Follow up to my thread (that was asked 1 year ago - before the 5th day of the Pakellele Test)

IF we win tomorrow - would it be our greatest ever Test victory? Ahead of Pakelelle 2015, Bangalore 2005, Oval 2016, Cape Town 2007.

Of course it is based on the hypothetical that we will win so avoid comments like "we are not winning" or "doesn't matter since we have already lost" etc.

Pallekele 2015 felt like it at the time but looking back it should not be in contention for our greatest test victory considering the opposition. However if we win this it will certainly be the greatest Test victory in Pakistans history.

Is there any doubt in it?

Let list the odds that have been stacked against us:

1. Coming into the test on the back of a losing streak of 3 tests and woefully unprepared.

2. Match at GABA, a ground where Australia have not lost in two decades or so.

3. Lost the toss and blown away by the Aussie batsmen.

4. Demolished in our first inninings and conceded a lead of around 300 runs!

5. Set an unfathomable target of 490 runs to achieve victory.

6. Required to bat three, yes THREE, times during the night in dangerous conditions.

If Pakistan manages to win this, it'll not be our best victory in test history. It'll be the best victory in test history. Period.

Lol.

It will be the best and never heard of in the entire history of Test cricket.

But, it's not going to happen.

IF they win, it will be THE greatest test win for Pakistan.

It will also be one of the top 10 test wins in the history of cricket.

It certainly would but it won't happen.

I don't know why everybody is saying "it won't happen"

I hope the PCT doesn't have the same attitude like these folks. If people had attitude like this then a man would have never flown in the air, or stepped on the moon, or designed a contraption to compute millions of mathematical calculations in a minute or ran a 100 meters in less than 10 seconds, or chased down over 300 runs in the 5 day of a test.

I don't know people have such pessimistic attitude. Lets hope for the best, nothing is impossible.

There is no chance of win. But would be great to see aussie faces if they can some how get the target under 50 with even a wicket in hand

Not gonna happen but...if any Pakistani team could do it, it's this one.

This will be easily your best....

In fact it would be a huge global upset, Steve Smith may not laugh ever again if he loses this tomorrow

I hope they at least tease us a bit... and not bundle out within the first few overs.

Impossible is nothing.

There is still hope.

Shafiq has played positively so far and I hope he continues to play the same way tomorrow.

The last thing we need is for him to go into his shell - that would be the end if he does...

Very unlikely - but if they win, it will be the greatest victory ever in the history of test cricket.

Pakistan is not winning it but if somehow It happens then it is going to be the greatest test win in the history of cricket. Chasing almost 500 runs in foreign conditions has never been done before.

Well nobody has ever chased 490 to win and nobody ever beats Australia in Brisbane so this will be the best win in the history of the game.
