When: Sunday, October 18 at 15:30 IST

Where: Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi

What to expect: It's going to be quite a tricky decision to make at the toss for both the captains. Abu Dhabi is one venue where teams chasing have started winning again reversing the prevailing trend in IPL 2020. But it is a day game and that might prompt teams to bat first irrespective of the recent results.

Squads:

Kolkata Knight Riders Squad: Rahul Tripathi, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik(w), Eoin Morgan(c), Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Chris Green, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy, Prasidh Krishna, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Sandeep Warrier, Siddhesh Lad, Nikhil Naik, Lockie Ferguson, Rinku Singh, Ali Khan, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Tom Banton, Manimaran Siddharth

Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad: David Warner(c), Jonny Bairstow(w), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed, Shreevats Goswami, Siddarth Kaul, Abhishek Sharma, Prithvi Raj Yarra, Abdul Samad, Sanjay Yadav, Basil Thampi, Virat Singh, Fabian Allen, Billy Stanlake, Bavanaka Sandeep, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nabi, Wriddhiman Saha

Teams:

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Jonny Bairstow(w), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Basil Thampi

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): Rahul Tripathi, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik(w), Eoin Morgan(c), Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Chakravarthy

Sunrisers Hyderabad have won the toss and have opted to field

Gill should not play T20 cricket. He should rather focus on playing FC cricket, sign County and play test and ODI matches for India.

KKR have given their middle order a platform. Need to get a decent score for their strong bowling line up to defend.

Gill needs to get out. Platform is laid for DK ,Morgan, Russell.

That's excellent from Vijay Shankar, 19/1 by him.. SRH get away with their 5th bowler..

KKR have the bowling to defend this. Cummins has a good record in T20s when bowling to Bairstow. So if he can get Bairstow or Warner early it would put a lot of pressure on SRH who desperately need a win.

Warner is an excellent player of pace. Why is he dropping down the order ? Why doesn't Bairstow drop down as he has an awful record against Cummins? Why is Williamson even opening anyway?

At times the franchises over analyses stats. No way should Warner be batting down the order.

Cummins has made Bairstow,Root, and Buttler look like tailenders at times and PP posters have the nerve to call him overrated and rubbish LOL.

If Williamson is not fit, why is he batting? All these dot balls are just going to put pressure on Warner and the middle order which has been a problem for SRH. Not very good tactics by SRH here.

Don't forget Warner knows Cummins and is good against pace so why not take advantage of this?

Why has Cummins been taken off when he has a good record against Bairstow? Morgan captaincy in the last game wasn't good. Not a good start here.

I think Williamson is opening because he is hobbling while running. So, trying to make use of powerplays. This is gonna be fun chase.

Pathetic start by KKR. They have a quality set of players . Yet they are so flat and scraping wins. And losing games badly at times. Something definitely isn't right.

Yep it seems that way. Looks like it's working so far tbf.

Hopefully for SRH Williamson won't miss any matches with his injury.

Simon Katich was involved with KKR as a coach. They let him go and appointed Mccullum who isn't looking convincing. Whilst Katich is now at RCB and they are having a great season.

Brendon Mccullum philosophy as a player and captain was to express himself and just look to attack with no plan B. KKR aren't even playing in that fashion. That philosophy of all out attack wouldn't even work. I really don't see Mccullum winning the IPL or doing much as a coach.

If I was KKR I would definitely be looking improving the coach.

Happy to admit I was wrong about Williamson opening. Looks like a genius move right now.

Hopefully for SRH Williamson is not out for a long period as he looks in good form.

I hope SRH win so it keeps the competition alive. KKR aren't convincing anyway .

Better captaincy from Morgan. KKR well and truly back in the game.

Would definitely bring Kuldeep on soon. He is a wicket taker.

Kkr and rajasthan royals have all the star power but are playing without a plan.

Gill isn't a t20 player as of now, similar to how kohli was in the initial seasons of ipl but there's no reason to think that he won't learn.

Which team do you support in the IPL?

Fergurson could give KKR the boost they need. He knows how to get wickets in the middle overs.

Kuldeep is soo good man. What the heck were KKR thinking of leaving him out ?

Oh dear! Ferguson has destroyed SRH batting lineup. This is gonna be hard for David Warner now. They need to bring Jason Holder in the XI.

Russell picking up injuries and he isn't contributing much. Will be interesting to see if KKR stick with for the next IPL.

SRH XI next game:-

Warner
Bairstow
Pandey
Shankar
Garg
Holder
Samad
Rashid
Sandeep
Natarajan
Khaleel

This is their best bet. Holder is a proper all-rounder and a good finisher. Vijay Shankar has no utility with bat at 6 or 7, play him at 4 or if 12-13 overs are done, just send Jason Holder ahead.

Fergurson and Cummins as a pair certainly makes KKR bowling stronger. Just need to sort out their batting order.

What on earth is Russell bowling?

Is this what his bowling is these days?

Super Over.

Warner, Bairstow and Dunno in for SRH.

DK, Russell and Morgan in for KKR.

I didn’t notice (recall actually, did notice initially) that Ferguson was KKR player. That makes their squad much better balanced. Now, I believe they’ll make the Play-offs.

What a difference of standard of bowling....Lokie Morris....then u have Thampi Undakat Mavi..... I think baring Bumrah no other Indian bowlers would afford to bowl in super over

If only New Zealand played more tests, feurguson had potential to be top 3 in the test bowling rankings

The foreign recruits like , Nortje , Archer, Lockie , Rabada have made the Indian quicks look like half baked trundlers.

Nopes.

MI- Bumrah
DD- Rabada
KXIP- Shami
SRH- Bhuvi
RCB- Saini/Morris
KKR- Lockie
RR- Jofra
CSK- Bravo/Chahar

And after all that to take it to a Super Over SRH made a mess of things.

Ferguson was superb.

Massive difference in the standard of overseas pacers and the Indian pacers in this tournament.

Russell has to bowl At death bcoz cap has no other option...pathetic even Morris is looking more threatening than Saini and other halwa pacers...this
IPL has showcased the significant difference between
Foreign pacers and local slow pacers.... Just remove Sami Bumrah Bhuvi.....the other pacers are hardly anything to write about

U have mentioned Sami and Chahar.....Saini is highly inconsistent at death and pressure situations....RCB would give bowl to Washington or Morris........Sami's record at death is no better ......only and only NATRAJAN has some chance but SRh won't overlook Rashid for that guy.....plus he is not Bumrah...
Bravo is past his prime super prime premium years......I don't think any captain would risk him
Bhuvi Chahar are similar type and batsman like AB Morgan others would wait 4 their slowers knuckle balls.....to dispatch to fence

Even umpires would have scored more than 2 runs in super over if they given a chance :broad

Shami proves you wrong. Punjab will go for Shami every single time :))
