That partnership right at the end when the game was in perfunctory mode might do more harm for Pakistan. Shadab and Imad might be deemed necessary when they are actually average.
Totally deserved by India. In all honesty it is an injustice to India as the margin of victory should have been and appears much greater. We should not be on the same field as India at the moment. Thanks for teaching us how it's done.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Bumrah's bowling action as some people were insinuating at the other thread. He has hyperextension in his elbow which is why it looks awkward and which is also where he gets much of his pace from.
Let's stop finding faults with others after losing to them, when we ourselves have such glaring issues that we have been sweeping under the rug even though they were obvious from the Asia Cup 2018 itself.

How we can get sudden 'injuries' for the likes of Malik and Hassan Ali so they are flown home?

Match was over at the toss as we are horrible chasers. Can’t chase to save a damn life. And first 5 overs were nail in the coffin, the lads were not interested.

Fakhar and Babar were playing fine with DLS on mind. Last day SL had a wicket less start to their chase of 330 and at the point of 20 over Mark, the DLS par score was 89.

You raise an interesting point actually. I am an India team fan and I was perplexed that Fakhar and Babar did not seem to accelerate adequately, even after they had gotten well set.
I kept a close watch on the Required Run Rate and remember telling myself that I would rather have these two batsmen keep on playing at the same run rate for about 5 more overs or so, so that the Required Run Rate keeps creeping up. And then hope for one of them to get out, resulting in enormous pressure on the remaining batsmen.

Yet in the end, the day didn’t really belong to Kohli – not for the first time at this ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, it was the Rohit Sharma show.
Perhaps there is a part of Sharma – the same ruthless, single-minded part driving him to be a success at the very pinnacle of cricket – that resents the adulation and fervour Kohli inspires in Indian supporters, believing it should be him engendering that zeal.
Maybe in any other team, or at any other time, it would be. But if it does bother him, he certainly doesn’t let it affect his performances, which are becoming reliably spectacular.
Against Pakistan, where he led from the front with a mesmerising century, there were chants of ‘Rohit, Rohit, Rohit’ of course, but they seem less well-practised, a little more out-of-sync than the choruses glorifying the captain, or even ex-skipper MS Dhoni, which are second-nature.
And Kohli has undoubtedly earned that passion by cementing himself as the world’s premier batsman across all three formats – the only man in history to average more than 50 in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Even during the Sharma show, as the opener crushed 140 runs off 113 balls against India’s greatest rivals, Kohli added to his legend.
The skipper’s supporting knock of 77 saw him pass 11,000 ODI runs in a ludicrous 54 fewer innings than the second-quickest man to that milestone, Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli has every shot in the book and invariably plays them more classically and artistically than the book could ever wish to teach.
Watching him bat is to revel in a perfectly-structured piece of art, witness a machine so finely-tuned that seemingly nothing can go wrong, yet seeing Sharma at the crease may be the more visceral, exhilarating experience.
The way he effortlessly climbs on to his toes, leans into a short, wide ball from Hasan Ali and cuts it for six.
The way he seemingly defies the laws of time to create an extra half-second to step back, swivel and pull Hasan for another maximum.
The way he reads the ball out of the hand, waits for the turn and languidly drives Shadab Khan to the point boundary.
This was the latest in a series of beautifully-constructed innings by the 32-year-old, who now joins Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Kohli (twice) as the only men to score 50+ in five consecutive ODI innings for India.

There was only one Old Trafford on Manchester’s lips, and it wasn’t the place made famous by Ryan Giggs, George Best and David Beckham, before the most eagerly-awaited game of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup so far.
Tickets for the meeting between India and Pakistan were applied for in the region of 800,000 – enough people to fill the football stadium more than ten times over.
Supporters of both sides came from far and wide to see the latest instalment of one of sport’s biggest rivalries with India seeking to add to their 6-0 lead in World Cup head-to-heads.
But however deep the passion and pride, fans were able to mix outside the ground and in the stands, where the onus was on a memorable day out as well as the two points for victory.
India supporter Amit Ray had flown from New Jersey in the United States on Saturday, and was due to return on Monday after experiencing his fourth World Cup.
“To some people, winning this game is bigger than winning the tournament,” he said. “But I think most of us have moved on from that nowadays. While it means the world to win, India’s long winning streak against Pakistan at World Cups means we can see the bigger prize.”
Najeeb Ahmed, a Pakistan fan, undertook a 12-hour journey with family and friends from Frankfurt in Germany and was facing a long night travelling back to mainland Europe before returning to work on Monday.
He said: “It is a battle, but a friendly battle, like rivalry between siblings. Whoever we support, we love each other so there is a common bond, and that common bond is cricket. Having said that, I’d love to win.”
Gaurav Pandey, from Kolkata, chose a different comparison. “I think of it as similar to a big football derby, say Liverpool and Everton or City and United in Manchester,” he explained. “We have a long history of rivalry and it means a lot to win, but as supporters we don’t hate each other. It isn’t war, it’s a game of cricket.”
Pandey was certainly taking the advice of Virat Kohli in the build-up and soaking in the special atmosphere. So were those whose shorter journeys could be measured in miles rather than countries and continents.
Usman Ditta, from Manchester, said: “I’d love Pakistan to win, but you have to appreciate good cricket and if Kohli had scored a hundred… well, that would have been great to watch.
“I have a lot of Indian friends. We have banter about the game and we will do depending on the result, but it is just that – not nasty or offensive. It never gets personal.
“One reason for the game being so important is that India and Pakistan don’t play each other very often. It’s a shame they don’t, say, play a five-match series in England every year. Demand would be huge.”
Manchester proved an ideal location. It is well-known for its cosmopolitan culture and the value of its global population.
Among exhibits at the People’s History Museum just off busy Deansgate are passports of Pakistani immigrants to the city in the 1960s. Nearby, at the Royal Exchange Theatre, the current production is a revival of Hobson’s Choice, by Harold Brighouse, set among the Indian rag trade in Manchester during the time of Margaret Thatcher.
It is cricket boosting the local economy now. Hotels were long full and breakfast at one, near trendy Salford Quays, brought forward breakfast by an hour to 6.30am because guests wanted to leave early for the 10.30 start.
Two hours before play, the roads and pavements were already bustling. A group of Pakistan fans, painted and clothed in green and white, hired a spectacular double-decker bus to get to the ground. When it was forced to halt on Warwick Road, India supporters in blue replica shirts leapt in front for selfies.
Flags, horns, colour, noise. Scenes recalled the memorable final morning of the Ashes Test at the same venue in 2005 as thousands of people milled outside the gates, excited, expectant, anticipating a famous game ahead.
Nobody there will forget that day. They won’t this time either.

Over the years I have passionately immensely supported Pakistan when they win. When they lose.
I used to sacrifice my time and my sleep fight with my family who used to tease me all the time in me watching them lose.
The losses against India used to hurt upset and get me really angry.
I still continued to support the team but criticise them when it was needed.
This is the first time and the first major tournament that I have no hopes of. 0% chance of Pakistan getting into the semi's let alone win the World Cup.
Today I gabe 0% chance to Pakistan beating India and also ending the losing streak plus keeping their world cup hopes alive.
The CT2017 win did more damage to Pakistan Cricket than it did good and this damage showed in the series against Australia then England.
And now the World Cup!!
The team lacks mental strength
The team lacks rhythm
The team lacks aggression
The team lacks fearless attitude
The team lacks energy, flair, style.
The team lacks basics of cricket knowledge.
Pakistan has regressed when other teams have progressed.
A whole revamp in the PCB is needed and this embarassing shambolic shameful World Cup by Pakistan.

This World Cup has got Eng Vs Ind final all over it with England being the ones to stop this Indian team!!

Looking at whole out tailenders have batted, you need to question the ability of our main batsmen.
Rubbish and utter rubbish! Get these tired oldies out of the team! Just get in young players, then there is at least some potential.
The management has been rubbish as well. Playing 2 spinners against India was a stupid decision, needed an extra pacer today.
Antways there is nor only one problem in Pak cricket. Plenty of them.

I feel you my friend. My mamou called and stated he felt so unwell that he went to sleep. These are the feelings attached to Pak cricket. These lads were just not interested. They had given up before game started, body language was so abysmal. Captain felt like crying after 5 overs.
nads_rocks, your comment is painful to read only because it is so heartfelt and genuine. Unfortunately as a team India fan, I am at a loss as to what to write to assuage your hurt feelings. All I can say is that give it time and maybe Pakistan cricket will regain its glory days.
I personally do not mind Pakistan team losing to India or to any other team. What hurts is seeing Pakistan team NOT put up a fight at all (especially when they are up against India, its almost as if some sort of a collective inferiority complex has gotten into the minds of Pakistan cricket team members when they face India).
Anyway today may not be the time for an India team fan to point to deficiencies within Pakistan cricket as it my be misunderstood by Pakistan fans as we Indian fans mocking Pakistan cricket fans when the Pakistan team is down.
But I sure will say this much...I have witnessed India Pakistan matches in the 1970s and 1980. Regardless of the result of the match the fact is that real MEN represented Pakistan then. I am talking of Zaheer Abbas, Asif Iqbal, Imran Khan, Sikander *****, Javed Miandad, Mudassar Nazar, Wasim Raja, Wasim Bari etc. They walked, talked, played and behaved like MEN who took tremendous pride in themselves, their game and in the opportunity and privilege to represent their nation.
Just compare the body language of these former players to that of Babar Azam, Fakar, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz, etc etc in the current team. Those former players were lions. The current lot have the body language of sheep.
There was a test match in 1981 in India in which Imran rattled the Indian batting line up with his vicious late inswingers that clean bowled the top batting line up (most memorable was the 'well left' clean bowled of Viswanath). I remember how Imran stood proudly in the Indian ground after each wicket, his hands on his hips, glaring into the pavilion, as if challenging the next Indian batsman to gather the courage to walk to the ground and get bowled by Imran. Imran stamped his authority on the Indian Batting line up both with his bowling and his mannerism.
The fact that I remember that incident 38 years later should tell you how impressive Imran's body language was that day. I also remember reading in the newspapers the next day that Gavaskar and Viswanath had bought a cake and went to Imran's room that evening as a token of appreciation for the amazing bowling display put up by Imran earlier that day. That was the kind of respect and awe that those MEN in green commanded from their adversaries almost 40 years ago.
When Imran, Miandad, Sikander *****, Zaheer Abbas, Wasim Bari, Mudassar Nazar and others from those days, watch the current crop of Pakistan players and their submissive body language, I wonder what must go on in their minds.

Everything you have said is spot on. I am not upset nor hurt I will support Pak but I dont with the same passion anymore.
Everytime Pakistan hit the ball in the air I fear its out.
Everytime they run i feat its run out.
See we have lost belief in this team because they have lost belief in themselves.
There is only 1 maybe 2 players who deserve to represent this nation, the rest are garbage bits and pieces and do not deserve to wear these colours.
I don't mind this team losing to India time and time again but I want them to lose fighting.
Jinnah fought to give Pakistan its own name its own identity, I see no fight in this team to go out there and fight to win.
No team is scared to face pakistan now.
No team fears out bowlers anymore.
Every team knows they can trample over this team for easy progress or points.
Yes I did not give them even 1% chance to win today because honestly they have done nothing commendable or special this world cup.
They got bowled out for 105 in their opening game against West Indies.
They just about beat England by 14 runs.
They lost a winning game against Australia because again they imploded.
Today, what the hell was Fakhar doing where is his concentration his focus. Sharma was on 32 and because of his lack of concentration, Sharma went on to make a match winning 140 that batted Pakistan out the game.
Safraz winning the toss opting to bowl because of rain moisture reduced target reduced overs.
Ok fine,so when we were batting, wouldn't the mindset have been to stay ahead of the DLS and not go at 3rpo chasing a mammoth 337?
Fakhar can do no wrong but he has failed yet he escapes criticism. He is meant to take the attack to the bowlers. Attack them puts pressure on opposition but if you let opposition attack you, you are finished and is just about time till you give your wicket away.
Today I saw 11 amateur cricketers face 11 men, a formidable unit.
Where is that fear by Pakistan?
Where is that fighting spirit by them.
Where is that aggression that oppositions feared, that indians feared.
Its now just kittens vs cheetahs now.
And it hurts to see a team you have supported you have followed from the very beginning of growing up to see them hitting rock bottom.
It hurts still but the pain of these losses now dont really make a difference or affect us in any way because we have gotten used to it.

Going into the game, the biggest question mark about this India team was how they would cope without Shikhar Dhawan.
The fact the top three all got runs, that Sharma and Rahul put on more than a hundred for the first wicket and that Virat Kohli got more runs, is huge for India going forward in the tournament.
Every team that comes up against India will know that the top three are going to be a real danger and give them the perfect platform, especially with Rohit’s tendency to score big hundreds.
That is now three straight wins against three good teams and puts India in a great position to reach the semi-finals.
Prior to this, the one bowler who had been a little bit of a concern was Kuldeep Yadav, who didn’t seem to have found his form.
However he was brilliant in this game, particularly the dismissal of Babar Azam which was a sensational delivery.
That leaves India with Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep all bowling well, what more can they ask for?
It is a little like England, at the moment everything seems to be going right and the fans should be very happy.

The one slight worry was Bhuvneshwar’s injury but they have six days before the next game against Afghanistan so that will give him the chance to get back fit again.
In the moment it was obviously a blow for India, but in some ways it worked out well for them because it meant we got more of a look at Vijay Shankar.
He did well in his first game of the tournament and took his opportunity, first with the bat and then later on with the ball.
Shankar’s performance increases India’s options, and as and when Dhawan returns, it will make for an interesting selection dilemma.

Sharma’s wife Ritika gave birth to the couple’s first child, Samaira, back in December and the opener claims that life-changing moment off the field has provided him with the serenity needed to excel out in the middle.
Pakistan certainly won’t argue that the 32-year-old wasn’t at his brilliant best as he plundered 140 from just 113 balls, helping his side to a convincing 89-run win at Old Trafford.
That knock also means Sharma joins Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli (twice) as the only men to score 50+ in five consecutive ODI innings for India, so Samaira’s impact has clearly been potent.
“The space I’m in right now is a very good place in my life,” smiled Sharma. “Having a newly-born daughter has put me in a good space.
“I’m enjoying my cricket, I was coming off a great IPL campaign and have started well at this World Cup.
“We know how important it is to start well at a World Cup, so the focus was on that first of all. As a team we’re heading in the right direction. It’s important to keep ticking all the boxes.
“The crowd come to matches for entertainment and we were really good as a team. We really wanted those two points following the washout last time and we wanted to display our skills because we’ve been in good form.”

I know one thing, when your leader is coward and lazy you can't except something good from team. Come on it's damn WC you can't yawn behind the stumps. Look at his ground engery level just zero. When you can't do a simple runout than it means you are mentally and physically not fit. Babar got zero game awareness still stuck in nervous 40's. We will listen some same old fairy tales to get change everything bring in illyas, khushdil etc etc. We have simply have no plans. We are just hero's of lalaland.

Although DLS takes the sheen off the victory a bit, this was India's most satisfying victory v/s Pak yet - I don't see Pakistan progressing to the semis now. A knock out by arch rivals.

The only silver lining from this match, and the world cup thus far, is that Pakistan's performance strengthens the case to sack Sarfraz, and TTFs from the team.
Enough with the *there is no one else to Captain* excuse. If you are not up to the mark, then it is time to go. He cannot bat, cannot captain, and frankly speaking, cannot represent. Sack him, and time to take risks with fresh blood.
Pakistan does not have a talent problem, it has a leadership and mindset problem right now. When you captain is yawning on the pitch, when your players are turning their back to you on the pitch, and where there is no interaction between captain and players, you know something is not right.

Biggest take away is the bowling of Shankar and pandya. Sure, Shankar was not battered by the pak batsmen. But he has bowled exactly as it is supposed to be on eng pitches. And pandya bowled well with better pace. The only concern is no explosive batsmen from 4-7 for India. That is apart from pandya. Other than that they have most bases covered for them.
The most surprising thing for me that, whatever I have followed this game, it was a horrible game for India. So many things went against them that I can make a list -
1. Last game’s MoM missed through injury, his replacement probably cost India 15 runs
2. Lost the toss, was put in when they wanted to bowl first
3. Kohli was given out wrong
4. Fakhar probably survived for a wrong call
5. Bumrah was called for confusing no ball - I thought it was for height, they showed foot fault, which wasn’t there
6. BK got injured and they had to replace him with Shanker (and he got the 50+ average batsman!!!!)
7. Rain interrupted Indian innings breaking momentum when India was destined to reach 340+, may be even 350. I am sure without that break Sarfraz would have carried with Hasan and allow him to reach 100...
Still it was a win with bonus point .........

Pakistani team failed to cash in on the instances like bhuvi's absence, KL opening for the first time in the tournament, Bumrah being ineffective, kohli's gift, and the overs bowled by shankar and deluded pandya.

too often, i feel us indian (spectators in the stands and keyboard bloggers) go over board and spoil the atmosphere with certain boorish behaviours, and the one upmanship....but end of the day true cricket fans love the game for what it is ...exactly a game....

I think its Bharat Arun(played for us in a few tests/odi's in 80's) ...i sort of remember Ravi demanding that Bharat Arun be our bowling coach when Ravi was appointed the indian coach/director or whatever fancy designation the BCCI have given him...

Rohit Sharma.... wow! I don´t think I´ve seen him bat like this before too often, especially whilst batting first, as his usual approach is to just bat quietly till the 40th over and then blast. Yesterday though, he meant business right from the word go. That six over point must´ve dismantled the bowling line-up badly. Wow! Kuldeep is a seriously good spinner. He was troubling the batsmen throughout. Really like this guy.
Sarfraz won the toss and decided to lose the match - as simple as that! I sympathised with him when he took the same decision against Australia, and partly understood it too because the overhead conditions were a lot more threatening that day. Yesterday the conditions were easier than that I felt. Also, knowing the Pakistan team, batting second guarantees you a defeat. So you can´t commit this suicide twice in a row in must-win matches. Pakistan had to bat first, EVEN IF it was the wrong decision to make.
As much as it hurts to be admitting this, but Pakistan just lost to a team way better than them in all departments. The team is lagging behind its contemporaries a long way. In fact, our cricket culture, our whole community of fans too is lagging behind I feel. I read a few posts on social media yesterday, people lamenting the absence of Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal, even Mohammad Sami and a few others. How can you do that! Beyond me! We need a time-machine to move forward by maybe 15 years!

It was billed as potentially the match of the tournament, the clash of the titans, a battle between old foes, a match that could be a nerve-jangler and a match that would enthral thousands in the stadium and over a billion television viewers. However, what ensued at Old Trafford on Sunday was nothing short of a one-sided damp squib and a match that never really was a contest.
The only thing that went Pakistan's way was that they won the toss, after that it soon went downhill. Grey skies, dampness in the air and a wicket that had been under the covers for large parts of the last few days were the reasons why Sarfaraz Ahmed chose to bowl first. But, it was always going to be a gamble against a powerful Indian batting line-up. It was a decision that relied very heavily on the new-ball being a success and therefore putting pressure on the Indian middle-order. Truth be told, the match was over after only 10 overs of the Indian innings when Pakistan failed to make a single breakthrough. Mohammad Amir steamed in, tried hard with the Indian batsmen showing him a lot of respect. The rest of the Pakistani new-ball efforts were mediocre to say the least as Hasan Ali struggled again and Wahab Riaz failed to provide the firepower that he was selected for. A crucial run-out chance was missed and once that opportunity was gone, so were Pakistan's chances in the clash at Old Trafford. There was no coming back for Pakistan against the Indian juggernaut as they eased their way to a total that was always going to be a step too far for Pakistan.
Pakistan teams of yesteryear have always had the ability to fight to the end, show a never-say-die attitude and have fought to the last ball. Aggression has been a pivotal part of the Pakistani cricketer's armoury. However the current side thus far at the World Cup has shown a distinct lack of that fighting spirit Pakistani teams are famous for. Winning and losing is part and parcel of the great sport of cricket, but what will hurt Pakistani cricket followers the most is the lack of effort and desire shown by Sarfaraz Ahmed and his men. If you cannot be pumped-up and in the zone for a match against your arch-rivals then when are you going to be?
Pakistan have looked lacklustre in the field throughout the World Cup apart from some golden moments against England at Trent Bridge. The levels of fitness of some of the players must come into question and the body language currently looks like that of a team who would rather be back in Pakistan than playing in such a high-profile tournament. The leadership has lacked ideas, it has lacked innovation and it has lacked the ability to get the best out of team-mates. The skipper currently looks like a man who doesn't know where to turn, which direction to take his team, his senior colleagues are showing little in terms of support and the younger players are buckling under the pressure of the World Cup without any guidance.
Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur at his press conference said that he had told his players that it was a chance to become a hero if they performed well against India, a chance to be remembered for years to come and a chance to win the adulation of millions of Pakistani cricket-lovers around the world. Those words were inspirational but seemed to have fallen on deaf ears as his players showed a total lack of fight and application at Old Trafford. Rather than become heroes, several of the current group of players have been mocked by Pakistani fans after the crushing defeat to India.
For Pakistan to have beaten India it would have had to be one of those great days for the Men-in-Green. It would have also required India to have an off-day. However, neither happened. India were professional, well-prepared and with a game-plan where they knew that a score of anything over 300 would put Pakistan's brittle batting line-up under pressure. Pakistan looked a defeated team once the new ball spell had failed to provide any wickets, heads were bowed throughout the day, there were lots of hands on hips, furrowed brows and scratching of heads. It wasn't a pretty picture, in fact, it points to a team lacking direction and a team which looks out of its depth at the World Cup.
There will be lots of questions asked about the defeat to India, questions that this team probably cannot answer. Hmmm...bigest takeway also would be KL.....dude was given a big assignment, not easy being asked to open and that too in high pressure game....i thot he handled this well, was patient, decisive....and most importantly when he moved , he bent his knees to hit those drives or swivel...a lot of times when he does not do that he nicks or sends one in the air or misses it (cue...tour of aus and the early part of eng tour...just my 5c observation)...also fantastic to see Ky's rediscovering the dip and drift (he always had turn)....hopefully they build on this.....

In the last few years, there’s been a massive difference India and Pakistan - and again it showed at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Pakistan are still trying to rely on talent alone, while with India it’s all about teamwork. They all know their roles, and they execute them superbly.
We had good sides in the 1990s, but now I think this India team intimidates Pakistan.
When Pakistan teams head into these games, they are always under pressure and feel like they’re the weaker team.
That culture needs to change first, and then the fitness level needs to match the Indian players.
Of course, Sarfaraz got it wrong at the toss; especially when you’re playing two spinners and you decide to bowl first.
More than that though, I feel that they got it wrong with the ball in hand. They struggled to put the ball in good areas on a regular basis, and it was easy pickings for the Indian batsmen.
India have very classy batsmen, let’s not forget. They wait for the bad ball, and didn’t have to do much against the Pakistan attack given the inconsistency in the length.
Mohammad Amir was the only one who created a bit of pressure by bowling a good length.
I feel English conditions actually suit him the most because there’s always something there for him. He knows how to bowl on these pitches.
Amir has come back with a bang and he’s now bowling really well, finding a nice rhythm.
But elsewhere, that venom is not really there and the pace is down.
I would now try and bring one of the youngsters back into the team. In this Pakistan bowling attack, there’s no real pace apart from Wahab.
When you look around at the other teams, they have guys that can bowl 140kph, so maybe Hasnain is the way to go up front with the new ball.
The good thing is Pakistan now have one week off before the next game against South Africa.
They’ll have time to go back and reflect on the mistakes that have been made, and what needs to change.
The South Africans are also down, so it’s a match between two teams that have not really justified their potential yet.
All is not lost, despite the blow of this latest defeat. I feel that if Pakistan win all four games, there’s still a chance they go through.
The chances of that happening are low now, but it's simply a case of starting to win games first and then see where you are later in the tournament.

All credit goes to the Indian openers for setting up the foundation while playing v calculative cricket early on. No a pressure game like Goa scoreboard pressure was always going to make things difficult for the chasing side.
I think Pakistan apart from a little fight back with the balk in last few overs of Indian innings, had a very poor game. They weren’t up to it.
India also must consider themselves lucky they weren’t up against a batting line up capable of exploiting the injuries, part timers and some dropped catches. England would make you pay if your frontline bowler he’s u hired after bowling 2-3 overs.

I turned the TV off after India were 220/1, I knew the result would be an Indian win, so why watch ? From what I saw; the epic Sarfraz sleepy Yamnnn behind the stumps, Pak players on a whole looked sloppy and unprofessional the whole time I watched the match. I don't know how Pakistan can get out of this funk they are in, it is quite sad and is eroding Pakistani cricket. Would home games in Pakistan improve this ? maybe, but I have no idea how the attitude in Pakistani cricket infrastructure can be changed as a whole regardless, it was a terrible performance, Pakistani fans deserved better...
I also received a phone call from my little nephew in ENG who went to see the match and was bragging about how the Indian fans including himself were making it hard for Pakistani supporters on purpose to make their time at the game miserable. I understand all about rivalries and all but I had to tell him to try and be the bigger man as act of kindness does not have to cost a thing, unfortunately I don't believe he took my advise well......
Its such a shame Pakistani players cant take part in IPL, the WI cricket has practically been resurrected because of the IPL, I hope one day Pakistani players will get to take part in it again..

I agree, the fans need to have a sense of camaraderie. That is what sports is for. Regardless of the rivalry, giving space and having friendly attitude to fellow fans is not only a sign of maturity, but also a requirement for a good human.
Yes, I want some Pakistani cricketers in IPL. It is good for the sport.

The most worrying part for Pakistan is that India didn’t even need their top guns Dhawan, Bhuvaneshwar, Bumrah, Chahal to stop Pakistan. India played at just 70% of its potential. Shankar and Pandya were enough to finish the job of course with the support of brilliance from Kuldeep.

What's the think tank doing? The decision to not bat first when you are mentally and technically weaker side in such big match was the first grave mistake.
On top of that the captain doesn't lead the team well. No surprise element for the opposition to put them off track. He just looks timid and always blindly defending his wrong decisions.
Poor player selection. Malik didn't deserve to be in the team. Haris is way better than him.
Overall, it was pathetic to see Pakistan losing without a fight. Thier middle order is weakest among all the teams in this WC. They are badly missing someone like Misbah or even Inzamam.
Then there are no big finishers. You cant expect your bowlers to score runs every time.
Lack of quality spinners is another problem. Where are the replacements for Saqlain, Saeed Ajmal? Just Shadab and even he's not as effective. Yasir Shah never performed in ODIs. Only part timers like Imad, Hafeez and Malik won't do.
