstump. Too loose to survive in Test cricket if he carries on this way.
