What's new

India (261/5) beat England (259) by five wickets in the 3rd ODI to win the series 2-1

Leaving 25 balls unused due to slogging is absolutely criminal from England. Pathetic, arrogant planning and I’m raging about it. Hopefully England lose badly and get a lesson.

So, you should. When both wily and Overton were bossing Indian bowlers and could have easily reached 275 280 had they lasted. I guess however that they believe they have a good score under the belt.

wouldn't be an easy chase on a pitch offering lot of pace and bounce and given Indian batting form

Once again giving away 30 runs more than necessary with sub par bowling efforts. Our ODI bowling is overrated. :inti

They are not bowling to Bangladesh. They are bowling to some of the most dangerously inform unit. Buttler, Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Moeen, LIvingstone. Credit to India to restrict them in all the matches. This line up doesn't even have Bumrah. So i won't take it away from them. Not many teams have the ability to boss a batting line up like this entire series.

Nice bit of sarcasm mate, bowling out England strong batting 3 out of 3 is not a joke. Indian bowling has been delivering wonderfully its the batting which looks jittery

I said it in terms last game as well that India could not get England out for 220 odd. But last match, even fielding/catching was really bad . Shami, Prasidh and Chahal were poor today and it could easily cost us.
Only reason we have restricted England to even 259 s because Pandya put in a superlative performance. Siraj and Jadeja were average.

Much like how England batting works, our bowling has to work. Someone else has step up when few guys fail. When Pandy a is a no show someone has to step up. Shami or Siraj or Chahal. Prasidh is probably the weaker link due to his inexperience.

So, BVB ain't gonna show up to give credit to Pandya now as he does every single time to criticize him lol? :inti

Proves that you made a false attempt by trying to praise Pant when he gave you humble pie lol. :))

Pant, Pandya fans and their humble pies. :facepalm

Some people even doubt the praise given to their favorites. What a way to hide your insecurities just because you can't criticise your favorites. :inti

This is a lucky ground for Rohit. He scored that brilliant 140 here in 2019 world cup against Pakistan.

Hope he scores a big one today.

This isn't our first choice attack. And we have got 30 wickets in 3 games against World Champions in their own den. So give them some credit.

Prasidh and Siraj will only learn from these experiences. What I liked about Rohit is, he didn't take them off the attack, rather let them learn from their mistakes in this game itself.

Sometimes as skipper you have to keep bigger picture in mind. Which is clearly 2023 WC. By then hopefully these 2 have enough experience to serve as proper backups to Bumrah, Shami.

To me it seems like unless Dhawan does something ridiculous in WI series. That might well be his farewell series.

I like how Swann enjoys his sarcasm flying over every Indian experts head. They just can't grasp his sarcasm and keep taking him literally.

That was a very good batting strip. This seems like it has a fair bit for the bowlers.

Just what India needs, their top 3 all losing form at the same time with WC just 10 months away.

Its an aging top 3. It might be an unpopular opinion but i think rohit too is declining now
We should have disbanded this top -3 immediately after last ODI WC. No wonder, we are paying the price for that.

India's top 3 is ageing. However, this being a decider, I back the great man to show up today and serve humble pies to his haters :inti

Topley has turned Indian batting into "Tiply Topley" commiseration to harsha bhogle who was going ga ga over kohli backfoot play. its the left arm angle silly and topley has bowled a beautiful line here

You won't find too many selfish cricketers than Kohli and Dhoni. Both have overstayed their welcome by quite a few years.

5 years in case of Dhoni and 3 years (and counting) for Kohli.

Surya's defense is not as good. He is better suited to T20s than ODIs. Shreyas Iyer is generally better in these situations.

Though I wonder why don't these prima donnas ever get injured before an IPL game, even the inconsequential games!

This was a series decider. If a part timer like Pandya can take 4 wickets here imagine what would have Bumrah done here today. :facepalm :inti

It's high time Dhawan must be dropped. Pant should open, Rahul or Iyer should bat at 4 and SKY at 5. :inti

Is Stokesy carrying a niggle or something, Why would you bowl Ali with a hard new ball ??

Shami also has continuously disappointed and lacked consistency or match winning performances like Bumrah. Can hardly recall him taking 5-fers. India in LOIs presently rely on Bumrah and Pandya. In Bumrah's absence, Pandya delivered :inti

Buttler is such a poor keeper. ABDV was a better keeper than him even though he was a part timer. :ab

Say it again please. :91: :inti

Thats more like it. The pitch is tailer made for pacers keep banging in.

SKY defence and play outside off will always be an issue with that stance

In absence of Bumrah, India relies completely on Pandya. One man has to do so much, reminds me of Sachin Tendulkar. :inti

Butler is such a garbage Keeper I see him missing stumpings over time and time especially off of moeen Ali’s bowling surya gone but pant can really hurt you

India genuinely suck against left arm seam

It’s embarrassing!

Surya also cant power the ball down the ground. Just looks to manufacture strokes behind square on either side.

He doesn't have to power the ball down the ground. If you watched highlights of that hundred he scored, he was able to time it over the long on and place it down the ground. He has got a great range of shots and hence he is a great option in T20s. In ODIs though, you need to have good defense as well on these wickets.

I would say Iyer is better in ODIs, Surya is better in T20s. But team management often confuse formats and play based on recent performance irrespective of considering the right format.

Top 3 of India who used to be India's strength few years ago have become India's weakness now and have really exposed the Indian middle order batting. :inti

Dont feel bad about it. On current form jadeja is best in my opinion.

I am honest. I posted the last two years test stats also proving the same :yk

Jadeja is very good in Tests but LOIs me usne sirf ghanta hi bajaya hai in case you don't know.

Completely agree here. There are some guys who should be in tests only but TM is playing them in LOIs. :inti

I have no idea why this team plays 2 "allrounders" in the ODI team. Terrible balance. Only 1 all-rounder who comes in at 7 please
