India [224/8] defeat Afghanistan [213] by 11 runs in the 28th match of World Cup 2019

I hope that marginal review that we lost does not come to bite us later inthe match....and whilst at it....the review system needs a rethink.....the whole umpire's call bit...if it gonna hit the stumps...i feel it donot matter where it pitches....its out....i'd say this even if we benefitted from this ...:)

That is where top 5 teams and rest are different, top teams handle the pressure well

Thats nothing to do with the review system. Its a basic LBW rule. The ball cannot pitch outside the leg stump.

The review system is fine. Sometimes there are is a small difference between not out and out.

They get one wicket and apparently they're handling pressure better? How does that work?

Nope, It was more directed towards Afghanistan losing composure than India maintaining theirs. Top 5 teams also struggle under pressure but handle it better more often than not.

The hell? The rule about ball pitching in line is a key component of the LBW rule and not the decision review system. This is primarily done to ensure bowlers don't ball a negative line

It's harder to hit such balls across the line. As a bowler, I would put all my fielders on the leg side to dry up the runs and wait for a ball to hit the pads. The rule is to discourage negative bowling.

Afghans are giving India a big scare, India PP brothers you have this match in the bag. If India loses I will retire from PP :moyo

...and what if Afghanistan ends up winning this game? Are you going to come back and say India was not able to handle the pressure?

Lol exactly, but from my pov im thinking why does rhe Brit who has no family in Asia require this

Newt Scamander needs all the money he can get, he is never going to get an IPL contract.

Hmmm....goood point...i stand corrected...i did;'nt thnk of negative leg side line and fielders on leg side....awesome bro..

You keep retiring and un-retiring.... I see where you get your inspiration from :afridi

This K.L. Rahul is the biggest Railu Katta in the team. Losing Dhawan is the worst thing that could have happened to us. Now that no good model/cricketer will be haunting us for the rest of the tournament as an opener.

Well predicted.

They were just a little bit too defensive against the Kul-Cha in the previous overs, so when Pandya was brought back, inevitably their eyes lit up.

If you're going to hit him at least pick your deliveries with realistic boundary options, rather than attempting low % shots. That's the difference between minnows and non-minnows. When the former targets a bowler, they can do so more effectively without having the need to play very high risk shots.

I am not at all saying this cant happen. Being in the top 5 ranking means being more consistent than other sides on most occasions and that includes handling pressure as well. However, this doesnt mean they cant falter under pressure.

as indian-lets give back positively to our pak hosts...Irrespetive of what happens in this match...i think the last few days-performance of BD , SL and AFG shown the way....pak should take inspiration and hammer SAF, NZ et all....especially SAF is ripe for the picking....and i look fwd to see that new gun -mo hasnain....always xciting to see new quicks...cheers...

RRR inching upwards. It's not going to be a walk in the park for the Afghans but this is their best chance to secure a win this WC

As soon as RRR goes past 6-7 Afg will crumble. They are minnows after all.

Afghanistan need to score runs as well. They'll find themselves in trouble if Req. Run rate reached 8 in the last 10 overs.

One of the best shots I have seen any Afghan batsman play. Kudos to Rehmat Shah

Chahal and Kuldeep should bowl in tandem. They usually do well when bowling together.

Rahmat should have put that away, it was short and pitched leg side.

India missing Ashwin here. He has too many tricks up his sleeve to let Afghanistan run away on this pitch.

At first I thought the inclusion of these two test batsmen was a joke when I saw them bat against England, I guess it all makes sense now.

Bro...he's good in tests....in indian conditions....he's useless in odi's....(good in t20's though)....he's useless as a fielder and whlst batting has only one shot...the inside out hike which is a massive tukka shot....
we've been there and amongst other things its cost us the champions tournament 2017..
