Bowling is very poor but apart from Vaibhav there is some other promising batsmen too.

Whole point in u-19 is to discover some players. This batch has batters maybe next will have bowlers. Rarely you get u-19 that covers all bases.
Our bowlers rarely come from U-19 setup . I don't think Bumrah, Shami or Siraj were U-19 bowlers

At least not out long format bowlers.

I am capable of thinking for myself and disagreeing with Bishop's judgement of when he was in full control.
Did you see how Khilan Patel ensured the ball didnt touch the ground despite him him being in a worse position than Farhan and using his same hand to balance himself? This is the last English wicket to fall, in case you wanted to check the replay.

Great win for India. Suryavanshi is definitely a top talent and should be playing for India soon.

Falconer looks a top talent too.

For Pakistan- Sameer and Abdul subhan seem to be the only guys with true potential
Also Ali Raza, rhythmic runup, good drive through the crease, good pace at this age & with age and more strenght can increase, your coaches need to rightly nurture such guys

Ali raza and Sayam are pretty ordinary and I don’t expect too much from them

Ali raza had some pace when he played PSL and last u19 wc but he has regressed a lot. This WC he was too slow with not so much control. He also has too many issues with seam position (unable to swing even a bit)

Quiet a coincidence. India has not played single player from 2022 batch.
Because Rahul Dravid made the rule that every U-19 world cup squad will always have new/fresh players and i think since batch of 2012, we always have had new guys for each WC

Ali Raza will always be the superior prospect, brother. Subhan has very little chance of making it at the elite level.

The issues you mentioned are not permanent. Ot at least shouldn't be.

India is fast becoming the greatest tournament team ever. Australia is ahead now. In 10 years india will get there
Limited overs wise if India win 2026 wt20 and SA 2027 wc and 2028 t20 wc I would say they are there. So achievable in 2 years

But to really match Australia stature India will have to dominate and win World test championship as well

Wtc is a fake icc tournament as it is a one off match in alien conditions. It is not a tournament first of all. Tournament matches happen at the same country

Indian Cricket on a roll, already turned into a financial juggernaut but now look at their recent ICC achievements

- Two test series win in Australia
- 2024 T20 WC Champions
- 2025 CT Winners
- Multiple U19 WC winners
- Womens ODI WC champions

That’s true. I meant to match the stature of the great Aussie team/ WI team India will have to dominate in tests. Currently their weakest format

Under 19 Indian team ke liye credit tu banta hai, been a dominant team ahead of the rest seeing all the consistent titles they have won.

Seems far better than their choker senior team :afridi

India can never reach a final with full preparation. It almost always falls right after IPL. Both NZ and Australia were already in England prior to watch final playing long formats. They are in transition anyway. Right now series wins will do.

After the tournament started, i knew we might make the semis but had no hope after that.

Its the little things that you sometimes see that make the difference.

for instance - Aaron's reaction after scoring 100 and he got out in semis vs afg, 10-12 runs to go and he wanted to go the distance, not satisfied with the 100...

Today Henil after missing the first chance - caught and bowled ....could see the fire, the disappointment, the hunger

Ramanujan Sukumar Ambrish - off to a slow start but you could see the fire in his eyes, the desire to throw himself, the lengths he bowled was brilliant....and I believe he must be one of the unsung heroes of oour team

Abhigyan and Vedant - showed resolution, patience in spades..

these things showed the hunger, committment and desire...

We won this tournament playing much like how New Zealand play for a long time, the collective sum of the parts being enought to defeat any outstanding talents of the opposition or the spirit/intensity overriding any lack of skills of ours...

There has to be something right about our system, Whatever we might call the gadzillion guzzling BCCI - they HAVE taken some right steps...

Cheers - This was so Suweettt!!! :salute :Dah

@Bhaag Viru Bhaag

Did'nt see you bro - here or last sunday or in semis etc....

must be a bit of a change for your from the usual ' Sunday Learn' to have this 'friday learn'....or you have now renamed Sunday as 'Learn- day' considering the repeated Dhurandhar Learns in recent times? :)

A staggering century from 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fired India to ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup glory as they overcame England by 100 runs in the final.

Opener Sooryavanshi blasted 15 fours and 15 sixes in his brutal 175 from 80 balls, recording the highest individual score in the history of finals in this competition.

Captain Ayush Mhatre (53) and wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu (40) also made valuable contributions as India racked up 411 for nine.

England made a promising start in reply but a middle order collapse proved costly, with Caleb Falconer’s brilliant 115 in vain as India completed a record-extending sixth ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup triumph.

Sooryavanshi runs riot in Harare

India elected to bat upon winning the toss and their boy wonder did not take long to justify the decision.

Sooryavanshi lost the company of opening partner Aaron George early but quickly hit his straps, taking 18 off the ninth over – bowled by James Minto – as he sped towards a 32-ball half century.

He kept his foot on the accelerator, three sixes and a four arriving in successive deliveries off Farhan Ahmed at the end of the 17th over, while skipper Mhatre was in fine form himself during a 142-run stand.

Mhatre brought up his half-century with a straight six but fell to the next ball, giving Alex Green his second wicket.

The respite was brief, however, as Sooryavanshi completed a remarkable 55-ball century before taking 27 from a Ralpie Albert over on his way to 150.

His unforgettable knock was brought to an end on 175 when he was caught behind attempting a slog sweep off Manny Lumsden, having comfortably gone past Dewald Brevis’ record for the most sixes at an ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. Sooryavanshi’s 15 maximums took him to 30 for the tournament, surpassing the South African’s tally of 22 from 2022.

Minto took three for 63 as England began to fight back with the ball but Kundu’s 40, along with Kanishk Chouhan’s 37 not out from 20 balls, helped take India past 400 as they recorded the highest team score of this year’s tournament.

England lost Joe Moores for 17 in the fifth over of the chase, but Ben Dawkins and Ben Mayes added 74 for the second wicket, the latter passing Sooryavanshi to finish as the competition’s leading run scorer before he was caught in the deep for 45.

Captain Thomas Rew, fresh from a match-winning century in the semi-final against Australia, followed for 31 and Dawkins’ subsequent dismissal for 66 sparked a collapse as England lost four wickets for three runs in the space of eight balls.

That left the score at 177 for seven but Falconer was in no mood to give up the fight and smashed the second superb century of the match, reaching the landmark with his sixth maximum and following up with another for good measure.

Falconer was England’s last hope as he took his side to the 40-over mark with 105 needed and just one wicket left. Two balls later, a fine diving catch from Khilan Patel from the bowling of Chouhan completed India’s victory, Falconer falling for 115 to spark wild celebrations for India’s next generation of stars.

Scores in brief

England 311 all out in 40.2 overs (Caleb Falconer 115, Ben Dawkins 66; RS Ambrish 3/56, Kanishk Chouhan 2/63)

Result: India win by 100 runs

Whether India wins WTC or not, I like to see India do well in test matches overcoming the current slump.

This is quite insane actually

Let’s promise to hug/ handshake on 15th and Naqvi gives you the cup before the toss..
Handshake drama was childish, we should have shake the hand apart from racists Faheem or even avara.

We did not stop shaking hands even while fighting the Kargil War and playing the 1999 World Cup.

Not received the trophy from NAQVI was justified.

True if it was specific to Faheem and Mo Naqvi it could have been justifiable but Surya overdid it
