Who should play against India on sunday ?

Should we play all 3 of them, and drop one batsman and move everyone one up ?

Or should we only play 2 of them ? But who would you drop for the big game ?

I personally would really want Shadab to play...

Have to play 2 of them. Said it before that there is only room for 2 of these three as they have a similar role, which is bowling all rounders.

I would pick Imad and Shadab, however if there isnt much for spinners id be tempted to pick Fahim over Imad, simply because I really dont rate his batting. Arthur seems a big fan of hmi though.

Shadab has to play.

Drop Junaid and play all 3.

Fahim + Hafeez + Shoaib + Haris (if he plays) can easily make up the 5th bowler quota.

Amir + Hasan + Imad + Shahdab should bowl the bulk of the overs.

Variety in attack and we bat all the way down to 11.

The issue with that is Hasan isn't a good enough new ball bowler and we saw in the warmup Fahim isn't one either. If Junaid is dropped we won't have a new ball partner for Amir.

Yeah, that's the problem. I see junaid playing, but I don't see Mickey dropping Imad..But Shadab has to play

Shadab won't make the cut unfortunately....It's a tough choice but that's how it is at the moment. If Micky really wants to think out of the box then we'd have to drop both Shehzad + Azhar, get Sarfraz to open with Hafeez and then play all three ARs.....

Highly unlikely though.....

Use Imad and Hafeez for the other end. They may not take wickets, but should keep things reasonably tight. Can't do worse than Junaid.

imad and fahim should bat.. Shadab is good but indian batsmen would play him easily.

Id drop shadab, 2 spinnerz would be too much against india

His leggies arent going to trouble india as well
Imad offers a lot more all round n we need fahims explosive batting

Should play 4 seamers against India

Ideally Imad should sit out, but Shadab will

This.
Imad will invariably give you couple of. Wickets in a 6 overs spell with new ball.

Doesn't matter how well India play spins, Both Imad and Shadab should play and can't ignore Fahim now after his exploits.

Our overall seam bowling is pretty much average, so no point filling the side with four seamers against a top-class Indian batting. We must play our trump card in form of Shadab Khan. Only class can compete against class, that should be the formula on any pitch.

I didn't had much hope in our bowling after Mohommad Asif's era, but when Shadab came to the scene, the revival of 90s style bowling is very much possible.

Exactly.

Play Junaid just for the sake of not giving Hasan the new ball.

We just cannot feed 3 spinners to India, 20 overs of continuous spin in middle overs is really bad strategy, we did that in WC, results were pretty bad for us. when we started playing four seamers in WC2015, our performance improved significantly. We have to play three frontline seamers (Amir, Hassan, Juniad/Wahab), Fahim would be playing on his batting mainly, but between Hafeez and Him we can have 10 overs.

Between Imad and Shadab, I would pick shades, because he is wicket taker, has excellent googlie, his balls actually turn both ways, he can fetch wickets...For third seamer, if possible I would rather play Abbas than Wahab/Junaid, but that may not be possible... Otherwise, if we are playing on a dry day, Wahab is better choice, on cloudy conditions Junaid is better choice...

On batting front, One of Azhar/Shezad has to make way for Harris/Fakhir, rest of the batting lineup is too late to change, management is not going to let go Hafeez or Sarfraz(well he is Captain)...Azhar, Hafeez and Sarfraz (assuming Shezad is out) are weak line in top 5...Only Babar and Malik are on merit. We have way to weak of the batting unit...

I have heard Imad's interviews where he says that he doesn't spin the ball usually, I'm guessing he can though. My question is then why doesn't he spin the ball if he knows that's what he needs to give depth to his bowling?
Anyone met him and has asked about this?
Anyone meeting him in the near future please do ask him

If I had to pick one of Shadab or Imad I'll take Shadab. Fahim should definitely start

A leg spinner against India on a flat pancake wicket would be an absolute disaster. Shadab should not play. I would hesitate to play Imad even but then Imad has some semblance of control over his bowling and can bowl line and length so I'd play him.

A Quality leg spinner will take pitch out of equation and be attacking with his variations.

All 3 should play, We don't have been average fast bowlers. What rubbish logic is this that you shouldn't play x, y or z.

Play your best.

Hafeez
Fakhar
Babar
Malik
Sarfraz
Imad
Shadab
Fahim
Hasan
Amir
Junaid

That would be the perfect XI, where all 3 would be able to play, adn the top order is stronger, but the chances of that are so low

If I had to choose 2 of the 3 I would go with Shadab and Fahim as Hafeez can pretty much do Imad's job with the ball, don't see that happening either.

Shadab will have to sit out. Can't play so many spinners in England on a flat track. He might be a better bowler than Imad but on a flat track Imad's batting will be more important. Faheem has to play after that Bangladesh warm up game inning.

honestly imad should sit out

I expect Shadab to go for a few but he will also have a better chance of getting some wickets

wont happen though

Can play all if MA thinks out of box and play the following lineup

Haris Babar Hafeez Sarfraz Malik Imad shadab fahim Hasan Amir junaid

Taking all three players ability and on how can they contribute as below

Imad can score 45-55 at 90-100 SR and in bowling opponents play him as a medium pacer and will go for 8RPO at least and if he bowls 6 then gives 48 runs. The runs he can score will give away in 6 overs.

Shadab will contribute in bowling as he will surely take a wicket or 2 and also go for at least 6 runs an over. His batting is wasted at lower down the order at no. 8

Fahim can blast a few sixers at the end did against just bd only. Bowling will nearly have no contribution from him.

In all I see only shadab can make the cut. Can try wahab as trump card to hurry the Indian batsmen with pace and bounce as they are annoyed and don't like facing fast bowlers in alien conditions where they will milk the spinners. But he is too wayward bowling pace and bounce.

MA won't drop Imad so I think fahim will not get a game.

I wouldn't drop a pacer to accommodate a spinner because of the Indian teams expertise in playing spin however Shadab is a must because of his mystery factor. I don't want to drop Imad because of his record in England but I'm also reluctant to drop Fahim because of his match winning performance vs Bangladesh.

However, I guess playing Shadab and Imad should be the way to go considering debuting in an India vs Pakistan match isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world.

I am pretty sure Imad and Fahim would play and Shadab would sit out against India. Shadab will come back into the equation for the match against South Africa, though.

All three should play and Junaid should sit out unless conditions are super pacers friendly like Eng-SA 3rd odi.

As Fahim demonstrated against Aus he isn't a third seamer.

Would like to see Shadab in for Imad, but that won't happen.

Would his hitting make up for being destroyed with the ball?

Yar I dont see Junaid and Wahab doing anything special with the ball unless its super pacers friendly where Junaid can be handy with the new ball. Saw Junaid in Pakistan cup where he looked very ordinary on flat pitches.

May be open the bowling with Hafeez (against Dhawan)/Imad or Hassan and Fahim, Hafeez, Malik share 10-15 overs.

I don't see both doing anything either, but I do see Junaid being more economical then Fahim.

No reason to play so many specialist bowlers.

Amir, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim will be my bowlers.

Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, and Hafeez the part timers.

So here is the XI:

1) Azhar Ali
2) Ahmed Shehzad (I rather have Fakhar personally)
3) Babar Azam
4) Haris Sohail
5) Mohammad Hafeez
6) Shoaib Malik
7) Sarfraz Ahmed
8) Imad Wasim
9) Faheem Ashraf
10) Hasan Ali
11) Mohammad Amir

You bat 9 deep. Have 7 bowlers. - See more at: http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...ust-have-ability-to-bat!#sthash.KZHe18O9.dpuf

Play this XI

Sarfaraz Ahmed
Fakhar Zaman
Babar Azam
Mohammed Hafeez
Shoaib Malik
Shadab Khan
Fahim Ashraf
Mohammed Aamer
Hassan Ali
Junaid Khan
Wahab Riaz

Play Fahim in a lineup of this sort:

1) Hafeez
2) Fakhar
3) Babar
4) Haris
5) Malik
6) Sarfaraz
7) Fahim Ashraf
8) Riaz/Imad (Depending on the pitch)
9) Amir
10) Junaid
11) Hassan

Kick out Imad, simple as that, don't need players who come at no,7 and play their way in

Hafeez
Fakhar
Babar
Malik
Sarfraz
Imad
Shadab
Fahim
Hasan
Amir
Junaid

Exactly this. Play all 3.

From that line-up, swap Sarfraz & Malik though.

Haris has not bowled since his injury.
