"If someone stayed with me, I could have scored a hundred" : Babar Azam

That's all a batsman should care about in Tests. Scoring hundred, daddy hundreds and boosting averages. The runs at the end go the team. As a natural stroke-maker he even does it at a good rate. I want Babar to care even more about his hundreds, we can reap the rewards.

It’s a common trend with him though, not just this comment.

Usually moans about not getting the hundred rather than the win for the team. Shows in his batting too, different format but same mindset.

Might hurt few people’s sentiments who have Babar-e-Azam poster on the wall or are waiting for the construction of his mazaar.

Babar knock was classy but there was nothing classy about the way he batted with the tail. Exposing Yasir like that against a barrage of bouncers was really selfish of him.

I wish there was a way for Yasir to refuse the singles and not come across as a coward because Babar should've definitely farmed the strike. It was appealing how he was taking singles on the first ball of each over!

He needs to understand that he has to bat at 4, take more responsibility and then only can he get more hundreds.

If you'd bat at 3 or 4, then you'd most likely have actual batsman for company too Bobby :babar

Yasir is not a number 11. He’s a number 9, who contributed nothing in two Tests with the ball.

As I wrote before the series, Shadab or Yasir was going to effectively be a specialist batsman. If you bat as high as 9, you’ve a responsibility to be competent with the bat.

There's a difference between having responsibility and having competency. After looking at how Yasir played the first couple of deliveries, it wasn't hard to figure out that he would be a walking wicket.

Number 9 or number 11, if the guy at the other end is a complete dud and you're well set, you need to farm the strike and add runs to the tally.

I feel for him but at the same time he needs to think of the team rather than his own personal gain. He is a simple man, probably ment well but did not come out as he intended.
