State Department tells Americans worldwide to 'exercise increased caution'

In a notice on the U.S. State Department official website, the agency is advising Americans worldwide, "and especially in the Middle East," to "exercise increased caution."

"Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate," the statement reads.

The State Department is warning that U.S. diplomatic facilities, including those outside of the Middle East, "have been targeted."

The agency warns that groups in support of Iran "may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world."

Airstrikes, large explosions rattle Tehran​

Iranian media reported on Monday that targeted airstrikes in across Tehran resulted in significant damages as loud explosions rattled the capital, Fars news agency reported. As per Fars News Agency, the attacks occurred in districts 1, 4, 11, 13 and 21.

The attacks targeted expressways with loud sounds of explosions reported. "In District 13, Pirouzi Street; in District 21, the Garmdareh area; in District 1, Shahid Babaei Expressway and Shahid Langari Street; as well as in District 4, the end of Shahid Babaei Expressway and the Heravi Square area; and in District 11, Hafez Street at the intersection with Jomhouri, tremendous explosion sounds have been reported." It added that a child was killed in Khorramabad.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported of casualties and extensive damage after air attack hits Iran's Urmia. These come after the Israeli Defence Forces on Monday began a fresh wave of strikes on targets in Iran. In its statement the IDF said, "IDF launches a wave of extensive strikes targeting infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime in Tehran" -- ANI

I don't want to badmouth my own country but we don't have a business relation with USA. That would involve them heavily investing in our country like they do in the neighbourhood. What we have is an arrangement wherein we provide "favours" as a regional power in return for them legitimizing our military dictatorship. We do not have genuine country to country relations with the US. Our economic situation in particular would have been a lot better if that was the case. To be frank, a prosperous and stable Pakistan doesn't quite make sense for USA. They have a lot to do with the way we are as a nation.

I am not saying we cut off or show them the finger. Its not in our interest. But lets be real about what it is.
