If you made a mistake in Surah recitation in Fard Salaat

So I was praying Fard Salaat of Fajr and I made mistake(s) in reciting a Surah after Surah Al-fatiha. Usually I performed Sajidah Sahu in the last rakaat in such case but I forgot to do that and finish the Salaat. Now what should I do? Should I repeat the Salaat?

If you had completed 3 Ayaat of Surah, (or had completed text length in excess of Surah Al-Kausar) before the mistake, you don't need a Sajda e Sahu.

Sajda Sahu means in the last rakaat when you sit down, you recite Athait then do one salam (right one) then do 2 sajda and then recite Athait again and then proceed to finish like you normally do.

Brother reciting a surah is not obligatory in salah . It is sunnah.

Reciting surah Fatiha is obligatory.

Thanks guys. I did not know that in Salaat only Surah Alfathia is obligatory and all other surahs are sunnah. So if you make a mistake in reciting those other surahs in Salaat, you can just ignore those mistake? and not even need to perform Sajda Sahu?

I'm not a scholar obvioulsy but I'm pretty sure you just ask Allah to forgive you for making a mistake, since you're already done and can't fix it. I don't think you need to repeat the prayer, at least I don't do it.
