Powered by explosive batting, multiple all-round options as well as pace-bowling resources, the two-time champions will be led by Shai Hope in the upcoming tournament.

Hope makes a comeback into the squad after having missed out on the recent T20I series against Afghanistan.

West Indies squad: Shai Hope (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Quentin Sampson, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd

Apart from this Sampson guy, fine squad. Alzarri Joseph should have been included.
Motie, Hosein and Chase can give you 10-12 overs of spin. Holder, Forde, Seales will lead the attack while Shephard can give 1-2 overs if needed.

I tell you what, don't write them off. They are a seriously dangerous team. They are what Pakistan used to be in this format.

Shai Hope has completely reinvented himself as a white-ball batsman and is in the best form of his life. Sherfane Rutherford is just coming off an incredible season in the SA20 where he won like 4 MOTM awards. Powell is pure brute force in the middle-order and then ofcourse you got a good mix of all-rounders with Romario Shephard, Jason Holder, Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie.

Even players like Hetmyer and Johnson Charles can deliver big on their day, but I'm not sure how well that pace attack will fare without Alzarri.

A team that can wake up from dead when it comes to ICC t20 tournament... Be scared.

Sammy is a brilliant man manager and with players like these at disposal, he needs to just ignite the players into a cohesive unit.
Hopefully they play Hetmyer at 4 and Powell at 5. If these 2 get going, things will become very tough for the opposition.

The concern for this team is the bowling - Motie and Seales/Shamar(not really T20 seam bowlers anyway) are out of form.

Apart from Seales and Shamar, the rest are all allrounders and just provide hitting depth rather than much bowling skill(Matthew Forde)

Just looking to load that batting lineup until #9 or even #10 and hoping for the best

And in that it's especially concerning is how expensive their bowlers are. None of them offer particularly good control. We saw how they got carted all over the place in the recent series against South Africa. Life isn't going to get any easier on Indian pitches.

They will need the batting to come to the party big time. Particularly their holy trinity of Hetmyer-Rutherford-Powell.

What a powerful looking squad. Romario Shepard and Matthew Forde alone can dismantle many teans. They are only missing Nicky P though.

Said this before, glad BD opted out of the tournament. They could've upset either WI or ENG and give easy wins to bigger teams. These teams are much more equipped to challenge bigger teams.

They are looking like a proper heavyweight.

Wouldn't be surprised if they win the World T20 for the 3rd time in their history.

T20 WORLD CUP

Cricket West Indies (CWI) wishes to provide an update regarding the departure arrangements for the West Indies Senior Men’s Team from India following their exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

CWI has remained in constant dialogue with the players, team management, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) since their last match against India. While the situation remains complex and fluid due to international airspace restrictions arising from security concerns in the Gulf region, CWI assures the public that every precaution is being taken to ensure the safe return of the team to the Caribbean.

During a high-level call earlier today involving CWI, ICC officials, a representative of team management, and a representative of the players, it was confirmed that a charter flight is currently being arranged for the team’s departure from India, with the expected departure scheduled within the next 24 hours. The departure time remains subject to final air traffic approvals.

The team remains safe and well as arrangements continue to be finalized.

Cricket West Indies reiterates that the safe return of our players and staff remains our highest priority.

They had a good team this year. They were looking good for semi but fell short.

In hindsight, they needed to beat South Africa. Had they done that, they could've been in the semi due to a better NRR.
