Williamson versus Rahane. The battle of the nice guys. :msd

Going for a Sunrisers win. There team is a lot more settled and there bowling attack is very strong.

Rajasthan Royals - 125/9 * (20 ov) - low scoring game!

SRH bowling attack is very strong. They will be very difficult to beat at home. Today they didnt even use Hooda and Pathan who are decent offiies.

This lad Siddharth Kaul has impressive line and length. Also bowls a mean bouncer and Yorkers at will. I want Deepak Chahar and Siddharth Kaul to replace Thakur and Unadkat in T20s soon.

What? Not 200 plus. Is this IPL or PSL.

SRH has a pretty good attack and RR are hopeless when Rahane is opening for them.

I would say its a combination of excellent bowling and a rusty RR team which lacks the power hitting at the top.

I expect SRH to chase it down in 14-15 overs.

Sidharth Kaul bowled well. BTW ball speed checker isn't used this match?

Saw him before. He is a 125k trundler. Sometimes he can crank it up to high 130's. But those seem to be his surprise deliveries.

Rahane drops an easy chance. Let's see if he can handle the pressure of captaincy throughout the tournament.

Unadkat getting his routine phainty.

What did RR see in him to pay so much money is a puzzle. They deserve it.

No. In IPL we only see 200 so it's a bit disappointing to see 125 being scored by teams with the best batting talents.

Yes most of the times you would see 160+ scores. But once in a while team tries hard and end up getting below par score. It happens in cricket, if you have watched enough.

No. But in IPL it should be 200 plus ,i don't want any excuses.

One negative trend in that T20s are becoming too favourable for the chasing side. For that sort of distance, any decent side shouldn’t lose chasing in an even contest.

And this Unadkot guy ...... must have some inside story for his price!!!

That's because batting sides refuse to bat positively and then chasing sides know exactly what they need so don't play too negative.

You came up with weird metric and telling me that I am giving excuse.

If you are tryiny to say PSL has batting comparable to IPL, you have to get your eyes checked.

Sunrisers Hyderabad require another 47 runs with 9 wickets and 11.0 overs remaining

Sunrisers cruising along

This is a 200 pitch hence i am asking if you think otherwise please do enlighten us with you knowledge.

This ain't a 200 pitch by a long shot, RR just don't have a decent spinner or pacer for that matter.

This is a 200 pitch. Look at the way the other team is batting. By the way, can i borrow your trolling detector please.

A part timer is spinning the ball the ball like he is shane warne, it ain't the detector but vision that you need to borrow.

Complete domination of RR by SRH today. Even Samson's 49 looks pointless.

SRH looks like the side with the best balance in the tournament. I expect them to go all the way.

Actually the game is built like a catch 22 situation for teams batting first - if it ends like 35/3 in 2/3 overs, T20 is too short to make a comeback. For example, take today’s game - RR blew it in middle overs, 1/52 in 6’4 was a fantastic start to reach 170+

One solution can be to make it more bowling friendly so that teams has a chance to make come back from tight situations. At current form, whatever strategy is adopted, it’ll favour teams chasing on a 170 per game. It has to come down to say 134 per, through the game rules, wickets, boundary size etc.

Have you not seen international games where teams end up getting below par scores on flat pitches? Is this the first?

Go watch old games or go to cricinfo you would find a lot of info about cricket.

ok maybe not 200 but definetly 180 +. It's not a 125 pith as well

Depends on the bowling, RR have an issue of having no players who can play through the innings. SRH have 2 geniunely brilliant spinners in shakib and rashid combined with likes of kumar and stanlake it is a very potent unit on this pitch.

Unfortunetly that vision is a blinded vision as it can only see through IPL glasees. Better keep it with you.

They surely don't get 70 odd runs below par in t20. They don't help. But i want you to teach me as you know everything about cricket.

If RR keeps this attack, they are going to finish at bottom - this is honestly inferior attack than average BPL or CPL teams. And, their spin resources are club level considering the spin playing capacity of IPL. Whoever was in charge in draft has no clue of T20, for selecting a pace attack with Kulkarni, Unadkot & Laughlin; then none of their 2 spinners are specialist spinners; while Stokes won't be effective much in India.

It's a blow out today.

How dare you say a word aganist them.

was watching with Tamil commentary, it was fun, too bad there's no Malayalam commentary

They should improve the standard of the umpiring. Terrible umpiring in this game.

well RR bowl filth today. Pitch has something for bowlers today. Spin, bounce etc.

Everyone can see, so no need to rub salt :)

Average quality of IPL is very good, but somehow RR has goofed up this year with so much spending on Stokes & Unadkot. Gopal is batting at 8 and he is good enough batsman to bat in top 6, but the bowling attack is lop sided. Going forward, unless RR bats 2nd, they'll struggle to compete. May be in odd game Butler or Stokes will take the game out of chasing reach, but it's an imbalance T20 side.

If I am in charge of a T20 side, I'll blow most of my money to pick 4 bowlers - like Rashid, Strac, Bumrah, Mustafiz, Rabada, Boult ....

Bowling pick isn't good - no matter what you offer in wicket, unless spinners know how to use that, in IPL at least you have absolutely no chance to defend. Average spin playing capacity is better than most International side and RR today had 2 all-rounders to bowl spin - even on squire turners you would have seen Dhawan & Will sitting carefully and maintaining asking of 6 with 1 shot.

Over the past decade there have been various instances where IPL franchises have made brain dead decisions and paid over the top for some players but paying 11cr for Unadkat is the most brain dead decision ever in the history of IPL.

That tag goes to Negi. At least Unadkat had played a few internationals. But this Negi had done nothing to go for 11 cr.

:) :(:( - guy has lost pace after IPL draft. I am sure he was faster when I first saw him in SAF, I believe.

This IPL auction price can be dictated by many things . Tactics by other teams to increase the price , whether at the time of auction for a particular player the team has covered everything and thereby not desperate etc.

Before last year's IPL, Unadkat was a massive failure at International stage actually, but I still agree about Unadkat being an International player, still I would say Negi has more utility than him simply because he's an all-rounder. Unadkat is an absolute mug with the bat (and ball too :P)

Good to see dhawan score some runs.He hasn't dominated IPL in recent years.Kane williamson is most likely going to have good IPL with bat this year.Hyderabad's pitch will suit KW.

he has to open. and finchy one down.

Well I don't have team this time, will go with SRH since they've Yousuf, Shakib & Muralitharan :murali. Hope Punjab fails miserably this year.

Pathetic performance from RR. a good start from top order is must for RR they have samson, stokes, buttler in the middle order to cash in on good starts.
Bowling looking ordinary jofra archer will add x factor, kulkarni and unadkat needs to step up. Spin attack is ok gopal bowled well.
