What's new

Internet existed in the days of Mahabharata, says Biplab Deb, the BJP Chief Minister of Tripura

Lolz I saw one clip yesterday about one pro-Bjp journalist defending some bjp supporter displaying ancient airplanes by ancient indian scientist in national science fair held in india. Dont know if this is recent news or old news but I just saw this video yesterday.

The dude just kept deflecting questions from the anchor and kept delivering ad hominem on the indian left wing journos & analysts that were there.. Now I realize why arnab shouts so much at guys for proper answers even though that is annoying as hell. These dumb a s s e s have a stupid logic for every dumb thing they propagate like the ultra-conservative in our country.

:))) :))) :)))

Buahahahaha the fb comments are hilarious as hell. That is genuine trolling right there

That's exactly what I have been saying,it's a brainwash, conveniently things are put into bracket of heaven and hell to things humans can't understand about how can GOD be so unfair/cruel.

I'm not saying humans know everything, all am saying is GOD watches his/her own creations burn and feel pain where he/she could had easily created restrictions on unfair practices ,just like when we jump off a tall building to the ground we die not bounce off, rape could have had consequences if GOD intended to.

I already mentioned the concept of free will which humans have. Ironically when something good happens people hardly say that God did it but when bad things happen people begin asking where is God and why he doesnt do anything.
To supplement this, i would also mention the concept of hereafter where all wrongs will be judged.

The more problematic thing is he spoke in Hindi while being the CM of tripura,a Bengali majority state. It clearly shows that bjp is in favor of the cultural imperialism of hindi

If you are against cultural imperialism, have you stopped using English?

It's a ridiculous statement and a mad thing to believe in but is it really any more or less ridiculous than believing in the buraq/flying horses, humans being able to survive without their heads (Baba Deep Singh, the Sikh guru), snakes that can talk to humans, humans who are 10 or 100 x bigger than humans today, creatures with animal heads and human bodies, angels with wings, flying chariots etc etc etc?

No. Because most of the research materials I need is available in English only. It's case of necessity with me. Do you think Hindi is a necessity while representing and addressing a predominantly Bengali speaking population?

I see, except when it doesnt involve your research work you use your mother tongue.

Hindi is also a necessity when reaching out to a wider audience. Bengalis understand hindi very well and don't need to prove their love for their mother tongue by going anti other languages.

Do you know that the upsc questions are available on Hindi and English only? Even if Bengali's are comfortable with understanding Hindi (not true in general)
,certainly we are not comfortable with writing Hindi. It gives the Hindi speaking population an advantage compared to others. As for the relation between this point and my previous point, that kind of mentality enables giving Hindi more importance than other regional languages.

The problematic thing is he was elected by the people of Tripura by a landslide majority and if they dont have an issue with him speaking Hindi, People of Bengal shouldnot be having one either.

Hindi is understood by the largest number of people in India, Modi's mother tongue is Gujarati yet he speaks Hindi clearly.PV Narsimha Rao's mother tongue was Telugu yet he spoke Hindi. You know why Bengal has not been able to give a single PM to this country in 70 years? We are too stubborn to understand that Hindi is needed to interact with a vast majority of this country. And we are too arrogant to realise that speaking another language doesnot de mean my own.Another reason why people of the north want to separate from bengal.

Another gem from an Indian politician.

'Test Tube-like Method Used for Sita's Birth': UP Deputy CM Joins League to Bizarre Comments
The deputy chief minister even went on to claim that live telecast also happened during Mahabharata. Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Dinesh Sharma also said that other modern day technologies like cataract operation, plastic surgery, gravitational theory, atomic tests and internet started in the mythological era.

Stem cell research in ancient India. :)

The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University has said that India possessed the knowledge of stem cell research, test tube fertilisation and even guided missiles thousands of years ago, providing as evidence, tales from the Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Speaking at the Indian Science Congress on Friday, G Nageshwar Rao said, "We had hundreds of Kauravas from one mother because of stem cell research and test tube baby technology. It happened a few thousand years ago. This was science in this country."

"...Mahabharat says, 100 eggs were fertilised and put into 100 earthen pots. Are they not test tube babies? Stem cell research in this country was present thousands of years ago," he added.

So where did all this technology go?

It’s all fine and good to say that India had all this technology thousands of years ago but why did you stop using them and go back to playing with sticks and stones?

It was not technology, but divine powers given to virtuous men of those times. the powers were lost when we turned our back to God. the jeans tee shirt wearing hindus pay to go to clubs where they drink and do other sins, but they don't go to temples where entry is free and which cleanses your soul.

Ancients definitely had advanced technology, see how Egypt’s Gizeh pyramids alignate on the Orion constellation, the so-called Baghdad pills which take back the history of electricity centuries back, etc it was a special knowledge given to men of Allah (swt) but also the power of jinns : the Annunakis, a race of supermen behind old civilisations Zechariah Sitchin wrote about, and which Ridley Scott recently integrated for his Alien movie series, are probably jinns as well.

Already Plato in his Timeus/Critias dialogues quoted an Egyptian priest who told to a Greek, Solon, that Greeks are children compared to Egyptians for their lack of genuine knowledge, so imagine what Ancients would think about moderns who subscribe to materialism, in other words have chosen to live like animals.

Solon, according to Plato, was also told by Egyptians about an advanced civilisation which existed a few thousand years before Solon's time in the city called Atlantis. Atlantis was described as a city built on the pattern of rings. It got destroyed after a cataclysmic event and technology was lost.

Lets stop the ridicule for a while but what are the chances that advanced civilisations existed thousands of years ago and got destroyed in cataclysmic events? Has anyone done any serious research or study on it?

Yes and Egyptian civilisation is an outgrowth of Atlantis, that’s why unlike Sumer it’s rise is so « sudden » (own hieroglyphs, complex administrations, ... with no apparent influence from Mesopotamia) for historians, because it took from Atlantis.

There were other older civilisations than Atlantis like Lemuria, etc the ancient Hindus getting inspired by the lost continent of Mu.

Interesting. Why do you think this information isnt mainstream or debated and researched on a larger scale?

It would relativise a lot of what makes the « pride » of « modernity ».

True. And how certain are you that these theories arent just fantasies built up on insufficient information or made up ancient myths?

Being certain about the uncertain is a privilege of the believer, and to talk of ancient myths is modernist mythology.

I watched the film Ashoka many years ago, and in that film the Hindu King gave up violence for Buddhism which brought an era of enlightenment. My theory is that while India was becoming enlightened, they were first invaded by the Arabs who came with the sword, then the Jihadi British who were less enlightened, but used their science to build guns and cannons which blew ancient Indian stem cell research out of the water.
