Dipendra Singh has given 100% extras of Nepal today which btw is only 2 :P

They saved Tamang for last smart move the dude was impressive against India,RR 7 now

If Momos beat macchi today its going to be very sad, slightly better over for Bangladesh.

BCB made a mistake by getting crowd in. Pressure is clearly a factor.

Yes the BCB should have put a ban on Bangladeshi fans entering the stadium so that the players don't feel nervous playing in a high pressure QF vs Nepal.

Lol what a pathetic display by bangla bros, so much for the so called favorites lol, they can't even beat Nepal :misbah

Nepal crumbles under pressure. That's the disadvantage of minnows

What are you talking about they are doing the needed no need to go for big shots and then loose wickets.

Sent from my SM-G925I

So Bangladesh is winning this match by a over or two. Well played Nepal

Looks like Bangladesh have this in the bag. Great knocks from Miraz and Zakir. Heartbreaking for Nepal but seems like they don't have enough quality bowlers to fill the 50 overs.

You were not that confidient a while ago.

Not impressed by this Bengali team at all to be honest. They should have completed this chase by 40th over.

Good performance by Bangladesh lads here but tbh the bowling of Nepalis is club level.

If they both play till end, surely they will win before 4 balls.

The problem is this approach leaves no room for error. At any stage if you get out it's big trouble.

They call this responsible, I think it's irresponsible and risky. They executed well and got a chance, so it worked, but they should not have taken such a risk against Nepal.

LOLwut? 40th over?

Did you forget that this is a quarter final against a team that beat NZ. And Bangladesh are under huge pressure because of expectation from the fans as well as the point how we choke in world cup U-19s.

And the pitch is very slow, ball does not come on to that bat easily. Heck even senior teams would't find it too easy to score 240-250 on these wickets. Do you know that India and SA have struggled to score even 250 last time they toured Bangladesh, who has a mediocre spin attack.

I was just being dramatic. Always knew Bangladesh were going to win. Bring on Pakistan.

Easy semi-final is coming for Bangladesh!!!!Both WI or Pakistan are hack team.

Personally i think they won't stand against a good bowling attack, and they will be in massive trouble if they need to chase 240+.

Well you are quite right. I too felt that they lacked urgency. However, you haven't watched the ability of the next 2 batsman in the side - Saeed Sarkar and Saifuddin both have muscles

LOL any team will struggle to chase 240+

At the end of the day, we won by 6 wickets and 10 balls remaining.

However I must say well done Nepal, fielded, batted, bowled very well and you needed to watch this match to claim how well they have played. Their RBW was poor though

BD top order sucks. Sorry, but that slow opener needs to be dropped, and promote Najmal from 4 to 3. You won't win with that batting line-up against India.

Nepal captain just gave one answer to 3 different questions.
"They rotate single very well. Thats the key" :)))

And i told analyst bro that BD would win before 4 balls :( i think i forgot to put before 4 balls of 2nd last ov :))

Congo brother, indeed a splendid win.

Lol, I am totally aware of that this was a quarter final, but they way some of the arrogant Bengali fans have been hyping up Bangladesh you would expect an emphatic win over Nepal, hence my response...

What arrogance? This BD team is hyped up by non BD fans too and for good reasons

Good head on their shoulders this batch. Senior team would have probably choked.

Most of the other matches seem to be high scoring affairs, except the BD ones.

Arrogance, well I think before the tournament even started pundits reckoned that BD and India are the two favourties for winning the tournament. Think about the Comms, Athar didn't say much about the U-19 side but Russell and Sanjay said that they feel that Bangladesh are good enough to go on to the final, maybe even to win it.

Yes, I did expect a more emphatic win that what happened, but it was largely due to Nepal's brilliance. Their bowlers bowled very few extras, their fielding was good. And the youngsta beauty Rajiul scored a very good innings and quite matured as well, as if he was a senior statesmen.

No doubt we were made to struggle, but I feel to really guage the quality of teams, you have to see the final output. e.g. India were 45-4 against Ireland, then went on to win by 100 runs. Today, Bangladesh managed to escape with a victory against a very good Nepal side. If anything, people are taking away the credit from Nepal. Nepal had one of their better performances today, Bangladesh had an average one.

Having said that, I expect us to face Pakistan in the SF and it will be safe to say that it will be a great encounter

Host Bangladesh defeated a valiant Nepal by six wickets after a tense run-chase to storm into the semi-finals of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 on Friday, giving the nation its maiden appearance in the last four of a world event.

Skipper Mehidy Hasan and Zakir Hasan hit unbeaten half-centuries as Bangladesh recovered from early setbacks to surpass Nepal’s 211 for nine with 10 balls to spare in Mirpur. The match was produced by ICC TV and aired around the world by 15 broadcasters.

Bangladesh faces the winner of Monday’s quarter-final between Pakistan and the West Indies in the second semi-final at Mirpur on 11 February. The first semi-final on 9 February in Mirpur will feature the winners of quarter-final matches between India-Namibia and England-Sri Lanka.

Nepal’s captain Raju Rijal hit 72 (80b, 8x4, 1x6) after winning the toss and electing to bat, but four run-outs in the innings, including that of the captain himself, set his team back.

Nepal slipped to 178 for seven in 43 overs but useful contributions in the end from Dipendra Airee and Prem Tamang, who made 22 apiece, lifted it past the 200-run mark.

Right-arm seamer Mohammad Saifuddin was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, giving away just four runs in the final over to return with figures of two for 38.

Bangladesh, mentored by former Australia international Stuart Law, was made to fight hard for runs as Nepal’s bowlers conceded just 21 runs in the first 10 overs.

The home team was reduced to 98 for four in the 29th over when Mehidy joined Zakir to add a match-winning partnership of 117 for the unbroken fifth wicket.

Left-handed Zakir, who scored an unbeaten 75 from 103 balls, ended the match by lofting Airee for a six over long-on. He also hit five fours. Mehidy returned undefeated on 55 from 65 balls which also included three fours.

“It is so exciting to be part of the first Bangladesh team to enter the semi-final of a World Cup,” a jubilant Mehidy said, adding: "I think Nepal played a very good game. They did their best with both bat and ball. They are a very good side that we have beaten today.

“Zakir played so well and kept supporting me. He told me that we should try to take singles and twos because the boundaries were not easy to get. That worked well for us.

“We look forward to the semi-final. Hopefully we will raise our game and do our best to enter the final.”

Nepal’s Rijal rued his side’s inability to put up a bigger total.

“The four run-outs and the loss of five wickets in the middle overs cost us at least 25-30 runs. If we had got those runs we would have fought till the end.

“But I am proud of the way the team has played in the tournament. Our aim is to finish with a good placing.”

In the Plate Championship quarter-finals, Afghanistan trumped Fiji by 226 runs after opener Karim Janat smashed 156 off 132 balls with 12 boundaries and six sixes.

Afghanistan piled up 340 for nine after being sent into bat and Fiji was shot out for 114 in reply. Nijat Masood claimed three wickets for six runs in six overs and Rashid Khan took three for 16.

A fine all-round performance by Jeremy Ives helped Zimbabwe defeat Canada by six wickets in another Plate quarter-final in Cox’s Bazar.

Ives claimed three for 30 as Canada were restricted to 186 for eight after electing to bat. Amish Taploo top-scored with 37.

Ives then returned unbeaten on 43 after Zimbabwe cruised home in the 32nd over, with Shaun Snyder making 56.

They would be ok I think. Shanto missed out today and he's by far their best batsman. At this level, he's absolutely monstrous. Averages 50 in FC cricket at age 17, has all the shots, very cool temperament. He's much better than even Liton Das was two years ago.

Their bowling is very strong as well, so if they bat first they will be imposing. I think India is much stronger but other than that these guys should easily make finals.
