During the Champions Trophy there was a mixed media zone where teams were asked to send at least 1 player after a match to speak to the press.

All of the teams obliged apart from the Indian team.

Even after they thrashed Pakistan at Edgbaston, they did not send a player, yet Pakistan who had been humbled sent a couple of players.

In addition at every press conference the Pakistani media were largely ignored and not allowed to ask Virat Kohli any questions.

All rather quite bizarre and even the Indian media was annoyed at them not sending players to the mixed zone.

Perhaps it was a preventive policy or perhaps a bit of arrogance.

All signs of a team in strife.

Wrong. The journalist who asked VK that first question in the post final press conference was a Pakistani. And to be honest, I'd rather have Pakistani journalists not ask them any questions if they want to make a fool out of themselves the way that reporter did.

He should had asked him in Urdu/Punjabi ,if you are talking about the question I think you are.

Wasn't a Pakistani

Yep, agreed. Urdu would have been more suitable. But then again, we suffer from a certain inferiority complex.

Interesting. I heard from someone he wasn't because Pakistani media weren't allowed to ask the Indians questions as Saj said

You may be right. But an extremely reliable inside source told me he was Pakistani.

i think players should not be allowed to make any interview to any media outlets and even in press conferences. We need our players to be fully focused for their matches and shouldnt worry about facing media. There should be spokesperson elected for every team to care for that matter.

Most of the players are not good at speaking skills, so we dont know how long do they have to work to prepare themselves to face media. And how much stress that they have been going through.

We dont know whats happening in players minds either but immaturity of media to over criticize & to overpraise might preoccupy players minds too. And that may halt their performances greatly. Remember how umar akmal & ahmad Shahzad were praised? media started to compare them with legends like inzamam & yousaf. And see how they ends up with.
And conversely over-criticizing may also breaks the players morale & their passion to fight and may also put them in constant pressure.

And i was so inspired to see how misbah & aamir averted the useless criticism by media. Misbah knew that our journalists were idiots he never gave two heeds to them, had there been some other captain in his place then that captain would have resigned at day one by facing so much useless criticism. Aamir also didnt payed much attention to media either.

Our players are also really innocent, they dont know how to dodge the tricky questions asked at press conferences & in media. And usually in such interviews they are usually asked to tell who will play for next match and in which position will they be playing and what will be their plan for the match and do we wish to bat first or ball........ Why the hell should we disclose all that?

No you are wrong. As I said Pakistani media were largely ignored.

I've heard he is Pakistani and the Indian media guy probably thought he was Indian.

Which question? The Fakhar no-ball being a 'pleasant moment'?

i guess you are one of the minority
and its the case with any country not just Pakistan

It's people like this guy who give us a bad name. Don't generalize 200 million people based on your own naive views or your biased outlook. Pakistanis are proud people and only a few have inferiority complexes including ExpressPacer.

I have no issue with this before a Pak - India game or any big game

After a game it is poor though

And it is people like you who like living in a fools paradise. To fix a problem you first need to accept that a problem exists. While Pakistani people are proud of their heritage as Punjabi's, pathans or whatever their caste, they would kill to be able to fluently speak in English. Perhaps a case of colonial hangover.

Have you had any other pleasant moment throughout the game? :)))
