Indian Premier League and ICC Champions Trophy cricket have given Bollywood a close run in Google’s 2017 Year in Search results. The ever-growing need to get live cricket score of IPL and Champions Trophy matches this year is eloquently manifested in Google’s top trending queries overall for Indian audience this year.
According to a media release from Google, Indian Premier League, ICC Champions Trophy played in the UK in June this year and live cricket score were among the top 10 trending queries in Google’s search engine. But IPL was relegated to the No. 2 by Bollywood blockbuster Bahubali 2.
The 2017 Indian Premier League was won by Mumbai Indians. The Rohit Sharma-captained Mumbai Indians defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by a run in the final played in Hyderabad on May 21.
The ICC Champions Trophy was played in the UK. India went in as the defending champions but lost the final to arch-rivals Pakistan in a one-sided final at The Oval on June 18. This was Pakistan’s maiden Champions Trophy win. Search interest for live cricket score of both IPL and Champions Trophy were very high, according to Google.
