If given the choice to drop one who would it be Babar Azam or Mohammad Rizwan?

Who should PCB drop from the team?

If you had to keep one, which would it be, the reality is I do not see either being dropped, even though they deserve to be dropped, both should spend some time in domestic and work on there game. but if you where given the choice who would your drop

I was a big fan of both initially when they came onto the world stage, but both have proven to be big failures.

Personally I would not know which one I would chose if given the choice.

Both in LOIs, Rizwan can be retained in tests.
Going forward Rizwan and Babar have no place in T20 and ODI especially given ODI World Cup is in 2027 and I don't see either one playing till then. T20 World Cup is next year but in any case neither should be part of Pakistan T20 team effective immediately.
I don't mind if both are still part of our test team as that's the format they have produced and may continue to produce in the near future.

Babar has definitely fudged his age by a good 3-4 years. He is done and dusted...he has neither the character nor the mental toughness to come back to his best.

Pakistan should look elsewhere. Their 'project Kohli' has failed badly.

Rizwan. He is a poor white ball cricketer. He has very few shots and struggles to manipulate field in ODIs and struggles to power hit in T20s..

instead of focusing on project kholi if they had focused on project babar he would have done much better. He is a good bat, just not as good as some of the best in the business.

Drop both, and while you are at it kick out SSA, Haris and Naseem.. enough of this pathetic cowardly bunch..

He hasn't fudged his age. He's born in Lahore in a hospital which wouldn't allow you to fudge your age.

Age fudgers like ifti are typically from an undeveloped pathani region. Not a big city like lahore, karachi etc.

He is 30 years old however he doesn't take his fitness seriously and has developed a pot belly. His lack of fitness has turned his lethargic and slower reactions which makes him look and appear significantly older then he really is.

He's comfortably younger then starc, Smith, Travis head, rohit, kohli etc. However these guys are fitter except for rohit who's let himself go fitness wise but rohit's appetite for runs never decreased, he's always looking to smash it which is why despite being out of form, he'll occasionally smash it and have a good day.

It's a tough question and depends on the format.

T20Is/ODIs

I would keep Babar BUT only if Rizwan is getting dropped. I don't think a winning XI can be formed with these two in the same batting order. They suck the life out of an innings when batting with each other.

If you're keeping Rizwan as captain then Babar has to sit and work on his game.

Test Cricket

In Tests, I would keep Rizwan. There's real value to having a great keeper like him too. But Babar can come back too after he regains form in domestic cricket.

If Rizwan bats at 6 or below, I think he can be less harmful. Pakistan needs a keeper, anyway.

When the captions more interested in being a religious preacher and his first priority is to find a place for prayer and propagating religion then the team is bound to fail.

Babar is still Pakistans best batsman.

From T20s??? Both
From ODIs - Riz
From Tests - Babar

Although I think time has come to drop both

It has to be babar unfortunately since rizwan is a keeper. Pakistan should invest in a new wk talent however

Babar Azam is Rahul Gandhi of Pakistan team..even after multiple failures he will still be kept in the team and action will be taken on others surrounding him and he will be projected as so called competitor of Virat Kohli who the Modi equivalent of cricket even though he has certain dip in form equivalent of Modi 2024 loksabha performance..

I am not a fan of BABAR or RIZWAN, but honestly PAK doesn't have a batsman of that caliber in their team to replace them. If there is a chance to drop, I will suggest it should be Rauf, Imam UL Haq. Rauf helped IND team many times, specially in death overs.

Maybe 3 years ago I would have said keep Babar and remove Rizwan.

However, the wicked side of Babar Azam I have seen in the past couple of years, and his stubbornness to promote his agency, and protect his friendship with Rizwan, and his stubbornness to do injustice to his batting positions in T20 as an opener….sorry mate you are guilty of crimes to Pakistan cricket! You have to go!

Babar azam reminds me of when I first started playing cricket on ps5. I use to be so bad at online matches. Just use to front foot drive everything even though my opponent kept bowling short 🫠.

Babar is a simulator at this point

That would be the ideal situation, but I dont see Pak dropping both, there could be a chance where 1 gets dropped for a certain format.

PCB is too pissed off this time.

Fear both the Harvard returns Riz-Bob might be dropped for next entire series of 2 match T 20 cricket. :inti

Moin Khan during a media interaction:

"Look no one is saying they are not good players but every player no matter who he is has to justify his place in the side on consistent performances."

"Specially with the social media nowadays because when selectors drop a senior or not-so-senior player there is criticism on why he was dropped. When the team doesn't do well the same players are brought back and we keep on losing. So we are headed nowhere."

Dropping Rizwan will be a bigger loss than losing Asif and Amir after the spot fixing scandal. People will laugh at this but please go ahead and bookmark this. We will revisit this in 2 yrs. Babar well he should be the mainstay in odis and tests at least for a while. He had a good SA tour and only guy who looked like he belongs.

You can only do that if you have better players to replace them
I am sure we would have many but not getting any chance to represent Pakistan, once our system will start giving priority to the merit u wil see number of talented players would be playing for Pakistan.

Drop anyone who is close/friend / family with misbah… if you cant play agressive cricket. There is no room for you on the team.

If only one I would drop Babar, I would be fine with both being dropped though. Not won any ICC tournament since CT17. If you keep making early exits in tournaments spanning years you’ve banked on the wrong horses.

In terms of what Moin said, unfortunately this is what happens, they try few players for one series and bring back the same failing seniors after a little rest. It’s a vicious cycle of failure for Pakistan.

Neither should be dropped from any format.
