18th Match-Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab

RCB vs DD at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

Had quite a bit of rain in last 24 hours in Bangalore, hope rain stays away tonight :19:
 
Team management decisions in this year IPL is quite appalling to say the least.
 
In the KXIP vs KKR match,

KKR should play Jaggi in place of Gill. KXIP should pick Axar when he becomes fit as he can bat.

In the RCB vs DD match,

RCB needs to drop Sarfaraz.

RCB XI should be:

1 MCCULLUM
2 Patel (WK)
3 Kohli
4 DE VILLIERS
5 Mandeep
6 DE GRANDHOMME
7 Deshpande
8 Muragan
9 SOUTHEE
10 Chahal
11 Umesh

DD seems quite obsessed with Nadeem. They should pick spinner Jayant who can bat as well. DD should drop Shankar & play Gurkeerat. Drop Shami, play Avesh.

DD XI should be:

5 Iyer
6 Gurkeerat
7 MORRIS
8 Jayant

Ok cheers... Sometimes need to give credit to world class batters and batting friendly pitches as well, not always bowlers fault. Foreign bowlers are also getting hit quite often in IPL #BestVsBest

DK seems to have turned a new leaf after that Nidahas trophy effort.

Whenever I see him bat, he is playing like a champ. I am slowly becoming his fan. He is much better than MSD at this point.

Listen man, indian pace bowling talent after 3 or 4 bowlers drops off steeply. But the foreign bowlers are also getting smashed. They are all going at over 10 rpo. So why target Indian trundlers only?

You can show some appreciation for Indian spinners. They are doing well.

I am Least concerned about Foreign players. I want how my countrymen do.

Regarding spinners, I don't even follow them. I am a huge fan of fast bowling.

For me it's first Fast bowling, Batting and then comes spin bowling.


Yeah it really saddens to see that we just have 5 quality Bowlers.

And as I say, 50 for trundler Sran.

Every test nation have 3 to 4 premium fast bowlers at any given time....that's the norm. Only exception was WI of old may be.

I am not asking for a premium fast bowler, but an average one.

But the likes of Undakat, Sran, Shankar, Thakur, Siraj, Vinay these look like Club level ones.

And what I saw at the Nidahas trophy, oh my goodness!

These IPL pitches have nothing in for pacers. Even bounce and not a hint of movement.

Only bowlers like BK who have a bag load of tricks up their sleeves are doing well. The rest do not have the same talent. So even if they bowl 140k’s, they will be taken to the cleaners.

You simply cannot compare IPL and PSL pitches.

It is a travesty that Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed are not getting a game. In this regard kkr are good. They gave Mavi a chance and he did much better than Vinay.

Now we know Mavi has talent to play at highest level. He will be the leader of our bowing attack in 3 or 4 yrs. he is already better than Siraj, unadkat and Thakur who played in nidahas trophy.

U19 ones are more promising than the current ones :19:
 
Wish Nagarkoti was playing so that our friend “Kohli,king of chase” would not use the word trundler so often.

Bro it's not about IPL and PSL pitches. What happened at Nidahas Trophy. SL pitches are really good for both batsmen and bowlers
 
Mavi is 19. He can skid the ball at 140k+. Not an easy bowler to hit .

Regarding skills, this is his first experience with big boys. He will develop them slowly...

For starters, we already saw that both Mavi and Nagarkoti possess a mean Yorker as we saw in u19 wc.

Blame goes on selectors for picking those duds in the team.

Bhuvi
Bumrah
Pandya (I don't rate him personally, but he's okay in this attack)
Shami

Whom do u want to be our bench strength.

Don't say Nagarkoti or Mavi, as we all know they won't debut atleast till 2020 practically.

I would add Umesh Yadav and Ishant. They are decent and sometimes excellent. That will be 5 bowlers to pick from.

With not much bench strength, Mavi and Nagarkoti will get their opportunities much earlier. Mavi is already showing what a good bowler he is. Kkr trust his abilities. He opened their bowling today.

Never been this excited to see kings XI matches since Maxwell madness, where he was devouring every other team.

Watson, Gayle all in form since RCB let go off them? Something not right with the culture of that franchise. :facepalm:
 
In olden days, they used to say intimidating fast bowling and scaring batsmen with hostility, without adequate protective gears. I think, now bowlers feel the same bowling to CG when he is in charge.
 
KL Rahul on a mission to get his spot back for WC 2019. He is in terrific form.
 
Punjab already ahead by 31 runs as per dls.

Karthik miss the trick by not starting with spinners in powerplay.

Also i don't understand his idea of not using tom curran in powerplay and not even finishing his 4 overs most of the time.
 
This is a super flat wicket where you can swing through the line and hit big shots.

Shows kkr are short by about 30runs.

Punjab team has 2 agrresssive openers who are relentless. Very difficult to bowl at them on a road like this.

Pitch got quicker in the second inn8ngs. Ball was skidding and com8ng on to the bat nicely.

Not sure why they are still sticking with Vettori. He doesn’t seem to be doing anything, add dumb captain to the mix. They have one of the worst teams despite having two of the world best batsmen in the team.

Anyway that state and owner deserve this. I am happy.

Agree, they need someone more authoritative to counter balance kohli. Not sure who can though, and that's why I don't rate kohli much as LOI captain, he's not open to ideas contradicting him.
