"I want to develop a team that can chase scores of 325-350" : Inzamam-ul-Haq

Drops Sohail, keeps in Wahab and Malik if age is a factor.

Says Sami needs to up strike rate, brings in Shan Masood, Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali.

Biggest hypocrite. Looks like no integrity.

hafeez needs to be dumped man, if age is the factor! right?

btw, Keeping Sohail Khan off but giving chances to wahab, Junaid etc is just cruel!

Shehzad
Azhar
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfaraz...

...

Hahaha .....325 to 350?

Hahaha a bit more

He really hasn't.

He doesn't follow the rules he's setting for selection. Wants to remove older ODI players, selects Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez. Wants to play fast, picks Azhar Ali and Ahmed Shahzad.

I don't mind a selector having a specific opinion and following it.

Inzi doesn't do that. He's all over the place.

Ive been on this forum for years and ppers have never ever been happy with selection. Ever.
Inzi is trying his best. The problem he has is players are either corrupt or under investigation, younger players just arent ready yet and some players are just not able to hold a place. Therefore he has to turn to players who have shown some ability in the past.

I have not seen any side selected on this forum that can better Inzi's.

Who says all three are going to play in the same team? Fakhar Zaman is another opening option and should open with one of those three. Inzamam has selected a good squad that can utilize a number of strategies, the actual team selection is down to the team management.

If the team management plays 11 batsmen and opens the bowling with Hafeez and Malik, how is that the selectors' fault? This is what our batting-order should be:

1) Hafeez
2) Fakhar
3) Babar
4) Sarfaraz
5) Malik
6) Akmal
7) Imad/Shadab

A very top seven that can chase 300 down but our strategy should be keeping the opposition down to below 300 with four pacers + three spinners.

Why was sami aslam dropped from tests? if his replacement are shan masood and ahmed shehzad... shan masood being clouderson's bunny got dropped for sami at the first place..

why was sohail khan not selected but wahab riaz repeatedly selected.. only wahab's fielding is better than sohail's... primarily they are bowlers who can swing their bat at lower order... if sohail is dropped i dont see a reason why wahab is selected..?

why was azhar ali dropped and now called back?

kamran and shehzad selected based on their domestic performances.. they were selected and now one is dropped...?

shehzad's and azhar ali's problem were dot balls, have they improved to get a comeback..?

UA how many centuries has he scored in the domestics and how many times has he topped the run charts in domestics to earn a comeback...

Asif Zakir performed in first class but selected for ODIs why?

in the pak cup Umar amin, Haris sohail, Fawad alam and Sami aslam are the ones scored centuries why UA was selected ahead of the above mentioned names... why should they select players of their past glory neglecting the current form of UA and other players...

Aameer yamin finished two games as a finisher in the same pak cup but fahim's performances were poor in the same tournament comparatively so why not select aamer yamin then?

why should he wait till the last moment when you dont select any one who performed in the pak cup?

Pretty low bench mark you got there chief selector. Don't think that is enough.

Not selecting a fast bowling all-rounder is criminal and cannot be defended no matter how many excuses Inzy defenders come up with.

The opening pair of Azhar and Shehzad will be chasing 350+ in no time, I am sure.

:salute

What a timely bump, just as I mentioned this interview in that other thread. Great minds think alike :afridi

Anwar and Sohail were more aggressive in the 90s. Even other openers Pakistan tried like Nazir and Afridi could smash it. In the 80s, Majid and Sadiq were a far more dynamic openers. Azhar and Shehzad probably belong to the 70s era.

Mazid& Sadiq were more aggressive in 70s - point is not that. Even Azhar & Mudassar can be aggressive if required - once Rambo Raja scored 85 of 75 balls or so in Neheru Cup SF, in a rain curtailed match; because without trying, his Captain would have kicked his .....

The point is, PAK's CS talking all the right words with positive intentions ........ then picking 1-6 of Azhar, Ahmed, Babar, MoHa, Sarfu & Malik ............

Inzamam has selected a super squad for the Champions Trophy and it would have been even better if Sharjeel and Akmal hadn't been as idiotic as they turned out to be.

Had that happened, Azhar and Shehzad wouldn't have found a place in the current squad but no worries, as long as we select the right team and combination (Hafeez at #4 is a terrible idea), we can definitely reach the semi-finals of the CT and perhaps even end up winning the whole thing.
