While the overhyped Indian top order got humiliated today once again on an away tour, Williamson and Nichols were only 18 balls short of the longest test partnership in the UAE. They showed temperament, heart ,guts and determination on a difficult away tour with a near record breaking partnership. A fantastic clinic on test match batting ! :)

If the Indian batsmen should be emulating someone, it should be the #1 ranked batsman (who, surprisingly, is also in the Indian team).

Knee jerk reaction atleast wait till both team finish there first inning

Unfortunately our batsmen don't have the two brain cells needed for that.

Rahul in particular is probably counting down the hours to the next IPL auction, whenever it is. Rohit probably thinks that anything he scores in a test match is a bonus to his limited overs form, and Vijay is likely wondering why even he's in Australia in the first place.

No need for that, they need to have self belief and patience. They wants to play flashy strokes they 'll never succeed. They made mistakes that's why they went in hole.

Aus will always be on their top game at home. All Ind batsmen need to do is be patient.

This is true. Currently, between the four of Rahul,Vijay, rahane and Sharma there is very little batting intelligence.

And what is Rahane thinking of?

And what is Rahane thinking of?

I don't know what to make of Rahane at this point. In that precarious position where I'm not sure that I should be supporting him or bagging him.

I wonder who they will drop in the 2nd test for Shaw. Rahul seems lost. Also Rahane is just worthless. Kick that guy out and bring another batsman in. A guy that averages 30 in 2 years should never be part of a team as a specialist batsman.

Time for support has ended long back

Would play Shaw,Vihari and Bhuvi for Rahul,Rohit and Rahane. 4 bowler strategy is wrong too

While I understand the point being made, last time NZ played a test at Adelaide, they scored 202 and 208. Emulate them?

AUS batting is weak. Not bowling. So we need more batsman.

We need quality more than quantity.I'm sure first 3 will collectively score more runs.Bhuvi also applies himself more than Rahul,Rohit etc

Plus 4 bowlers is not the way to go on these pattas. An injury is imminent

Below average total so far, but India are still on top considering how weak and inexperienced this Australian batting lineup is.

Finch. Khawaja. Marsh. Paine. There's enough for them to score a boatload of runs against our attack.

You can get away with 250-type totals in England. Not in Australia.

Here's what will happen, if anything: we'll bundle them down to 130/6 or thereabouts, then Cummins or somebody will stamp up and they'll somehow climb up to 300 - 310 all out. By the time we erase that trail, we'll probably be 3 or 4 down and it'll be a downhill spiral from there to 0-1 in the series. Puhlease, I've seen this movie so many times before!

Finch has been in bad form lately. The other three are more likely to score, though Shaun Marsh is prone to making single digit scores when he doesn't have a good game.

A lead of 50 won't make much of a difference, since Australia will be batting last and India will just need to get a decent score on the board. Australia do have a strong bowling attack though, hence it could end up being a close match.

Poor thread. You can't play UAE style cricket in Australia. If you do, Australia will win easily.

Indian batsmen still think they are playing on the subcontinent, and they have shown how arrogant they are by only playing one tour game and that too against a bunch of kids who humilated them.

The interesting thing about that game was the Indian body language, lazy, unit and not interested and if you play like that in your only praqctise game, then you take that into the test, and it was proven yesterday just how bad India are, for a so called NO 1 team they are pathetic and very arrogrant.

They have already shown they have taken us very lightly and they were thinking that they would humiliate us, that Adleaide pitch will have something for the new ball bowlers all through the test match, and I can gurantee you if India don't get early wickets tomorrow then we will make 500+ but then again Indians are bragging about their "world class" bowling line up so we will see.

Hmm...stage 1 is going as per plan.

The overhyped Indian batsmen are not batting on the same batting surface and against the bowling attack that New Zealand batsmen are facing at present. The underhyped Australian batsmen are not doing any better either on that Adelaide surface.

As expected, they probably have enough runs on the board given how fragile this Australian batting lineup is.
