ICC strategic group report fears formation of rebel governing body

So, what you are saying the delivery mechanism (TV Channels in this case) is more important than the stakeholder that actually creates/organises the market.

Thus, Amazon should not claim the revenues it gets from creating the product, but it UPS/DHL should claim the majority of the revenue. Interesting analysis.

Why don't you present this idea to businessmen?
Precisely.

Why don’t you ask Borders Bookshops about Amazon? Or Virgin Megastore music shops?

The BCCI only has control of the players until some Indian Billionaire offers them a better deal.

At that point the BCCI will be penniless. Because all it really is is the temporary employer of elite Indian cricketers.

Better is debatable.

More money? Yes.

Sustainable? No.

In these cases, people go for the ones which is sustainable rather than for some short term gain.

Why will a Indian Billionaire do so? Indians by and large seem to be happy with what bcci is doing. Pakistanis seem to have problems, why will a Indian billionaire help PCB?

What makes you think bcci doesnot have a few billionaires in its own camp?

Do you know what happened to ICL?

Also, I have posted the same scenario in post #77 and shown why that would never work.

BCCI is the organisation responsible for Indian cricket, and as long as we dont reach the saturation point for cricket, it will keep getting stronger. And given the economy will keep growing for a few decades at a high rate, and that IPL has not even reached some of the smaller cities, the growth will continue for a while.

Yes I do.

The ICL is why there is an IPL.

But the BCCI used unlawful anti-competitive conduct (viz Shane Bond) to drive the ICL to the brink, and the rottenness of the ICL’s owners saw it descend into a nest of corruption.

We are already seeing in football that FIFA is essentially looking at stealing the big clubs from UEFA to steal the Champions League.

Sooner or later, Lalit Modi will be used by an Indian billionaire to buy up the world’s Top 200 players from the 8 big cricketing countries. The cost would be tiny by global sport standards.

Those players will play 6 months of the year in T20 tournaments in India, England and Australia. And 3 months of international cricket.

And it will completely destroy all the world’s Boards.

We all know that the IPL earns peanuts in gate receipts, and was barely different when played overseas.

I can imagine the expanded private league featuring Lahore Losers versus Mumbai Midgets from Doha.

And India v Pakistan from Leicester, Leeds and London.

The current model panders to BJP politics and the BCCI, but leaves huge amounts of untapped revenue as the India/Pakistan rivalry is neglected.

But that’s just making it easy for a private impresario to steal world cricket.

Giles Clarke got into bed with Allen Sanford and N Srinivasan, and begged for their favours. You can be sure that Indian cricket will be welcomed around the world as soon as the stadia and TV stations realise that the BCCI has lost the players.

Hats off to ur imagination and ur wishfull thinking..

As I said, in order for this to be a successful venture, they would not need to sign on continuous generations of talent. BCCI will simply stop that by altering the contracts. The reason BCCI is successful is the money it is pumping into cricket development in India. No billionaire, how much ever money they bring in, will not have the same reach. Even theoretically, your scenario fails.

The agenda finally comes out in the open.

Take a deep breath and be calm. Your dreams are not going to be fulfilled. Indian Billionaires are not here to fulfill the freams of a Pakistani poster on PP.

Rest assured, every political party supports boycott of Pakistan matches. Pcb is not going to get a dime out of the Indian market.

Indian cricket is already welcomed around the world. You need not worry.

Worry about PCB.
