Is fear of losing against India is the reason behind Pakistan's boycott of Feb 15 game?

I tried hard to comprehend but could not find a valid reason why Pakistan want to boycott the India game.

Surely, security cant be the concern as the match is scheduled to be played in Srilanka.

Showing solidarity with Bangladesh dont fly either. They should have boycotted the entire tournament if that was the case.

Balochistan movement cannot be the reason as well since Pakistan just played 4 times in last 11 months against India.

The only reason I could think off is recenf Asia cup bashings at the hand of India and 7-0 in the last seven encounters forced them to wave the white flag.

Would have been an interesting battle given how bad India is playing spinners on dicey wickets like SL ,with esp that slinger chucker spinner Usman and other spin heavy attack . Its actually a good chance to surprise indian batsmen which Naqvi let go for whatever they are thinking

Lmao... Pakistan has been sponsoring unrest and terror in Kashmir since time immemorial in retaliation to Bangladesh .

WHere were these balls in all the matches Pak has played since so long ...and especially with the talk of being allowed to play IPL. ....

Chickened out after the kind of spanking India has melted out to NZ right now and other ace teams in recent time in t20s.

If spin won't work on SL pitches , The current line up may have well hammered Pak team to a 300 total given how intense the performance was last time when they met
 
I honestly don't think it's the fear of losing, you fear only when you have a realistic chance. I mean they literally always lose, aab tak toh aadat si ho jana chahiye inko.

When a team is consistently scoring 250+ in a T20 game, it's understandable some teams would not want to face India's batting wrath

If India had the Courage like Pakistan, they could have occupied atleast many parts of Pakistan by now. Despite being the size and Population of a Uttar Pradesh, Pakistan invaded India 2 times in 1965 and 1999. Bravo the Lions of Punjab.
 
Pakistan has played India with much worse teams and much lower chances of winning.

So, no, it’s obviously not that but I’m sure it must feel good to say it out loud

if pakistan and india's capabilities were reversed we would have been gone.

only in recent years india has become more hawkish and started bla/unknown gunmen stuff - this should have started in 80s/90s itself.

finally atlease we agree on something.

but real talk india should have refued to play pakistan after pahalgham after all the noise public made about not playing with pakistan.

this now makes india look like whimps with no courage.
 
India never had balls they portray as victims of terrorism and cry in front of big countries instead of dealing with it themselves for many years this was the habit.

Paijaan, this is a format in which

1. India smashed the NZ first team 4-1
2. India is the WC champion and AC champion without dropping a single game. India also has won EVERY series home/away since 2024
3. India has a 12-3 record vs Pakistan
4. This same Pak team lost to on India on 3 consecutive Sundays last September

It is you who are coping.

P.S.: India is also the CT champion winning in unbeaten and kicking out Pakistan. It happened last year btw. It is Pakistan who currently hold no trophies - men or women.

Naah this is the opposite.

Coming to Pak forum and openly insulting and denigrating Pakistanis is "ballz".
 
Smart move by Pakistan, now they don't have to stress bowling against Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Krishan, Rinku Singh, Surya Kumar Yadav, Tillak Verma, Shivam Dube or batting against Bhumrah, Kuldeep, Chakrawarthy, Axar
 
The Reason for defensive attitude of Indian Foriegn Policy or the defensive game India used to play in 20th century cricket like having 4 spinners in a test match to force the test match to draw all these are signs of lack of confidence that was developed in Indian minds due to 1000 years of Muslim and British Rule.
 
When Pakistan wins, it’s luck. When Pakistan loses, it’s collapse. When Pakistan doesn’t play, it’s fear. Convenient, no?

But when India repeatedly threatens not to play Pakistan, that’s called…what exactly? Principle? Power? Strategy?

Whenever India signals “we won’t play Pakistan”, it’s never labelled fear. It’s framed as policy, stance, or diplomacy. When Pakistan does the same, it becomes a mental block overnight.

Posting on Pakistani forums or making anti-Pakistan films isn’t bravery, real bravery is shown through actions, not words. What truly matters is what happens on the ground. IE downing planes of a country 5 times bigger than you and actually boycotting to play cricket with India without worrying about financial losses.

You just lost to NZ in ODI series at home, and lost 3-0 test series to NZ around end of 2024 was it at Home... And got humiliated in final against Australia at HOME in WC. A handful cricket teams and you manage to win a few more so cope harder. India is beatable and hasn't dominated cricket like Australia or West Indies during their decades long era so spare us the bharat-bhakti.

Overall record still says everytime you came out to play Pakistan, you lost more.....

Pakistan literally had their capital bombed as if it was some African country (tbh Pakistan is poorer than most African countries).

Your entire post was in reply to a T20 match where none of these apply. You are the one coping by bringing up different formats.

Pak has a 3-12 record against India.

And last time Pak played a tournament at HOME they got kicked out in 4 days without winning a match and having to fly out to UAE to play India in their own home tournament lol. So you shouldn't be commenting about HOME tournaments.

And Paksitan for all its size has lesser achievements than Sri Lanka, a third world country the size of Karachi.

Lol cope harder, I just gave you a reality check that India isn't all that knowing there are only 6-7 good teams that even play good cricket. And yes a good reminder that overall record of beating India on a cricket field more stays still with Pakistan.

And those two points were ours whether or not the match took place.

Pakistan despite being poor is feared by India because of its high utility value compared to India for 3 Most Powerful blocks - 1) USA 2) China 3) Islamic Countries like Saudi, Turkey. India has 2 Friends Russia and Israel but their Friendship has low utility value as Israel is like Right Hand of USA and Russia wants India Friendship to counter China but will not go to the extent of upsetting china as china shares border with Russia.

I blame it on Abhishek’s on-field and Surya’s off-field performance for this. They legit made Pakistani cricketers cry, so much so Agha threw the loser’s cheque in frustration.

I wouldn’t be surprised if PCB is trying to save themselves from another humiliation.
 
Yeah, its better to lose two points without playing instead of getting thrashed by arch rivals 4th time in a row.

We will see what happens if they somehow reach the finals.
 
I think so.even in yesterday's under 19 match, pak settled for nominal win instead of semis spot after loosing samir.They care for the win over india than anything. With Naqvi in charge, he is not able to bear the mediocrity of pak and its humiliation. he may have pushed it .Balooch attacks have nothing to do with it as the idea was floating past 1 week.
 
of course they chickened out. They saw what happened to a much better Pak under 19 team against a mediocre Indian U19 team. They remembered what happened in sep and they don't want the same trauma for 2026. they just chickened out. Good for them. mental health will suffer otherwise after another trashing by Indians
 
Why Pakistan leadership have taken boycott decision against playing match against India?

1) Pakistan lost to India in operation Sindur
2) Pakistan lost 3 consecutive .matches to India.

If Pakistan lost against India on February 15th, then again there is a possibility of Pakistan peoples revolt against current Pakistan Governmen. To avoid this, Pakistan government boycotted the match against India
 
Weird to see some Indians showing so much concern about the boycott. I mean they themselves hate Pakistanis and vice versa from previous years then why so much concern if they don't play at all.

Is money so much important that dignity becomes of zero value.

Imagine talking big pregame everytime and then geting your behinds handed to you on a plate three Sundays in a row.

We thought Asia Cup 2023 would scar Pakistanis for a long time time....but the scarring from triple humiliations in the 2025 Asia Cup would take even more longer to heal..
 
Anyone who believes that Pakistanis will be afraid of a phainta underestimate what a dheet kaum this is. They will fight regardless.

As an indian I do not believe it's the failure of loosing to us, lead to the decision by pak govt.

Going back to my OP, I am yet to hear a valid reason of Pak pull out from India match. I know lack of education is rampant in that part of the world but can someone pls put a logic around it?

If scared of losing against India is not the reason, what is it? I am asking since yesterday but never get a straight answer.

Amit and Jay need to do something because this can become an annual occurrence, to their financial detriment.

Why would Pakistan be afraid of losing? They’ve lost many times recently and the world hasn’t ended.

If we were afraid of losing, could have done it plenty of times before.

Learn to understand principled stances. Not everything is about in Ravi shastri’s words - “bucks” etc
 
Another intersting thing to note - some posters are saying PCB boycotting this game because Indian team refused to shake hands in Asia cup.

However, after that, both the teams have faced in U19, U23 and womens cricket. In none of those encounters teams shook hands but the games were on.

So apart from fear of losing against India, I genuinely see no other reason to boycott. There are none...zilch...nada.

Match result from likes of Naqvi is not looked upon at a sporting level but as a bragging right for geo politics. Just like Modi ji dedicated India's win in Asia cup as Op Sindoor 2.0....Pak establishment didnt wanted it to be Op.Sindoor 3.0 and hence chickened out.

Baaki sab bahana hai.

Scoring 250 against a neighborhood phupho attack and scoring 180 against a quality attack are 2 different things entirely. We saw what happened in the Asia Cup Final when we brought you to your knees chasing a small total before Tulla Tilak smashed this joker Rauf with some lucky runs. Current Pak attack without Rauf and with Usman and Shaheen and Naseem firing is far superior.

This was never in doubt otherwise they would have never played with all the chest beating. They cancel bilaterals but play ICC tournaments for the $$ and other sports including U19 cricket are fine as well. Clowns of the highest order. Even now their only concern is money and points.
 
Both PCB and BCB planned this plot several months back...... as both pakistan and bangladesh teams were getting consistent shameful defeats from Team India.

1) if Mistafizur was dropped by KKR, its a KKR's internal decision. BCB is having no right to interfere in the matter as KKR signed contract with mistafizur and not with BCB. Thereafter as per plan BCB raised security issue on playing matches in India with ICC.

2) Pakistan backed BCB's requests by provoking them. ICC turned down BCB's request by 12-2 mandate. BCB pulled out of WC.

3) Thereafter Pakistan somehow to hide their face they boycotted India's match against ICC's decision. On the contrary Pakistan should have boycotted all matches with 12 nations who voted against BCB.

4) By this boycott decision taken by Pakistan, there will be 70% reduction of ICC funds to Pakistan
