"If a player doesn't score in 3-4 games, it does not mean his ability is gone" : Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal speaking after his 87 today for WAPDA in the OD Cup

"All my hard work in offseason and the fact that I have been playing club cricket has helped me a lot"

"Credit to our team WAPDA that we got to the QeA final this year and are now in OD Cup final too"

"We didnt get disheartened by the QeA final defeat and the boys have done well to get to the final of OD Cup"

"Our [WAPDA] performance since last 3 years has been very good"

"When I perform well for WAPDA, then the selectors will also take notice"

"Cricket wont end with the tour of NZ, there is more cricket to be played after that and I hope that whether its Shan Masood, Ahmed Jamal or Mansoor Amjad - whoever performs well will be given a chance to play for Pakistan by selectors"

"We should realize that we didnt win the CT in UAE or Pakistan, we won that in England so we should take that same confidence in our games in NZ"

"We should play with a positive mind and not be scared; we should have self belief"

"This team has a lot of confidence as these are players who were there in the CT"

"Every player in the team needs to think carefully about their own role in the team"

"Every player is responsible for the teams performance and one player should not be targeted for criticism, whether he is a captain or just a player"

"He has performed well before so he has the ability; not scoring well in 3-4 games does not mean his ability is gone"

I don't get it, what is Kamran trying to prove? He has had an immense International career as a player with both highs and lows? Whenever he goes on the International circuit, he impresses, and then makes some really poor mistakes which are very hard to overloook. What does he get from all this?

Is he stilll trying to get in Sarfi's good books for a place in the side?

Think he's being fair to all.

He mentioned Shan also ...

So what about the "three chances" he keeps prattling on about?

So why were you asking for three more chances ?

Are we extending the number to 10 now ?

I respect Kamran's domestic form but the horse has bolted as far as his international career is concerned.

True Kami...but you asked for last 3 chances after you were given a million of them before. These brothers should seriously never be picked because of their poor attitude. Both have never accepted that they've been below average and are full of lame excuses. They will never improve.

Why stop at 10, why not 20 or 50 ? and what about the chances given so far ?

20+ would do no good. 3 were too less. He clearly can bat a bit better than that.
He was never backed as a genuine batsman. But he did his part here and there.
