So what if they are? Hindu's are obsessed with this "ghar wapsi" thing as well.

I think a lot of Indian shias support BJP just to spite the Sunnis in the country.

I'd be surprised at that since Ehsan Jafri was targeted and killed during the Gujarat massacres in 2002, and he was a prominent politician who was Shia. Why would they support the party whose leader was accused of being complicit in killing one of their own?

Shias are same as any other Muslim sect, they all preach their faith and hence will be seen as a threat by Hindu hardliners.

Shias are same as Sunnis, both have sets of stupid muslims. We have some factions of shias and sunnis both trying to appease Hindu nationalists. Religion has nothing to do with it. Just that they put their own interests ahead of justice.

Most of the media and western govts have named Iran as the global leader in state sponsored terrorism.

Lots of hate in your heart I notice.

You'll source the western media and governments when convenient.

Who sponsored ISIS, OBL, Al-Qaeda?

Even in Yemen, Houthis are considered the terrorists while Saudis have killed Yemenis indiscriminately to prove a point.

You're a hypocrite because on one hand you'll criticize and hate on Israel/Jews. On the other you'll call Iran a terrorist state (an enemy of Islam) for standing up to Iran because they are Shia.

I don't care much for Iran and don't think very highly of them but hating on Iran (accusing them of state sponsored terrorism) by a Pakistani Muslim is the height of hypocrisy.

How to differentiate a Shia from a Sunni, genuine question. Can I figure that out from the name? Or are rituals during prayers different? The only thing I notice is Shias hurt themselves during Muharram.

Shias generally dont pray 5 times a day, they love to wear black for some reason, every other Shia claims to be from the Ahle baith ( prophets family), you will never meet a Shia with the name Umar, abu Baker or uthman, for the females they never use Aisha.

When they pray they place their foreheads on some clay from karbala( a place in iraq), their azan is also different to Sunnis.

Thank you for the information.

Do Shias and Sunnis intermarry? Also is there any process of conversion from Sunni to Shia and vice versa? Asking because they are separate sects but both within the umbrella of Islam.

They do but generally it's an exception to the norm, if you convert from sunni to Shia, all you are doing is basically agreeing that Ali should have been the successor of the prophet (PBUH), not Abu Baker, Umar and than Uthman, if you convert from Shia to Sunni you basically accept that Abu Baker was a legitimate successor to the prophet, problem is some Shia believe that abu bakr and Umar are apostates because they didn't give Ali the caliphate, but no sunni has a problem with Ali, we view him as the 3rd greatest Muslim some Sunnis say the 4th greatest Muslim after the Prophets.
