Indian forces open fire at vehicle carrying UN officials at LoC

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Indian forces at the working boundary opened fire at a vehicle carrying officials of United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) on Wednesday during its visit to the Khanjar sector.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, Indian troops committed Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire violations by targeting UNMOG officials Major Emanuel and Major Mirko who managed to survive the incident without receiving critical injuries.

The incident occurred today in Khanjar sector where Indian forces opened fire at the UNMOG officials despite the vehicle carrying blue flag which is a part of the procedure. The targeted UN officials belong from Philippines and Croatia.

Last time both sides denied ceasefire violations. This time both sides release video footage of bombing each other. LOC is an active battle zone, and you expect heavy firing today. Stupid of UN guys to risk their lives.

united nations, May 25 The United Nations has dismissed pakistan Army's claim that its military observers came under attack from Indian troops near the Line of Control, saying there was "no evidence" of them being targeted.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said there was no evidence that an UNMOGIP (United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan) vehicle was targeted by the Indian Army along the LoC near the Khanjar sector.

"I can say to you that this afternoon in Bhimber District, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, UNMOGIP military observers accompanied by Pakistani Army escorts heard gunshots in their vicinity. There is no evidence that the UNMOGIP military observers were targeted by the gunfire. No UN military observer was injured," he told reporters yesterday.
