The rounds are slowly making way to market a new movie in India Manto based on Saadat Hasan Manto and his life. Truth be told, i have never heard of this guy until i heard about the movie right about now and just watched the trailer. Pakistan allready made a version of his movie back in 2015. Not sure why India feels it needs to make this movie as well. But with that being said , is there enough meat to warrant a movie or is something about his life that truly needs to be told first by Pakistan and now by India ? The indian trailer is on you tube.

India probably wants propagate the part of Mantos life when he was homesick of Delhi so regretted partition.

Couldn't seem to find the Pakistani version despite looking everywhere for the past 3 years and had forgotten about it. A new search just showed that it has been uploaded in 3 part episodes on youtube. Have heard rave reviews about it. Can't wait to watch.

this song from the movie is class though. take us back to past. Beautiful adaptation of ghazal of urdu poet "meeraji".

It's actually a 23 episode series, which nobody wanted to air due to the content and thus they made it into a movie, Geo although has bought it and all the episodes are available on Youtube. Stayed in today during the weekend especially since the Mrs and daughter are in France, have binge watched 12 episodes so far, could have been better but still top notch, reminds me of Ankahi, Tanhaiyan and other dramas when Pakistani television was at it's zenith.
