It's the question in the title...

Just a question in general...

Had say the Jews lost in 1948...and the Jordanians for instance taken what is now Israel, the West Bank and Gaza would there be uproar from you today if there was a Palestinian nationalist movement in place that wanted it's own state?...remember the Arabs opposed partition not because of the Palestinians but because they wanted to increase their own land...the annexation of the West Bank and Gaza show that...

Let's say one day the Muslims get their Caliphate back and annex what is now Israel, the West Bank and Gaza would you be opposed to the move?...

Or let's say Arab nationalism made a return and an Arab state or group of Arab states took the land and annexed it?...

Cos obviously if the Israelis are going to be defeated its going to be done militarily...and in that case you would be naive to think that that in any way would result in statehood for Palestinians...

The Ottomans fought against both Turkish and Arab nationalism...is this something that you view as treasonous from the nationalists or do you side with their desires to break away from the Empire?...

If one believes in self determination, and people (as a recognised group with a separate identity and heritage) having the right to choose, then yes, I would support the right of Palestinians to have their own separate state from Jordan, Lebanon or whoever, as long as there is some (reasonable historical timeframe) basis behind it, such as having lived there, as a majority, for hundreds of years.

I say reasonable historical timeframe since one has to draw the line somewhere, else the Red Indians would have the right to claim all of North America, thereby kicking out anybody who's ancestors migrated there in the last few hundred years. And similar for many other regions around the globe, such as Australia. And in that regard, being kicked out of the land many thousands of years ago, and/or the land was promised to them in their holy book written centuries ago, is not a valid enough reason.

I would not support either.I do not want an Arab country to annex Israel,West Bank or Gaza because these areas will then become another Iraq,Syria or Afghanistan from where many militant groups will emerge and spread their toxic ideologies.
The case of annexation by caliphate-proclaiming group like IS will be more devastating.

Not really sure what you are saying here to be honest. Is it your view that if the Arabs defeated the Israelis, they still wouldn't recognise Palestine and would instead annex the whole area to existing Arab states?

That's exactly what they intended and that's also what they did...

The discussion when Arabs have invaded has never been about Palestinian statehood...in 1948 the intention of the Arab states was to gain land...the Partition plan was of no interest...the Jordanians did gain land which they annexed (the West Bank)...and the Egyptians gained Gaza which they annexed...there was no discussion about creating a Palestinian state...

It would be what the Russians did with the Crimea except in that case the Crimea actually wanted to be part of Russia...

Its a thought experiment anyway...the Arabs would not invade now...Egypt and Jordan have peace treaties...and Syria only has an interest in getting Golan back...

Every country looks after its own benefits.. Arab states won’t be any different.. But I agree with Yossarian point about right to self determination.. Anyways these are hypothetical scenarios the practical scenarios for peace are probably something different..

Most Palestinians I've mwr identify as Muslim first so they would have no qualms of joining another Muslim country

Only if they would take them in.

Palestinian exodus from Kuwait (1990–91)

After the Gulf War of 1991, nearly 200,000 Palestinians fled Kuwait, partly due to economic burdens, regulations on residence and fear of abuse by Kuwaiti security forces. The policy which partly led to this exodus was a response to the alignment of PLO leader Yasser Arafat with Saddam Hussein.

Why Jordan Doesn't Want More Palestinians

By mistreating the Palestinians and depriving them of their basic rights, Jordan and other Arab countries are driving them into the open arms of extremists, especially Islamist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Jordan, Lebanon and Syria can continue their practices against Palestinians without having to worry about the responses of the international community or the media. No one is going to take to the streets of European and American cities to condemn Arabs for mistreating Arabs.

Face it - the Palestine issue is an international orphan, and is only used by foreign Muslims to find a calling in these tough times. When it comes to actually helping them as a fellow Muslim or an oil-rich, sparsely populated Gulf state? Yeah nah not happening.

Its a real shame, Palestinians are some of my favourite people, the muslims and the christians. Same goes for Kurds.

Something about the struggle of a community really brings out a high standard of character in those communities that is taken for granted in other general populations.

Unfortunately taking of lands and leaving the local populous within a humanitarian crisis has been the gold standard for thousands of years, Palestinians are just one of the more recent ones.

Personally i think Israel annexing the area is a brighter long term future compared to an Arab nationalist or Islamic movement, all we have to do is look at the last 40 years in the middle east.

Nope would not oppose it at all. The land belongs to the Arab's so they have every right to fight for it.
