I was checking, he is currently 35. Age isnt exactly on his side, but knowing Pakistani players they can play till 40 so he does have some mileage left in terms of physicality. The other issue was his career threatening Artheritus. About this I read recently that he has recovered and should be making his come back to professional cricket very soon.
The only reason I ask this question is that Pakistan are desperately in need of a solution to the current predicament of openers/batsmen unwilling to play risk-free cricket. Imran Nazir was Probably a poor man's Herschelle Gibbs, however he had the ability to take the game away from the opposition on his day. We do not have a single player in the line up who bats like that, who can actually take on the pace of Bowlers that bowl 145k+ and dispatch them. Our batsmen like to make up the lost runs by attacking spinners, thats how timid they are at facing genuine pace bowling.
Honestly speaking, Pakistan really needs to look at all of these Batsmen and find a way to somehow get them involved and put the current Shahzad's and Hafeez's under pressure.
