What's new

"I want to help Pakistan win a World Cup" : Hasan Ali

Sorry I do not agree.

1. Worlwide Speed Guns are not of One standard. At some places it's +- 5, some places +-3.

2. Apparently there isn't any change in his speed as far as I see

3. The fastest 4 overs I saw of him were in PSL where in a 4 overs spell in one match He averaged 85-86 mph with peak speed of 89.4 mph

For a youngster these speeds should not be an Issue in even an Odi in first 4 overs but he hasn't looked that quick the way he did in PSL.

4. For his age 4 months of right diet & training would have been enough to increase 3-5 kph pace but his fitness is same the way it was 11 months ago.

5. Peak fitness and pace should come at 27-30 age bracket for him where he should be hitting 150kph. But I don't see it happening if he doesn't improve his runup and fitness.

6. 18 months ? I hope and pray it's not over by than. Next 9 Odi's are very important for him.
I don't concur;

As far as I've seen he's been looking a tad quicker than what he dishing out in England.

His fitness also is improving though it will take time for the signs to become notably visible.

First Odi of the series he played vs England.

See the speed of 1st 20 balls in the graph and see the speeds you mentioned he was bowling at in England.

You can disagree. I talk on my experience. Your experience might be more than me and might be more enriched both of playing aswell as viewing the beautiful game.

As I said I only watched him briefly and from what I saw the majority of the time he was bowling in the 130-135 kph range, but looks like I've been mistaken.

Hasan has 8 fivefers and 2 tenfers in FC.

5 of these fivefers and both tenfers are at Pakistani Perth Diamond Cricket Ground

while he has 2 fivefers at Jinnah Stadium Sialkot and 1 Fivefer at Bahawalpur.

In d27FC matches.

Definitely one of the best bowlers we have right now. Intelligent bowler. Has good variations. Good change of pace. Bowls in the late 130's consistently and even goes up to the early 140's. Definitely one for the future. He needs to work on his pace, build some muscle and he could be the best bowler in Pakistan.

Very impressed with Hasan Ali in this tournament. Bowling a consistent length, getting a bit of bounce of the surface and getting the ball to move in late.

Time for him to be called up into the Test team ?

Has been on fire with the new ball tonight. Never used new ball while playing for Pakistan?

I just hope they don't try to change what he is - a medium fast bowler who relies on line and length and accuracy.

Don't tweak his action.
Don't try to make him bowl faster
Don't make him change his approach

Just focus on his fielding.. his overconfidence sometimes lets him down

Hasan needs to shorten his run-up. He's losing momentum few yards before the crease.

On another note, he's bracing better. Good to see improvement there.

Great show of resolve and character from Hasan Ali in that last over.

Had a shaky start, bowled a wide but recovered to win us the match.

InshaAllah Hassan Ali will guides us to our maiden world cup win in England! 2019!

Boy has got ice in his veins.

Very coolhead for a young lad.

I thought he'd blown it in that last over when he went for 2 boundaries, but credit to him.

For once we've found a pacer who has potential stylistically as a bowler tailor made for the cricket being played these days

Thought Sarfraz handled the situation well. Unlike our other captains instead of being in Hasan's ear after the boundaries and the wide he allowed the young man to find his own way back.

its tougher to come back after giving away 9 runs in 3 balls defending 14 runs than to bowl a Good over from the beginning. Bowler and fielders just lose hope and give up. What Hasan Ali has shown today is stuff of champions.

Kid has arrived! By far the best pacer in CT.
That too by not bowling with the new ball because the team needs him more in middle and death overs.

Great team player. Love him <3

Prime opportunity to fulfill his dreams, he deserves it.

Where the haters at now?

Just gets better and better.

Great attitude and just goes out there to enjoy himself and give his all.

My only concern - playing him in all 3 formats.

Indeed an ATG. Yes in his peak he was fast and those who saw him Live say he could bowl some express deliveries aswell. One needs a certain physique to bowl Fast no matter how biomechanically efficient your action is or how fast your twitch muscles are you need a physique to go with it. That makes you consistently fast or express.

Amir looks very lean too but can generate pace

Today his last 2 overs went for just 6 runs. That's pure gold in T20 cricket.

Possibly Pakistan's best hope of winning the WC. Great bowling from him today. Rose to the occasion like a champ. Defending that below par score wasn't easy!

My favorite player currently.Sensational bowler.IA he will help us win our 2nd WC in 2019.

An on-song Amir is arguably better sight than on-song Hasan, but on-song Amir+Hasan leads to June 18th

I hope no injuries or other factors prevent us from playing Amir, Hasan and Shinwari in the 2019 WC... kisi mai ka laal nahi khel sakta aisi bowling ko

Insha Allah.Lets hope they all play, with Faheem as an allrounder and support bowler.

I'll tell you what. If PAK gets rid of Malik and Hafeez by the time the WC rolls around, PAK has a very strong chance of making the SF's.
Out of 4 WC's that have taken place in ENG, PAK has qualified for the SF's in all but 1. (75',79',99')
We already have the bowling covered as the pitches will offer reverse swing. Therefore, the squad needs to be pace-heavy and only 1 spin-option is needed.
XI: Fakhar, Babar, Haris, Sarfraz, Talat, Asif, Fahim, Shadab, Amir, Hasan, Junaid.
12th Man: S. Farhan
UKS and SSA as back-up pacers with Agha Salman as backup spin-bowling all-rounder.

No better sight than to see my boy swinging it. His vast array of skills were on display.

Can't wait till he gets his hands on a red ball in swinging conditions.

It makes no sense how Hasan isn't getting the new ball in international matches. The shape he gets is brilliant and I'd rather have him opening the bowling instead of Amir, because Amir only bowls back of a length on the pads not allowing the ball to swing.

Can't wait to see Hasan playing the test matches in England. Seeing him bowling 140 seaming the ball around both ways will be brilliant to watch, expect to see some stumps cartwheeling.

It makes perfect sense, plenty of teams have a quality new ball bowler (something we're not even sure if Hassan is as of now) but no team on earth has a pacer of Hassan's quality coming in the middle overs to relentlessly gun for wickets.

Make Hassan another run of the mill new ball see-off bowler and you lose the exact dynamic that won you the Champions Trophy.

To add to this, I feel playing test cricket will only improve his bowling. Will help him discover a whole new side to himself.

He's done well plenty of times with the new ball in PSL, what else does he have to do to get the reputation?

Hasan will own Ronchi on Sunday. That out swinger with the new ball is unplayable. How will ronchi play hasan? i think hasan will come on top if there is a little swing on offer.
