If you are winning, would you continue with the same team or give chance to better players?

I will go with better player(s).

Case in point is Asad Shafiq.

Pak has a good test record in last 5-6 years and some people said that its not a good idea to change a stable side but seeing Asad and some other batsmen like Haris over the years I have no doubt in my mind that Haris is a batter test player.

Nothing against Asad (I like him he is a nice guy) but unfortunately in my limited cricket knowledge I see better test players than him in Pak domestic. Someone like Haris should have debuted in 2012 after impressive domestic seasons and should have replaced Asad . Imo Haris is a 50+ avg player ~55 while Asad will avg ~45 at best. Or even investing on someone like Fawad would have been better who values his wicket.

My 4 preferred players in middle order after Misbah and Younis will be Babar, Haris, Usman and Fawad.

Not all players contribute to success, and those who don't should be chucked out for better alternatives. Shafiq has had a minimal role in our Test wins over the last 7 years. He has been far less influential than pretty much every batsman who has played a handful number of matches. Even Hafeez has had more defining moments.

Issue is that there is a lot of investment , with our two stalwarts leaving we can't really drop a batsman who is supposed to replace one of them in the coming years.

If we win I would make the following changes for the next game,

Hasan Ali for Amir
Saluhdain for Shafiq
Asghar for Yasir . Only reason I would make this change is no point of risking Yasir if his back is hurt in a dead rubber game.

Yeah. And I also think the same. If someone is not contributing enough even if you are winning, invest in better players. Will also reap more fruits in future.

Lots of players work hard tirelessly for years in domestics not to rot for a non-performing senior player.

Lets have some patience. I want him to replace Misbah at 5, if he fails there then he should be rightfully dropped.

And thats the question. Do you think that he is the best we have ?
Imo we have better test batsmen than him and should have built around those players.
And now, we can have an all rounder like Shadab in team so it makes his case even more difficult.

Next Match Shafiq should be played at 3.

With Misbah and YK impending retirement's, Shafiq will be allowed extra leverage as a experienced player.
Inzi wont be filling the team with newbies.
