Is Babar Azam emerging to become the most aesthetically pleasing Asian batsman on display?

The list is quite strong when you have the likes of Kumar Sangakara, Jayawardane, Yousuf, Tendulkar. These are probably the most delightful batsmen I have ever witnessed and their strokeplay was mesmerising at times.

Babar is still young and has a long way to go in terms of match these legends in terms of statistics and achievements. However the question I ask has nothing to do with Statistics or the ability to win matches, or how they play spin and pace etc. The Question I ask is, do you not get the same pleasure if not more watching this guy play some of his strokes? The ease he is at on the crease, at times makes 145 KPH bowlers look like 130KPH considering how much at ease and balance he is in. I may not always agree with his approach to a situation, however I without a doubt can honestly say I would love to watch him bat all day long.

Once again, I reiterate....I do not claim he is better than all those batsmen listed and current Asian batsmen such as Kohl. The thread is simply about the quality of his shots

Then not suited for T20 by definition!

Babar does not even come close to Mohammad Azharuddin

Saeed Anwar and Azharuddin, Sharma when it comes to contemporary players.

I think Haris is more pleasing to the eyes against pace and a better player against pace compare to Babar.

Haris' shots are aesthetically pleasing but I find his stance and trigger movement ugly. Babar is better to watch.

I dont like the way he play his pull shots , his driving through off side is good but I am not really a fan of heavy bottom hand.

Sharma hands down is the most stylish of the current subcontinent players.

Yeah, same here.

Compare Babar only with contemporaries. He can't be compared with the likes of Saeed Anwar who were THE definition of aesthetically pleasing!

Babr is good but Rohit Sharma is better. But yeah he's definitely good on the eyes - I guess after Rohit I might place him at 2.

KL Rahul is great to watch too.

Shehzads batting is a better sight to watch than babar when he gets going. He jus needs to learn to split the gap

Babar has arguably one of the best cover drives in world cricket today.

A thing of beauty when it whistles of his bat and goes to the boundary like a taser bullet :ravi

tracer bullet. :ravi

I like Sanga's batting too.

Technically he's retired but still playing in PSL.

Not even close to some of the 90s batsmen.

Rohit Sharma is definitely one of the most pleasing batsmen when he gets going. It's a real shame he hasn't done justice to his incredible amount of natural talent.

But yes Babar's off side game is sweet. His leg side game can become a little rigid though (i.e. pull shots).

Yeah Kon si Bullet Hay :danish

If Babar Azam is being talked about as the most aesthetically pleasing batsman then that says a whole lot about the sorry state of affairs in international cricket when it comes to this area. I really miss the old days with Anwar, Lara, Ganguly, Ponting, Damein Martin, Mark Waugh and MoYo.

Few batsmen in the history of cricket are fit enough to lace his boots when it comes to aesthetics. Unbelievable.
