2007, 2024 or 2026 - which T20 World Cup win was more special and which Indian T20 captain deserves the highest plaudits?

For me it has to be Dhoni. He won the WC with perhaps the weakest Indian team which did not have exposure to IPL

Rohit too deserves credit because he finally broke India's ICC final curse

I can't credit Surya that much. Too me he has been lucky to feed off Rohits, Dravids hard work and the fact he has an ATG side at his disposal.

You can't have a 'world cup' every two years. The one that mattered they lost and after hosting the World Cup in 2023 somehow get to defend the T20 cup at home again after two years ?.

This was a ceremony for the indians and their religion that others just take part in

2007 anyday, that Misbah catch is a folklore! But 2024 was an improbable win, so special too.

Surya Kumar Yadav deserves the highest plaudit.

This win will be remembered as the best win ever on home ground infront of 100000 people

2007 always, that was special, India won an icc tournament after 24 long years!

It used to be PCT’s religion once upon a time then they got non-believers in the team.

This was a boring match. the previous two indian matches were so good.
Anyways 2007 >> 2024 >>>>2026

2014 because it broke the jinx of the Indian team not winning an ICC tournament in the last 10 years back then.

2007 because it was in SENA I guess. They didn't have any perks. They won fair and square.

2026 was easy. Home advantage. Venue perk. Scheduling perk. Other teams were weaker.

2024 was farcical too because India received various perks. :inti

2007 because ..this year it is more or less on the expected lines ..team India on true surfaces >>>> any other team. It is a ATG T20 team this time

2007 as India won a World Cup in senior men's cricket after 24 years.

2024 for breaking the jinx.

2026 for winning back to back + pressure of being home team.

Rohit Sharma.

Dhoni was a great captain but during that WC everyone was just having a blast and it didn't seem as serious as it has since become.

Would personally prefer if they made it every 4 years but they won't as T20 is such a money spinenr.

Rohit Sharma is the most important because we had reached the point where it seemed like we could never win an ICC title again. Rohit-Kohli were about to retire and the word on the street was, that was our last chance in a long time. And many of us had started to believe it.

It took Rohit and boys winning for this line of thinking to binned as we could finally see that it was just a matter of the floodgates opening. Talent and skill would always keep coming through. But without that win, we might have just been another South Africa - great players, not much to show for it.

All World Cup win are special but 2007 as it was inaugural World T20. ..

As long as Jasprit Bumrah is there, winning the T20 World Cup will be easy for India.

:kp

2007 probably, this team isn’t so impressive without certain favours, but that controversy aside, fair play

You can give Bangladesh all the perks in the world and let every batsmen bat 3 times in the same game and they still wouldnt win anything in cricket.

Must be pretty miserable thought to cling on to.

2024 & 2026 are dominating displays of performances in finals. No look of panic or fear.

They bossed 2026 but showed fortitude & mental strength to win the 2024.

ONE BAD SHOT MISBAH you Dumb**s and we lost a great opportunity.

It used to be PCT’s religion once upon a time then they got non-believers in the team.
No, cricket's never been a religion. You've tried eradicating all your history of occupation yet your religion is now the pass time of the occupier

2024- we had to come back from a certain loss.

2007 was always in the either due to Pakistani mental ineptitude or corruption- only Misbah will know that.

2007 simply because we would never hear the end of it had it gone wrong lol

but for sheer cricketing skill and quality it would have to be the 2024 final. Defending 30 runs in 30 balls with 5 wickets to go and a very well set batsman on strike in a final is proper dream material. I still cannot wrap my head around how we won that match. Proper textbook heist. But then again we won defending 183 in 60 overs against the very best WI team which is even more incredulous !

in short there is quite nothing like Indian cricket ... what a legacy we have built !!!

How to refresh the appeal of trophies:

1. Cancel the Champion's Trophy
2. Cancel the ODI World Cup after the next one.
3. Delete ODIs from the calendar.
4. Have the T20 WC every 4 years, not 2.
5. Have India host the tournament no more than on every 3rd occasion.
6. Have England host the test championship no more than on every 3rd occasion.
7. India and Pakistan are not deliberately seeded together to play a game in the first Sunday of a tournament.
8. If either of them do any rona dhona about venues, chuck them both out of the tournament.

Has to be

2007 > 2024 >>>>>> 2026

As Newman would say about Tuesday, 2026 has no feeling
