You mean 2014 IPL? He was a failure in that season as well. He scored 90+ runs three times and all those were in UAE. He didn't score even a fifty in the 2nd leg of that season, which is in India. I closely followed that IPL season. It was Miller who took them to the finals.

Answering his question. Mashrafe made the team believe when it was needed. He was never a great tactician but a good leader.

But today was the real challenge for him, to motivate the boys and he failed. He looked dead inside, and since he failed when we needed him to motivate us, it defeats every positive thing i have said about it. Its like Sharjeel, does well in domestic but when Pakistan need him to get a flying start, he fails.

Which means - If PAK beats Kiwis, by say 15 runs, Both IND & AUS 'll need to win both their matches ..............

But, I take both IND, NZ winning against us - which means, if PAK loses to AUS, they are out, because -

After PAK-AUS (AUS win) & IND-BD (IND win) - PAK 'll end with 4 points (provided that they beat Kiwis), while IND-AUS 'll play each other on 4 points each.

Unless, BD beats IND or PAK wins both : AUS-IND is going to be the QF. There is a small chance that BD can upset Kiwis on Eden turner, but that won't help PAK, if they lose to NZ & win against AUS.

As I see, the Group stands as NZ, IND, AUS, PAK, BD - but it'll be much clear after PAK-NZ match. Not impressed with Aussies - if PAK-AUS goes in a eliminator, I 'll back PAK if Afridi some how misses the eliminator; if he plays, I back AUS to beat a team led by a shallow character.

He should retire from t20 format but I still believe he should play till CT 2017.
