Interesting is that Shan Masood who has a good LIST-A record + playing in the counties has loads of experience and also was top scorer for Pakistan in the WT20 in Aus in 2022 playing in the middle order which is not his ideal position, was dropped after that + good connection within PCB couldnt get his name in the side even after a disastrous CT at home soil..

I don't understand the venom against both Shaheen and Rauf in T20 format. I wouldn't want them in ODI or Tests but certainly T20 is the ONLY format where they can deliver. I am happy with dropping Babar and Rizwan in T20 and hope they will be dropped soon in ODI. I like the T20 team with few exceptions as I think it's time to try Hussain Talat one more time but only in T20's.
ODI team I don't like at all with the exception of bowlers as thankfully they have dropped both Shaheen and Rauf who are both useless in longer format.

Win and losses are not important in NZ series but rather sorting out some new players who should form the core of both T20 and ODI teams.

That's my point, there's nobody domestically who stands out.

Some people keep heralding names like Khawaja Nafay, Hassan Nawaz and Omair Yousuf but all three have identical SRs of 131. That'll likely decrease further against better bowlers in international cricket.

I mean in the past, there'd often be legitimate grounds for Pakistan fans to fire up the hype machine whether or not that youngster kicked on. Now it feels like we're scraping the barrel !

That said Arafat Minhas was hard done by. He was selected for the ZIM tour and did nothing to deserve exclusion. Akif Javed is picked for ODIs but not T20 - statistically his strongest format !

Neither Qasim Akram or Ahmed Daniyal deserved callups for Zimbabwe but the former played one game, the latter played none, and both are dropped. The funny thing is Aqib Javed and the selection panel has remained the same since then so they can't use the usual excuse of instability.

We're literally pulling names from a hat from series to series with no rhyme or reason.

Lord samad is yet to score a 50 in t20s and hassan has a bradmansque average of 23 and a spectacular sr of 131.

HASSAN:23 AT 131
SAMAD:18 AT 145

SO decide yourself who is better.

Pakistan get humiliated in ODI cricket so they remove Rizwan from T20 captaincy and keep him as ODI captain.

He should never have been appointed T20 captain but the logic behind removing him shows PCB have still not got their heads around proper selection and different formats.

I think it is good move so they cannot escape from tough tour like nz also it won't be easy to scapegoat youngsters in t20i squad if they fails

inzimam ul haq questioned the decision of making salman as t20 captain, citing he is not a regular captain in domestic cricket.

Considers it a hasty and bad decision. Changing T20 captain on the basis of ODI cricket is joke and absurd.

What a joke selection , yet again . The guy who until recently was not good enough to be selected in T20 team is now captain and another one who was dropped for lack of performance is brought back without any performance and that too as Vice Captain, only in Pakistan.
