Tilak is not playing like he is out of form. He is playing slow.

Abhishek is playing like a tailender. He is mentally shot. He does not look like the same player we saw in Asia cup.

Not sure how Axar would have made any difference. He is not much better than Washington.

This team is too dependent on Kishan and Dube. Rest are hit or miss. Once Kishan got out in the 1st over, it was evident India were not going to chase this. The on many out of form players. For once Indian bowling also looked ordinary.

It's funny because they wholly deserve such humiliations. All the nonsense that they are the best, soo rich (toiletless rich), IPL best with best players etc etc bunch of jokers you have only won 2 T20 trophies out of 9 so humble down
 
South Africa strengthened their status as genuine T20 World Cup contenders with a commanding 76-run win over defending champions India in their opening Super 8 clash.

Revisiting the 2024 final in Barbados — where India had triumphed by seven runs — South Africa posted 187-7 after being asked to bat first. A blistering 65 off 35 balls from David Miller and a brisk 45 from 29 deliveries by Dewald Brevis revived the innings following a shaky start that saw them slump to 20-3 within four overs.

India, who had cruised through the group stage unbeaten with four wins, struggled in their pursuit in Ahmedabad. Their chase never gathered momentum, and at 51-5 by the 10th over, the result seemed inevitable. They were eventually dismissed for just 111.

South Africa’s innings got off to a disastrous start as captain Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock, and Ryan Rickelton fell cheaply inside the powerplay. Miller and Brevis then steadied the ship, with Miller — a former Gujarat Titans player in the IPL — looking fluent from the outset, striking boundaries freely while Brevis initially supported him.

Brevis later accelerated but was dismissed five runs short of a fifty. Miller continued the charge, reaching his half-century in just 26 balls. By the time he departed in the 16th over, South Africa were strongly placed at 152-5.

Although India’s pace duo Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh applied the brakes at the death, Tristan Stubbs provided a late surge. His unbeaten 44 included 20 runs off Hardik Pandya’s final over, lifting South Africa to a competitive total.

With the ball, Markram struck immediately, dismissing the dangerous Ishan Kishan for a duck in the opening over. Marco Jansen then removed Tilak Varma three deliveries later. Although Abhishek Sharma ended his streak of three consecutive ducks, he managed only 15 before falling to Jansen. Captain Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal midway through the innings effectively extinguished India’s hopes.

Keshav Maharaj dealt a decisive blow by claiming three wickets in the 15th over, while Jansen returned in the 19th to take two more and finish with figures of 4-22, sealing a comprehensive victory.

India must now beat Zimbabwe in Chennai on Thursday to remain in contention, while South Africa stay in Ahmedabad to take on former champions West Indies on Wednesday.

India's left handedness is being exploited by teams. So India needs to mix a few righties. Can't be tied down by spinners upfront like this. In 3 matches we were immediately set back

Miller is always clutch player for them but now they find another clutch player bravis.

I don't think they will choke anymore. Yes they can lose the match but not due to choking.

It will be a historical moment for them as they never win in white ball tournaments. They have to not only fight the team they’re playing but also the pressure of being labelled “chokers” which has been such a huge mental block for them
 
Oh well that was a damp squib and quite an underwhelming performance at a manhoos stadium, the names jinxed. No way this teams lifting the cup

They won 1998 CT. First ever CT.

But, yeah. They have never won a white ball World Cup. This is a great opportunity.
 
Victory and defeat are part and parcel of the game but losing by such a margin puts our run rate in bad territory and we know Indian team cannot take tournament pressure once they lose a match.. so I guess this is all over...well u win some u lose some..not a biggie
 
Pretty fantastic win for South Africa after 20-3. Straight up annihilation of the No. 1 ranked team in the world

I have never liked fans and media running their mouths before a match. It's humiliating when the result doesn't go their way, and they end up embarrassed. Just look at @Devadwal and @Mesozoic as examples. It's better to stay quiet, watch the match, share your thoughts afterward or during the match, and move on to the next game if the result isn't in your favour, rather than acting like spoiled brats. :rabada2 :inti

If it fits their strategy they can do that. But there was one instance in 2007 world cup where South Africa just had to lose gracefully to INdia to make it through to the semi final. They got absolute shellacking that day so badly that NRR took a dive and lost the spot in semi final. So SA won't try to pull off these gimmicks.

They have to feed boards like yours. That is why. You can't bring in money to ICC. 80% of the income for BCCI is generated by India. So when you contribute something to ICC make those demands.

We don't need kudrat. If SA is destined to win, so be it. They have a solid team. Our team needs some retouching . I always knew there is some soft under belly in a couple of areas.
 
The NRR might bite India. Zim and WI are also tough games, even if you win it ll be close encounters...
