Just heard on the radio that the UK government have asked India and Pakistan to resolve their differences peacefully and hold talks to solve the problem.

Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a Hindu parliamentarian from Pakistan, on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.

Vankwani, a member of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was part of a foreign delegation which was invited to attend the Kumbh Mela by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

He also met Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh on the fringes of the event.

Talking to ANI, Vankwani said, "I thank the Indian government for the warm welcome accorded to me. I met PM Modi, V K Singh and held discussions with Sushma ji. I assured that there is no Pakistani involvement in the Pulwama attack. We should move in a positive direction, we want peace."

"Whether (Pakistan-based) JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammad) has claimed the responsibility for the attack for taking credit or is actually involved, is a matter of investigation. I can assure you that these days there is no such establishment in Pakistan which can use Pakistan land for acting against other nations," he said.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide bomb attack on their convoy on February 14 in Pulwama in Kashmir. JeM had claimed responsibility for the terror strike.

I only read the Times and they are very pro-Zionist. There hasn't been much coverage so far, but they are willing to indulge the Indian version as much as is possible from what I have read. Might be more neutral reporting from the Independent or the Guardian.

Pretty minimal coverage in the US. Only those who seek out international news and read a lot of it actually know that a conflict is going on. Rest of us are occupied with Cohen-Trump saga, Trump-Kim upcoming meet, Venezuela, the wall, Alexandria Cortez's updates, Bezos' divorce, and even the Grammys (no surprises there).

I was in a veterans reunion event yesterday and brought this up with some of my buddies to talk about war/political strategies and majority did not even know about this issue. Those in the South Asian community are obviously in the loop, to the rest this is barely a blip.

when it comes to international geopolitics there is plenty countries do to support the favoured side behind closed doors, however when it comes to the pointy end of a spear there is very little foreign powers can do.

everyone knows India should back off if sense is to prevail, Pakistani would never want a full fledged war with India, unfortunately they also know that with modi in a corner, ego bruised and with little experience in such a scenario, his actions are likely to be highly erratic and unpredictable.

Erdogan hails Pakistan's freeing of captured Indian pilot Abhinandan

ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hailed the release of captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman by Pakistan.

The Turkish president said that reducing bilateral tensions was in the interest of both the countries.

He said he had spoken to Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi on Pak-India tensions, and that Turkey was ready to play its role in de-escalating the situation.

Tensions between India and Pakistan reached an all-time high following Indian incursions into Pakistani airspace and subsequent downing of two Indian aircraft by Pakistan Air Force.

Indian warplanes intruded into Pakistani airspace in the dark of night on February 26, however, they turned back swiftly soon after Pakistan Air Force scrambled its fighter jets.

In order make the escape, fleeing Indian jets dropped their payload in a hilly forest area near the northern Pakistani town of Balakot, about 40 km (25 miles) from the Line of Control (LoC).

The Indian government was quick to take credit for a successful "attack" and putting the death toll to over 300. Pakistani officials, as well as the locals, rejected the silly claims, inviting local and international media to visit the site of the so-called attack with around a dozen trees downed.

On February 27, Pakistan Air Force downed two Indian jets and captured an Indian Air Force pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, as Indian Air Force once again ventured into Pakistani air territory.

Pakistan, however, released the captured pilot on Friday as a "gesture of peace".

But tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours still prevail, with the United States and other global powers mediating to de-escalate them.

RAWALPINDI: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today, said a press release issued by ISPR.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and current situation between Pakistan and India were discussed.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability and reaffirmed KSA’s support to Pakistan.

COAS thanked the minister for taking on the mantle of peace effort in very difficult circumstances, saying that KSA has always been a true friend of Pakistan.
