Is Babar Azam now the dummy captain he didn't want to be?

So a vice-captain picked in the ODI format without consultation and without his knowledge.

Players being picked in various teams without the approval and agreement of Babar Azam.

I get it that captains don't have a monopoly on team selection unless your name was Imran Khan, but it seems that Babar is now the dummy captain that he never wanted to be and decisions regarding choosing vice-captains and starting XIs are now being made over his head.

Is he gently being pushed towards the exit door, maybe he will walk away himself as skipper?

Once again interesting times ahead.

He should resign from captaincy, but he wont.. he just isnt suitable for the role.. doesnt have it in him.. but i think he wont

It seems Ramiz empowered him too much and Sethi is now taking all that power away from him. Babar should resign to save his career. His Test captaincy deserves criticism.

I'm So frustrated to see a batsman who made me love with cricket again is in trouble.

Babar should resign from captaincy after today's match hopefully on winning note and focus on his batting only. Let them make captain whoever they want and don't become captain again in future.

Just like in past Tendulkar, Lara, Root etc.. the best player in team doesn't mean you will be a good captain. The fact this guy is more interested in personal records rather then team results shows what a clown captain he is.

All 3 format teams play the same safety 1st cricket with batsmen playing for themselves.

Whilst Pakistan is an average team, the negative way of playing cricket is showing an output of a minnow team.

Putting aside his batting performances for a moment.

The games that are being played to undermine him are not very pleasant to watch.

He's been made to look foolish especially with the Shan as vice captain situation.

To be honest, I always thought the traditional Australian system of choosing the best XI players and then a captain from within them, with the captain having no say in selection, was the best.
Steve Waugh commented that it removed allegations that a captain was biased towards certain players etc.
In practice, a powerful captain (eg Border) would have a word in the ear of a selector but officially the captain had no say.
Served them pretty well given their performance.

Whats with Shan with a vice captain thingy? Did Babar shows his dissent over Shan appointment or what ? Can you explain more clearly? What games are being played?

Babar wasn't in favour of Shan being names vice-captain and the decision was taken over his head and without his approval.

Tbh the captain has no say on who gets appointed the VC, that is strictly the boards domain and prerogative. PCB should remind him to strictly focus on his job.

To be honest Shan doesn’t deserve vice captaincy by any stretch of imagination , may be they appointed him to show Babar who is the boss.
