Some farcical moments of the tournament:

- Bangladesh not playing.
- Scotland replacing Bangladesh instead of Jersey (Jersey finished ahead of Scotland in the qualifiers).
- Indian vendor putting used coke back in the bottle.
- India receiving venue perks and scheduling perks.
- Archer giving away 61 runs in 4 overs against India. England ended up losing by 7 runs and missing out on the final.
- Most boring final in World T20's history.

True. Useless hopeless team after so many years. Hope they pull out of next WC as well. Waste of space.
Teams like USA Nepal Afg Neth etc have showed what they can achieve with just a bit more support 👍

I still rate that above everything for the rest of my life lol> but this is definitely second best compared to that last one . WI didn't give great vibes. Even Australian one was very dull. SA generally host tournaments very well.

Took out Hetmeyer and Chase in WI game, Took Brook and Rachin on first balls in SF and final. All.massive wickets. Won the game against Eng with 14 runs in 2 overs when RRR was 15. Stat padding is a feature in batting. Can't do that in bowling in T20s.

One cant score 250 in a world cup without actually scoring them in bilaterals. Its not a magic bullet. Its a process that you perfect over time. Only a few teams can score 250 in T20Is.

you are talking to a fan of team that struggles to cross 250 in ODIs lol Imagine someone telling "we should create a football stadium to reduce the goals" hahha that is how these stupids are. If they can't do they will want everyone to lower their level to their level

This and if you arent strong in bilaterals outside your khets, you wont ever be able to climb the oh so difficult task of scoring 2 off 3 balls in a WC :fizz

Three consecutive ICC tournament wins. That's pretty impressive and nothing to scoff at. When it rains, it pours and India definitely turned their trophy drought into a steady stream of silverware. They have lost just two matches in the last four ICC tournaments. Maybe people shouldn't bash the hapless Pakistan team for losing to India so much. It's not like any of the other teams are beating them either.

2016 and 2022 had amazing Finals so did 2007. Also, last edition had really good Final.

One of the worst finals to any sport ever, I am very close to calling ICC customer support to complain so they can investigate this game and if an Indian picks up I will hang up.

India is very lucky the Pakistan and NZ game washed out

It's easy to blame everything on the pitches, but intent also counts for a lot. Pitches are pretty flat in South Africa, England, and New Zealand for T20 too. That's the general trend in white-ball cricket these days. People want to see more sixes. That’s literally the whole appeal of T20 cricket to the average person: you get the most exciting elements of the game, packaged at a very fast pace.

What people don’t understand is that on a good batting wicket, if you get off to a flying start, you’re basically calling the shots until you decide not too or there is some smart piece of bowling/tactics by opposition. Otherwise, the bowling side is constantly under pressure and totals anywhere between 200–280 are possible if you bat deep.

Most teams simply don’t have enough players who try to go from ball one, the way India do. Even with loser SKY in the middle, they smash 250+ with ease. South Africa is one team capable of doing the same. England, Australia, New Zealand, and West Indies have certain players who can play that way, but in this new era of stick-cricket T20, India is the team best equipped to succeed. And that's just a natural by-product of the IPL conditioning. On top of that they not only have these kinds of batters, but also a cheat code in the bowling department - Bumrah.

On a good batting wicket, if a team bats well they can probably smash all Indian bowlers out of the attack - except for Bumrah.

As long as India stick to this formula, they are likely to remain a giant in T20 cricket. Bumrah retiring will be a big blow, but when it comes to batting talent India will keep churning out players who can play at this tempo because of IPL.

India has a lot of room for improvement. India has some players like Paragh who can be as good as specialist off spinner and he is a specialist batsman. India's batting depth will be insane. Full of six hitters right till the end

Just throwing SKY out and getting Iyer in will make a huge difference. Not to mention the added benefit of a captain who isn’t a desperate try-hard constantly trying to act cool

They already declined massively in Test. They became #4 in Test rankings recently.

Even in ODI, they are declining. They recently lost a home ODI series to NZ B team.

It is only in T20 where they are dominating. :inti

Well mighty BD didnt feature in this WC, with their explosive (sic) batsmen and awe inspiring bowlers, they would have choked India from scoring 250 off 120 balls and easily cantered to a win when needing 2 off 3 balls.
 
Remind us when Bangali cats won something or last time the other half of brotherly nation Pakistan won the WC..... 92 was it? So if India are in decline, BD and PCT are beyond major surgery? (Naqvi Emoticon)

Almost all south African batters play in IPL and must have played in Kolkata every year.. thats not excuse..its easier to adjust in kolkata thats batting pitch..nz completely outplayed them

Archer is useless on these pitches.. even in Last IPL he was very expensive . bowling fast and short is not the way on these pitches.. I thing england missed a trick by not picking rehan ahmad instead of dawson..we can only say this in hindsight but dawson bowled just one over and got hammerred

Archer is an experienced bowler. A premium English fast bowler.

A figure of 4-0-61-1 in a must-win game is poor even if pitch is flat.

Had Archer been a bit more economical, England could've won. :inti

That premier fast bowler thing is a stretch for him in these conditions.. i have seen him get smacked for 60-70 runs even in IPL last year. He needs to come up with better plan or he will be regularly taken down in flat condition

India is obviously better team than south africa my point is south africa would have challenged them better.. defeat of 70-80 runs cant merely be described on selection issue.. south africa had better bowling plans compared to england and new zealand.

SA also got belt treatment in bilteral against India. India was struggling even wrose against USA in the first round. That was the period when SA caught them. India brought their A game only in the must win game against WI after Sanju Samson. Samson smashed 2 T20 centuries in SA. So there is no reason why he could not have done again. SA bowling is more one-dimensional than NZ bowling. But i give it SA middle order is very ver powerful. But under pressure how will they do? I am not sure they would have survived.

I can agree on this point- a big reason both England & NZ chose to chase was because they both knew they had weak bowling attacks to defend any total against Indian batting. Only SA had the bowling attack to challenge India.

But then again, SA bowling inexplicably lost their way against NZ openers, how can anybody make sense of that?
