Just look at the massive difference between his away and home numbers in Test cricket...

At Home

Away from Home

1 century at home in 24 Tests and an average of 29.

6 centuries away from home in 23 Tests and an average of 53.

What a classy player. He's the light at the end of tunnel for WI cricket.

Expect him to get home average at 50+ as well.

He is a very talented player and has underachieved massively. I remember a few years back some people thought he will become one of the best batsmen in the world.

maybe its the tacky pitches in the WI that dont suit his type of batting.

Bravo has been immense in this match.

If he can stick around for another 36 balls he'll have faced more deliveries than anybody this test

He had the ability to score fast (saw some of his T20 innings) and hit those huge sixes but his main focus is always to play the longer format

Respect to him for that. I wonder how DJ Bravo feels about that.

Classical Test batsman. A rare breed in the Caribbean these days.

Congrats to Kanye West (Darren Bravo) on getting his 100

He kind of looks like Kanye West, agree?

Its funny because WI pitches are quite slow, with little bounce and often aid spinners.

They aren't massively dissimilar from Asian pitches where he has a great record yet he possesses such a poor record at home.

Now 7 out of 8 centuries away from home in just 23 Tests! He is the last hope for West Indies in Test cricket...

Beautiful innings this from Bravo. Tremendous batting.

Looks such a classy batsman at times.

Not really RR is over 3. Bravo-Bishoo partnership and no way they will win. Holder wicket is needed.

The score is now under 100. There are plenty of overs left to play here. I think Windies got this unless Pakistan some how starts taking wickets.

Yasir Shah you beauty! Great innings by bravo comes to an end...

Absolutely amazing innings. He was tested by Amir/Wahab with nasty bouncers, Yasir/Nawaz bowled some beauties as well but he's shown the cricketing world his class.

A 4th innings 100 in Asia (or anywhere for that matter) is no joke!

What a champion Darren Bravo!

One of the best innings by a Caribbean player in a long time defn some good young talent coming along for them hopefully their board doesn't screw things over.

Bishoo and Bravo made this test worth watching, almost looked one sided.

It's grave injustice to NOT give him the MoM.

He thoroughly deserved it. Nobody else could do as good as Bravo. SALUTE!!!!!

And excellent past record too. Didn't know about this WI gem before!! Massive respect to him....also considering the WICB and T20 mela there.

JUST READ. FIRST COUSIN OF BRIAN LARA!

No wonder.

Apparently this guy is regarded as the next Brian Lara. Has the eye pleasing effect.

Its injustice to compare him with great Brian Lara.....

His record make him great when playing away and not too many achieved that excellence even great batting talent of India.
Hopes he will improved his record at home too.

He's another dilemma for the statisticians who have full faith in domestic F/C averages and believe that it is says everything that needs to be said about the caliber of the batsman.

Bravo is average on the sluggish Caribbean pitches but top class on better quality pitches.

He has the potential to score 20+ hundreds at an excellent average but he will probably fall short because of the pitches in the Caribbean as well as the lack of Test cricket for WI in general.

Classy player not surprising as he has Lara genes. The resemblance in batting is clear to see. Lara and bravos mother are first cousins which makes bravo the nephew of Lara. DJ bravo is also stepbrother of Darren. What an incredible family tale eh. 3 stars in one family.

Brian Lara - legend

Dwayne Bravo - Windies LOI legend 2 T20 titles and champions trophy

Darren Bravo - In production and by the time he finishes up will be a Windies legend

For the next 5 years or so Darren Bravo will be the one player keeping Windies going in the longer formats, much like Lara had to. Let's hope windies develop a couple more players by then so that they can become more consistent at least in test cricket. Boy do I miss watching a decent Windies team in tests.

So nice to see him back in Test cricket.
A very good batsman in the format.

That was one ugly, horrible to watch innings - but it was Test cricket at its best. A batsman battling hard for his team and putting a price on his wicket.

It was glorious knock, I enjoyed every second Saj! That grit, determination and will to smash the English despite being under severe pressure in violent conditions is what made is so beautiful for me. This is the type of application and dedication Pakistan fans can't comprehend, they think a good strike rate is the be and end all when Test Cricket is a chess match. England failed because when the pressure was on their batsman chose to attack unlike the West Indians.

A gutsy knock from him. He has every shot in the book but he chose to fight and give himself a chance to get out of form. Credit to him.

The experienced left-hander played a significant role in the 10-wicket win in the second Test match at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground. He batted for over six hours for a hard-fought half-century – which was the topscore in the Windies first innings.

“My goal was just to be there as long as possible for the team. I didn’t know how long I’d batted. But I felt it physically after the day’s play. The captain asked for someone to take responsibility and bat for the team and I decided to do that. I’m one of the most experienced players. I thought if I was there so long, it would give our bowlers some time to rest and get as big a lead as possible,” Bravo said.

“My goal as a kid was to play 100 Tests. And it was my goal when I made my debut. It’s still my goal. I don’t think anything can replace that, actually. I’m on 51 now, so I’ve a few more to go. Hopefully I can play for another five years and achieve that. Test cricket is most definitely the best test of a player. This – playing for West Indies – is my main focus. I’m available for all three formats and I’m happy to be back.”

The two teams now travel to Saint Lucia for the third and final match of Wisden Trophy Series. The match will be played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground from Saturday, February 9 to Wednesday, February 13. First ball is scheduled for 10am (9am Jamaica Time) daily.

Match Schedule

1st Test: Kensington Oval – Jan 23-27

2nd Test: Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground – Jan 31 to Feb 4

3rd Test: Daren Sammy Cricket Ground – Feb 9-13

He's still the most complete Test/ODI middle order batter WI currently has but keeps getting sidelined.
The only other guy that has impressed recently is Alick Athanaze.
