What's new

"If I get a chance, I’ll play my natural game and give 100% for the team.": Usman Khan

Where is the proof he is better than Usman and Salman in the middle?

Your fantasies?

How could that proof be provided?.... let him have a run akin to Salman et al- I would think he would do far better.

Salman, UK and Haris before him are not consistent enough- i really want them to succeed but the solidity added by having Rizwan and Babar in a lineup BUT used appropriately is the answer.

The lineup needs flexibility, after the openers, the lineup should tailor the match situation or need and having 4 batsman like Babar, Fakhar, Rizzy and one more big hitter allows you to go in many directions.

I would also like Maaz in there somewhere.

You talk about fantasies but all we hear is insanity.... e.g. Haris, let us keep trying him and expect different results- foolhardy.

Well guess You are new to know that Don Riz is a self proclaimed #4. Search it. His wish is PCBs command.
Not a no 4... number 5 is the highest he should bat.

For me, 3-6 should be malleable in T20 to maximise matchups and the match situation.

I here you but as I was saying to Corleone above we should be mixing our openers at the world cup. So in some games play Rizwan in the lower middle order and in other games play him as an opener with Babar.

Certainly disgaree with either Rizwan or Babar opening.

Openers need to lay the intent. Babar and Rizzy are more like the safety nets to ensure competitive totals.

I would only use them down the order or in line with the match need- get a flyer, push them down, lose early wickets- consolidate etc.

What do you mean let him have a run?

Where does the sense of entitlement come from? When he knew he was out of Pakistan’s T20 plans…why did he rebel by playing every game for Multan Sultan’s as an opener? He was the captain, why didn’t he himself ever take the initiative when he had the power?

The issue is, we have fantasists who think that by backing "aggressive players" over rizzy or babar is the way, i say a combined approach is needed.

They can be an effective safety nets.

Even the final vs India- salman, harris- just a let down....

Entitlement?

I wanted Salman, UK or even Haris to suceed but they just do not seem capable- odd showings aside, they just are not showing it enough

Idiot fans? It is more the fan boys who back one hit wonders or players who have a SR similar or WORSE to Rizzy or Babar- now that is supreme idiocy!!

I don’t understand this sudden push to include Rizwan in the side when Pakistan have been vastly better without the two selfish who had dragged us down the the pits of mediocrity and rubbish!

And if you really want to push for his case as a middle order batter over guys who have proven their worth in the middle….then provide SOLID PROOF that Rizwan is better for the roles 4 or 5 in T20 cricket over Agha and Usman Khan, or Hussain Talat or Fakhar Zaman or wherever!

Not your fantasies. Not your daydreams. Solid, irrefutable proof!

Vastly better- please explain(factually) and not with childish emotion or statements, please.

The thing is- whoever plays for Pakistan, i want them to suceed and do well- so the team wins.

Even if Babar or Rizzy are not selected, i want the replacements to succeed and do well... the main aim is for Pakistan to win, even if that is by playibg your wacky, one hit wonder, childish approach- so be it!

Well then how about you factually explain how Rizwan is more suited to the middle order over Salman or Usman? It’s you who’s built a case on your dreams and ambitions.

We’ve seen the consequences very clearly of how Pakistan cricket has been destroyed Enough is enough!

If the other guys can get the job done, sure... no issues, i would look at the replacements and what are their averages/SR? "Vastly better"? At present,no way near at all, laughable to even suggest but that is the pervasive influence of youth in shouting the loudest or spamming a gazillion posts

Out of all of this gibberish,

Where is the PROOF Rizwan is suited to the middle order in T20 over Agha and Usman??

It’s a simple bloody question! The World Cup is around the corner. Where is the proof for you to say Rizwan plays ahead of Agha and Usman???

For the next WC, the DUO Will be selected. Babar fans have a disappointment waiting in all likelihood on SL spin friendly pitches Rizwan if played according to his wish @4, then Pakistan deservingly will have back to back WC early exit.

He has not been tried in the middle order.... yet.... plays ahead for me on the basis of- are Salman and UK's records acceptable in terms of Ave and SR- no... if they get there, no issues with them at all. Rizwan v good ave and decent SR as an opener but needed shifting down the order or played with the match situation.

Unlike you, wirh personal hates or dislikes- i could not care less who pkayed in the team IF their records merited it- if they do not, you need to try alternatives that on balance of probability would give you a better and more solid option.

I know that is hard for you to follow and you will post some cute or cool cgildish response but we need the best combination or keep trying for the middle order

If he want to bat at 4, he should not play, 5 is the highest he shoulf be...

There you go.

So now, He prepares for the next World Cup in 2028, and finds the role in the middle if that’s where he wants to bat by proving it in his domestic/franchise commitments.

Is that clear?

Clear?

So, do you think Salman and UK T20I records are good enough to be incumbent placeholders?

Or will you shy away from answering or shoehorn Rizwan into your reply?

I see no reason why players who have actually played in the middle order during the domestics or wherever they are asked to play for in Pakistan and simply got on with it should be shifted for a selfish piece of trash like Rizwan or Babar.

I have no problem with Talat, Agha, Usman, Nawaz…even Iftikhar for that matter if they are asked to play in positions where they have proven themselves in domestic cricket.

Rizwan has proven himself to be a useless T20 opener. That’s it.

Well done, you did not answer such a simple question. Was expected.... lol.

And I do hope he has a dream WC In sha Allah and lifts it for Pakistan.

The best guy you can name atm is Nafay, who is a regular keeper... No one else should be discussed atm as a backup keeper...

nay... Nafay deserves a chance... He has performed in various leagues... Can be tried...

Farhan and Ayub will be the better
combo when we are batting first and the opposition is weak

It’s an international cricket match, not a PlayStation game! You don’t just shift players/openers around based on the total.

How is it that the openers capable of targeting 9/10 runs per over are not equipped to target totals that are 5-6 runs per over? 🤡

Arey akal ke dushman there is a difference in facing Zimbabwe/SL bowlers during the first innings and setting a target. and facing the likes of Hazelwood when chasing a score of 130.

and facing the likes of Hazelwood when chasing a score of 130
You don’t apply the same standards when facing Bumrah and Co for other players.

So who was it that smashed Hazlewood and Co chasing low targets in Australia last year? Was it Saim Ayub or some khalai makhlooq from your own planet?

My comment was mainly aimed at your champion Farhan who so far has been an abject failure not only in SENA conditions but also against the likes of Australia and New Zealand at home

So let’s replace Farhan with Rizwan? That’s what you want now?

I dont think rizwan should be in the squad but usman is surely not the answer.
The way he bats i dont think he is gonna go into double digits even against namibia

@Rana i think we should have a thread for disscussing pakistans possible squad for t20 wc.
I beleive bowling wise we are ready but our 3-7 is still as rubbish as it gets

When Australia had Gilchrist , there was a gulf in class of Aus rivals like Jimmy Maher and Graham Manou.

Situation seems similar here in Pakistan Haris Usman Azam Haseebullah have too many weakness

My guy wakes up and wonders:

“today, how can I deliver that Wakhri, anokhi, standout chawwali”

We have many options but unfortunately they arent been given chances.
After being in the test squad for 5 years rohail hasnt played a single test.
Haseebullah gets one game per year .
Saad is killing it in domestics atm but unfortunately we have bradman in our team who nobody can replace

I would be happy to see Rizwan play as an opener instead of Farhan depending on the situation. I certainly would not have Farhan open against the likes of Australia, New Zealand, and England, especially when chasing a modest total ( I have already said this before. Having to repeat myself so that you can understand
:facepalm )
Lets drop saim also and have imam opening.
2 technical players playing against world class teams right ???

So,

We do what Rizwan was doing in Australia? If we need 90 in 7 overs, we open with Farhan….

And if we need 140 in 20 overs, we open with Babar and Rizwan…

And we carry on losing with our confused, stupid approach….

And then lose our captaincy and place forever in the side….

Wow; what an expert analysis!

Saim and farhan are our openers for t20 wc.Rizwan cant replace anyone pf them.Rizwan himself isnt trying to make a comeback in t20i team but these guys want him lmao.
Rizwan has himself accepted his t20i career is over and should focus on tests as in odis his future is bit uncertain

Pakistan opening seems to have settled for the time being, Saim Farhan , then Fakhar and H.Nawaz likely in the squad, the issues at the middle order

Haha, par for the course, childish attempt at humour... well done young Sir..... expanding the vocabulary i see, glad to have helped!

Sorry bhai- disagree.

Babar and rizzy not to open, down the order- this is despite the replacements not exactly (consistently) delivering- reflected in their stats but the openers have shown promise.

3 to 6 is where the flexibility should be.

Not this fanboy attitude (and that is either way- including Rizzy fanboys).

Babar, Rizzy, Fakhar and 1 more in some order, with rizzy no higher than no 5.

Maaz is another one that needs integration.

But but saar,

So, you are happy with someone who averages 18 and strikes at 120 and another who averages 23 and strikes at 111.

LOL, great logic yaar! Inept analysis routed in emotion and childish endeavour .....

But Agha's captaincy is steve waugh's level. Did you not see how successful we were in the Asia cup?

Representing Karachi-Blues, Usman scored 82 off 115 as his team posted 340 while batting first vs Sialkot in QEAT final.

It’s a shame we discarded Rizwan who’s captaincy was Greame Smith level! Only 5 T20i matches into it…

He also made a decent contribution in the second innings as he made 47 off 57 balls.

Your telling me that a guy who has a List A double ton, another 150+ score and also the fastest T20 hundred in Pakistan domestics doesn’t get picked ahead of Rizwan in T20s?

Come off it!

Always have a soft spot for this guy because there's one rule that trumps all for batters - scoring centuries.

And he did it repeatedly in PSL. If nothing else, it showed that once he gets set he can build innings.

He's in the team now and probably in the starting 11 for the World Cup so good to see him scoring big in domestic.

He's nowhere near Rizwan in keeping but if he can bring his batting form to the International game, could be our most important player in the World Cup alongside the openers.
