Firstly, the IAEA had access to Iran's nuclear facilities under the terms of the original JCPOA, and verified Iran's compliance in 2016, 2017 and 2018. These were the words of the then IAEA director general in the same month Trump withdrew from the deal:

The IAEA is closely following developments related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). As requested by the United Nations Security Council and authorised by the IAEA Board of Governors in 2015, the IAEA is verifying and monitoring Iran’s implementation of its nuclear-related commitments under the JCPOA. Iran is subject to the world’s most robust nuclear verification regime under the JCPOA, which is a significant verification gain. As of today, the IAEA can confirm that the nuclear-related commitments are being implemented by Iran.

You argue this is different to Bush and Iraq, but Trump's first administration adopted exactly the same playbook of pressuring US intelligence to "find" Iranian violations of the deal !

Iran only fell into non-compliance AFTER the US withdrew in 2018. However if Iran were hellbent on nukes as you claim, they wouldn't have returned to talks under Biden and now Trump who twice has chosen war over negotiations.

The only viable way of ensuring inspector access is returning to the original JCPOA, which BTW was signed by other world powers including China, Russia, France, Germany and UK, or a revised version of it.
 
Why do Pakistanis think Iran getting a nuclear bomb is good news for them? There is border animosity and disputes between Pak and Iran too. I don’t think sectarian problems are an issue though: most Pakistanis are the most aredent followers of pan-Islamism and ummah than the others. The Arabs or middle eastern countries have a lot more animosity with Iran so they over look this mostly.

I guess Khomeini/Khameni type represents the average Pakistani persons pipe dream- a Persian featured guy with long islamic beard who imposes a strict authoritarian form of Islam. No other reason for them to cheerlead for Iran here. While definitely USA/ Israel are active parcticipants here which is a good reason, so is Middle East which one would guess would be more close to Pakistan from every rational reason be it economic, religious or political alignment perspective.

Probably the opposite reason why a lot of Indian right wingers are begaani shadi mein Abdullah deewana here.

You all read countless comments from Pakistanis on this forum condemning war, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, yet somehow twist that into them “supporting” Iran having nuclear weapons or backing aggression.

The only ones who seem confused here are the Hindutva crowd, who openly cheer for war and colonial style domination. And the reason is hardly mysterious, the hatred for Muslims makes the position pretty obvious.

US-Isral vs Iran War: A merchant cargo vessel heading toward India became the latest casualty of the ongoing war in the Persian Gulf after Iran confirmed that its forces fired on a commercial ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The attack has raised concerns over the safety of one of the world’s busiest maritime routes and the growing risks to international shipping.

Identified as Mayuree Naree, the vessel is a Thai-flagged bulk carrier that was sailing from Dubai toward India when it came under fire in the narrow and strategically important waterway. Iranian military authorities later acknowledged that the ship had been targeted by fighters from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This is one of the most direct attacks on a merchant vessel since tensions escalated across the region from February 28.

According to maritime security reports, the cargo ship was struck by projectiles while passing through waters close to Oman in the Strait of Hormuz. The impact triggered a fire and caused serious damage to the vessel’s engine section, forcing crew members to abandon parts of the ship as smoke billowed from the hull.


The ship had been sailing toward the western coast of India and was expected to reach a port in Gujarat for dismantling work at the Alang ship-breaking yard, one of the largest such facilities in the world. The journey began in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before the vessel entered the narrow corridor that connects the Persian Gulf with the Arabian Sea.


Rescue operations began soon after the strike. Naval units in the region moved quickly to evacuate crew members from the damaged ship as lifeboats surrounded the burning vessel. Authorities confirmed that 20 sailors were rescued safely, while three crew members are missing after the attack. Search teams continued combing the waters around the strait in hopes of locating the missing sailors.


Photographs released by maritime authorities showed thick plumes of black smoke rising from the cargo ship while rescue boats approached the vessel. The damage left the once-steady merchant ship bruised and battered as it drifted through one of the most strategically important shipping lanes in the world.


The attack occurred during a period of intense military activity across the Gulf region. The Strait of Hormuz has become increasingly volatile as war between US-Israel and Iran intensified following February 28 airstrikes on Iranian targets. Maritime agencies have warned that merchant ships sailing through the strait now face growing threats from missiles, drones and naval mines.

What makes you think a nuclear bomb in not achievable? It's a very old technology now, since WW2. Iran probably has it but hasn't declared it due to sanctions. They've shown their technological advances through their missile and drone programs so why wouldn't they have nuclear
 
People need to understand that the missiles from Hezbollah does cost Israel millions of dollars, and making replenishment critical during prolonged conflicts. Even Hezbollah knows their missiles will mostly be intercepted but they are tiring out the Iron Dome.
And this is the goal of Iran, to make it long. Really impressed by Iran, standing alone against two wild aggressors.

India and Pakistan have it for decades so why can't Iran? They've shown their weapons capability. Even the USA is copying their weapons - the LUCAS drone is a copy of Iran's Shahed drone. So read between the lines. They are very capable.
