Last T20 WC in India had huge viewers for every match... In 1996 WC and even 2011 to some extent had decent viewers even for non-India matches. In future you will see decliding crowd for bilateral ODIs too in India (at least in non-metro cities). Already viewers are less for tests even at A-Stadiums (Ahmedadabad, Kolkota, etc).

People need to earn these days in India (everyone at home), cost of living has increased. They don't have that much liesure... Also so much media around (especially internet & phone) they can follow cricket off the stadium that too with such extensive coverage with great camera angles & closeups!

I still remember the QF Match between Australia & NZ in 1996 in Chennai. It had record crowd cheering and Chris Harris was shocked to see the reception for his innings! Even Eng vs WI T20 finals recently had brilliant crowd cheering for both the teams.

So look at things realistically...!
