I do like some Indian players and pretty much the team as they are competitive, consistent and always show mental toughness on the field, but because of their Board, government, media and majority of fan base, I never will support the team. Again no hatred against Indians in general as I very much respect them.

Hoping England will roll over India! and then Bangla and then Sri Lanka. That would drop their NRR and make them miss the semi :)

Was a funny question from Atherton and I thought fairly good non controversial answer from Kohli.
 
It's like governments of different countries. There are no permanent enemies, only permanent issues.
 
Kohli stop trying to be smart and act all the time. You play for your country 1000s of Indians are in the stadium cheering you on.

You play to win not for faverours etc.
If PAK does not qualify its our own fault.

Basically this. Hate their monopoly board. But there's no point hoping they don't make the semi's, as they definitely will. Pakistan should be supporting India today.
 
Would be suitably ironic if India lose on one of the very few occasions Pakistan fans want them to win.

Yes,India have done well to keep it from being a massacre to be fair. Could have been 380 at one point, it looks like it will be under 350.
 
As long as they take responsibility for a defeat I don’t mind backing India
But i can’t see India being too upset if they lose today’s game

Nope, why support a rival team in favour of your own team.
Rather be true than be a traitor or 2-faced.

Every team should be earning their spot and not being handed freebies or hoping or praying for other team losses.

If you are not in top 4 you don't deserve it you did not do enough to earn it, you accept it and move on.

If you are in top 4 and top 2 and then win the world cup, its because you wanted it from the start and you made sure it happened from game 1 and not game 5 when it becomes do-or-die.

Before writing long essays go and see the points table. Both Pak and Eng have three losses each. If Eng beat NZ they will also have three losses. Pak beat both Eng and NZ. So as per experts like you Eng and NZ deserve to go through and Pak deserve to go home. Pathetic fans.

before you start criticising my posts. Have a look at the NRR and the losses of Pakistan compared to the losses of England and New Zealand...

New Zealand lost 2 in a row at 2nd position.

Pakistan lost their opening game against a West Indies side and that too for a shameful 105ao that loss is still affecting their rubbish run rate.

Let me also mention the way we got schooled by India.

England nor India nor New Zealand have got schooled by any other team like that.

Let me also remind you how we lost a winning game chasing comfortably against Australia.

Let me also remind you how we made a chase of 228 against Afghans seem like we were chasing 328. That was the game where Pakistan should play like the backed/cornered tigers they are.

Every team is beating South Africa because they are the depleted weaker sides these days so Pakistan were always going to beat that team.

New Zealand faced a fierce Australian Attack and once Aussies get going they become unstoppable.

I dont just write gibberish I think what I write before and I won't let anyone change my mind.
This is a public form where everyone is allowed to voice their opinions and their view points.

Look at the overall losses, performances, fight, team spirit, attempts, effort, fielding, catching, bowling, batting etc... then you tell me Pakistan deserves to go through more than England or for that fact New Zealand do...

Kohli was annoyed at the post-match presentation. He wanted to win this match for Pakistan.

Your analysis was a bunch of rubbish. Pakistan have beaten England, New Zealand and South Africa. They also had a very winnable match rained out. They deserve to go through as much as any other team. You however, should no longer support Pakistan if you have any iota of self-respect and dignity left.

Sorry for being harsh but I have no time for such garbage after the boys have done so well.

So why is Pakistan in a position where we need handouts or freebies?

Other teams had washed out games.
Other teams had no results.
Every team has played everyone on these pitches.

Why are the top 3 on 11 points 10 points in positive rr but we are on 9 in -nrr..

Why did Pakistan play like they have never held a bat before against West Indies - I mean isnt that the loss that is still haunting Pakistan.

We beat England but not convincingly, we still dropped catches, we still fielded poorly and we own by a mere 14 runs when the margin should and could have been more.
Everyone beat South Africa because they were the punching bag this year.
Don't take Sri Lanka lightly because they beat England and they could have beaten us because we were not in do or die then either...

Why did the chase against New Zealand go to the wire?
Why did the chase against Afghans go to the last 2 balls, a chase of 228.

Let me also guess you were one of the ones supporting India today and you call me a disgrace!

I speak sense because I and alot of others on this site see that there are far more deserving teams that have earnt the top 4 spot and Pakistan is not one of them...
 
Keep your so called expert opinions till the last group game is completed.

If it is in the destiny if team PAK we wil reach the semis.

In a way its OK India lost. We dont need any favours from them.

dont bother bro. Its fashionable for some Pakistanis to criticize their own team. For sure criticize and demand performance but the support should always be there regardless of the results. The very definition of fair-weather fans. They need to learn something from Newcastle United fans, like really !!

Pakistan will take good memories from this cup even if they crash out, its alright. We'll live to fight another day:wa
 
I hope this is a good lesson for Pakistan fans. 90% of Indians hate you because of your nationality yet you cheer their runs, celebrate their wickets because it MIGHT help you get into the semis. In the end they didn't even try to win the game once it became a little difficult. Lets not even get into what India is doing against Pakistan politically or against Kashmiris.

If Pak is out fine but I'd never support an Indian cricket team. Self pride and self respect is more important than any sport.

If you have a Pakistani background why not support Pakistan cricket team? Supporting players is a waste of time unless you have a crush on. We have the best fans and most entertaining team, you never know whats going to happen. :afridi

I feel your pain, bro. As an India fan I am disgusted too with how convincingly and how badly India got outplayed by ENG in every field of the match.

But it is not true that 90% Indians hate Pakistan. No way. Most of us adore Pakistani heroes like Imran, Miandad, Wasim, Waqar, Afridi

Please do not sow misgivings or hatred inadvertently through your words of pain, in this hour of grief
