I will be alarmed if the Pakistani team management will not pull these two individuals for bottling it under pressure when both had the opportunity to play life changing knocks under pressure. It is these moments which tell you whether an individual actually has it to play under pressure when it really matters the most. The shots these two individuals played after getting beaten by big turning deliveries on a Day 5 pitch was shockingly amateurish.

When you get selected into team based on nepotism players don't really care about accountability of failures with performances.

Both players know if they get dropped they are well connected enough to get recalls.

I said during 1st test that imam went for the hero shot to try and play get to a 100 as at the point in game imam was looking at match thinking we are going to lose here I might as well get myself a 100. Imam on paper looks like he gets runs in 2nd inns of games, but it's always clear he gets runs then bottles it when he needs to stick around and finish job off. I said at end of day 4 of this 2nd test yesterday that imam would get out to a brain fade and as expected he did.

As far Shan goes, he knows he can just do what he wants, play like a tail ender and he will keep getting picked. No other player with such a garbage record would keep getting selected.

The fact that dinosaurs like haroon rashid are recommending him as skipper clearly shows that "senior PCB" officials are just keep their old buddy Shan senior happy by selecting his son.

You won't find nepotism / sirfishi selections more prevalent then in Pakistan team, if these players were world class maybe they would be an argument for selection. In case of both they are mediocre players.

Especially since Imam was lucky when that exact delivery went over the stumps a few balls earlier. Either they block spin or try to hit. Both don’t seem to have real red ball skills against it.

Shan doesnt deserve his place anyway , if he plays another test then it will be because of his connections.

Imam has been doing it against spin , spinner troubles him and he does not trust his defence at all and goes for big shot.

I think people get too critical of Imam. He is a fine opener and one of the most consistent in the world. Shan on the other hand simply hasn’t got the caliber of an international cricketer

Such things do happen..just remember both showed positive intent and this only will make Pakistan a better team in future..gone are the days of mishbah tuk tuk..& Remembered shaan is the best opener for Pakistan on overseas tours..None of the openers except shaan stand a chance in SENA conditions..just play him as opener in test cricket

Both played international cricket for over 15 years and were mediocre for vast majority of it, winning a few games over more than a decade and a half is pathetic low standards of the team for last 20 years.

What about abdullah shafique? He has made a promise to himself to never score runs on any track other than the highway of pindi. And what about babar Azam? He being the captain should be leading from the front but he failed even on a flat 5 day track. Imam atleast scored runs in the first innings.
