We had a fine record in Odis in last few years despite of brittle middle order because other teams have more weaknesses.
The team has to undergo strong revolution if they have to maintain their wonning perceentage over 70 next 5 years.
All these grandpas and daddies in middle order should be relaced asap with the new blood. Two strong middle order batsmen who could bowl part time bowlers.
One opener needs to be groomed in case of bad form/injury early retirement of either Shikhar/Rohit.
Hardik, if plays needs to decide his primary suit either batting or bowling and useful in secondary suit.
Good wicket keeper eho can attack with the bat should be given opportunities.
One finger spinner is required on spinning wickets.
Bowling looks fine.Just one left armer like Zaheer should be groomed.
Your thoughts? Ideas?

The transition will be silky smooth thanks to India’s elite mentality, their domestic structure and of course the wonderful IPL.

Shaw, Gill and Pant are world class players already and will be part of the team for 2023. A couple of the rapid U-19 pacers will also be ready in a couple of years.

India’s future looks as good as ever, and they will continue to be a force for years and years to come.

It should have begun in 2015 or 2017 latest. We blew up a golden opportunity to win 2019 WC because of desi mentality of favouritsm, lobbying, senior worshipping culture .

2023 will be the same we will have over the hill Rohit, dhawan and not the same as today Kohli playing and we will lose that also.
Shame really

Incredible depth for india .Once the worldcup is over there team will be alot more stronger than current one

Shaw, Pant and Gill will be regular after this WC. They don't need to worry

They have some very good young prospects.

1-2 of them will click.

Gilchrist and Hayden ages were around 37 in 2007 CWC and Dhawan and Rohit ages will be quite similar in 2023

These changes will be made. India know how to phase players in and how to phase them out. Think they just went for experience for the WC. But after the WC you will a lot of new players tried.
