So far it looks like he wants to model himself on Mush.

similar cabinet and looking at his speeches he is saying almost the same thing, it looks like Mush is back in another body.

problem is when you look at Musharrafs cabinet and his economy boom, the brain behind it was Shuakat Aziz and IK has no man who is astute in finance or economics, PTI fans will point to Asad Umar but he is a business man not a finance or economics expert.

Musharaff made compromises to stay in power and as he came into power by force could not really go after the corrupt elements because of international pressure. I don't see Ik making the similar compromises as his vote bank is dependent on going after corruption and improving the systems.

No.

Lol @ saying his speech is similar, Khan's speech was the most unique compared to any previous speeches given by a Pakistani head of state.

Musharraf had good intentions but he is VERY shallow. Even now he talks about assassinating people for betterment of nation.

Also Shaukat Aziz was NOT the reason for the boom. Musharafs best time came before Shaukat Aziz.

Clearly i am talking about intentions and what he said in his speeches and how he built his cabinet, pretty similar, performance is another discussion ofcourse.

@badsha, no, Shaukat was with Mush from day 1 almost, no one else in his cabinet had any clue about finance or economics. I know he has a bad reputation but thats the fact, he would have also turned into angel like shiekh rasheed, shah mehmood etc. if he joined PTI.

I know many people that worked in Mush government. I am not denying Shaukat Aziz's skills but the most progress we made was until 2004. It was purely due to good intention with governance. all our sectors were booming.

But again, Mush is a fauji through and through and he couldn't deal with the intricacies of politics. He is incredibly dumb when it comes to delicate situations and he lost the plot later on.

Anyway if Imran Khan is following some of his stuff like technocrats in government and similar cabinet. I think these are good decisions. Its not that IK is following Mush but both have one thing in common: Both have GOOD intentions. (although I believe Mush just wasn't good enough)

IIRC SA was the finance minister/advisor right from 1999. He did not come in 2004.

Musharraf wasn't perfect but way better than the PPP and PML-N. He made mistakes towards the end of his tenure and eventually he lost massive popularity, his biggest mistake was allowing the PPP back and making a deal with Benazir and appointing General Ashfaq Kayani as COAS who backstabbed him

I meant as a prime minister. Again, not discrediting Shaukat Aziz but you have to realize that the first few years of Mush improved almost EVERY sector. You could visibly see how good governance was being done.

Inspite of PTI being a political party, I am enjoying the fact that this govt is utilizing the services of technocrats and qualified people instead of just employing politicians alone in positions.

Pervez Musharraf got a lot of stick, the same people who harped about Civilian rule, Democracy, How the worst Civilian rule is always better than Millitary Dictatorship were crying remembering his rule after going through 10 years of PPP and PML-N
