RR should bring klassen in middle order by dropping Darcy short Andopen with tripathi.
Hopefully today archer plays.
 
How can Binny open the bowling for any team? This Gowtham is your typical average spinner.

RR has a joke bowling unit.
 
Has there been a more pathetic bowling unit in cricket history ?? I mean ever !?

He is spraying the ball all over the pitch. So pace is of no use.

The rest of the trundlers bowl at one spot at 125-130k and getting destroyed.

Basically no matter who bowls for RR, the result is a boundary.
 
CA should seriously think about recalling Watson for 2019 WC, with Captaincy; unless they have already decided to make Smith captain immediately after return.

But, RR is playing him almost every game, as if like someone is trying to prove that it wasn't a panic buy. Could have played Kulkarni today.
 
To be fair to the Indian trundlers in RR, even the foreign players are going at well over 10 an over.

The likes of Stokes, Laughlin are taken to the cleaners.
 
Samson needs to score a big 50 or a hundred for RR to even get close to the target.
 
Chahar could have gotten both Rahane and Klaasen in the 1st over. Bowled beautifully.
 
Samson should have hit that short ball down the leg for a six. Instead he finds the fielder. He got out the same way last match too.

Samson should be part of Indian T20 team for sure as a keeper bat. He has all kinds of shots and scores like a boss.
 
Only the jealousy invoking Pak bowlers are allowed to take wickets. What are these Indian "trundlers" doing !!!

He is still a brilliant batsman at T20 level. You can see the way he plays his shots. Can't believe he is not given a long rope in the shortest format of the game. We all know why he does not play for India.
 
Taking cue from the commentators some of the RR blunders this season

1) Pushing Butler down the order.
2) Pushing Tripathi down the order.
3) Stuart Binny. Enough said
4) Unadkat . Name is enough.
5) Gowtham - what is he good at. Faking a cricket player ??
 
Tripathi should be opening with Butler for RR.

But Rahane is selfish and opening himself.

Royals Batting order should be
1) Tripathi
2) Butler
3) Samson
4) Klaasen (Play him when spinners are on).
5) Rahane
6) Stokes (finisher)

Royals have got it all wrong. Couple this with their sorry bowling unit, it is a loss before the match is even played.

That team is a mess. A dud T20 player as a captain, but insists on opening at all costs. It starts at the top for Royals.

Looks like Warne is IPL equivalent of Viv. Paid holidays masquerading as mentor.
 
Why so many seats are empty - renovation or security measures, or RR isn't popular among locals?

Not exactly true. Cuttack , Nagpur , Ahmedabad etc were always packed for non local teams. This is more due to logistical difficulties of a late change in venue.

CSK home matches moved 2000km away from Chennai to avoid local goons who created trouble in last home game for Cauvery issue :facepalm:

Chennai's loss... Pune's gain :19:

Chennai is Benn pain in back many years with SL players as well, better to ban Cheapuk forever.

KA had so many problems with Cauvery SC verdict in past, KA fans never troubled cricket match.

If it was Trivandrum , that would've been a great spectacle. World class stadium and crowd. Also being in south India , crowd can relate to CSK. But the in-house fighting made sure that will not be the case.
 
One sided T20 games are a pain to watch - now RR will try to play out 20 overs for a better NRR.

I think, in T20 leagues, they should introduce Bonus point (& point deduction) system so that there is still a smaller target.

Say 0.50 points extra for winning within 80% (either way run or over), and deduction of 0.50 points for such loss - net net every game is worth 2 points (which won't hurt other teams - otherwise, teams can fix 2 games for 2.50 each); and that deduction should ensure that teams don't leave in a hopeless situation.
 
Unadkot is a better batsman than pacer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
